Caroline finally got downstairs and when reach the living room, she saw the room was filled with white and gold decorations, and Klaus was the only one there.

She noticed sticker to the wall saying "welcome baby" and ballons saying baby in a light gold color, with while, yellow and gold balloons and lanterns, also there were a few gifts to open and some flowers. It was simple yet beautiful and was enough to make Caroline feel very emotional.

Near the window door that lets them go to the garden, she saw the written words "twinkle, twinkle little baby star" and white and gold balloons with a table in front that was filled with cupcakes and in the middle there was a cake.

"This is beautiful! Thank you." Caroline said as she rest her hand on her belly.

"I know you wish it was in different circumstances but I want you to know that I love our baby and that I'll do everything in my power to protect you and our baby." Klaus said, meaning every word.

"I just wish I had my mom with me." Caroline whispered.

"Do you really think I would miss my daughter's baby shower?" Caroline heard a very familiar voice, making her turn around and see her mother, making Caroline smile and ran to her mother's arms, hugging her tightly as she started to feel her eyes watery.

"I missed you so much!" Caroline said in tears.

"I missed you too." Liz said. "And I know that at first I wasn't very happy that you were pregnant with Klaus... but now I can see that he truly cares about you and your baby. I mean, he filled my phone with voicemails, he texted me every 2 minutes and he even sent a helicopter to pick me up and get me here in time."

"I can't believe it still exists such a thing as voicemails." Caroline said in a joking matter, than turned around to look at Klaus and asked. "Did you really do all of those things just to throw this surprise baby shower party?"

"Yes. I know this pregnancy didn't come as you expected but I wanted to show you how happy I am that it happened." Klaus said and Caroline hugged him.

"Surprise!" Some people yelled, making Caroline break the hug and see that in the room was now Rebekah, Stefan, Bonnie, Kol, Elijah, Elena, Matt and April, who was not just a friend from high school but she was now also dating Matt.

"Oh my God! You guys came too? You are the best!" Caroline said to Matt and April.

"Of course! We are super happy for you. By the way, nice job on getting a supper hot guy with a supper cute accent." April said.

"Am I suppose to feel concerned or threatened?" Matt asked April.

"Of course not. You are the whole package... and have a big package." April said giggling then said. "I might have drank too many mimosas."

"I was expecting this to happen... much less with him... but I think somehow he might really care about you and the baby. Just... please keep being careful..."

"I will. Don't worry." Caroline said and hugged them.

"How about we start opening the gifts?" Kol asked.

"Yes! I love that!" Caroline said very excited.

"Here is it mine." Liz said and gave her daughter a box making Caroline quickly get rid off the wrapping paper and when opened the box she saw it was a breast pump.

"Is that a beer bong for the baby?" Kol quickly asked. "I mean, not even I started partying that soon. This baby will be a legend."

"No! That's a breast pump, you goof." Bonnie quickly said.

"That makes me question. Care, are you gonna drink your own milk too?"

"No! It's only for the baby." Caroline said.

"Caroline, I have something more to show you... but it can't be here."

"Great! That way I don't have to talk about my breast milk with Kol. A sentence I never thought I would say in my life." Caroline said.

"It's not like I am asking to drink your breast milk." Kol said, making Caroline roll her eyes with a smile. "Someone thinks a lot of themselves."

"Let's go!" Caroline said and Klaus took her to a room that used to be empty.

Once she got to the room she saw a wooden horse for the baby to play with, a wooden baby crib, making her smile in pure happiness and then notice this painting that Klaus made of New Orleans at night.

"Wow!"

"Do you like it?" Klaus asked.

"This is so beautiful." She said.

"Thank you."

"Did you do all this by yourself?" Caroline asked, feeling impressed and speechless. "Thank you."

"Yes. I have been secretly coming here to prepare everything. I was thinking in getting more stuff and even paint the nursery in a light color but... I knew after everything I had to find a way to show you how much I care about you and our baby, so I asked help to Bonnie because she knows you since you two were kids and I needed to find a way to show you that... I know I did awful things in the past but I promise you that I will do everything I can to protect you and our baby and to be a good father. I didn't have a good father raising me and I want to prove you that I won't be like Mikael... I will love our baby unconditionally... In fact, I already do and he or she is not even born." Klaus said and Caroline kissed him passionately.
