It's been a few days since Caroline went to talk with Davina. Davina has been staying at the safe house with Kol and Bonnie, also having people visiting them every once in awhile because Klaus wanted to be sure Davina wasn't going to run away or to be taken. Klaus noticed how Marcel and his army was uneasy ever since Davina left the attic. Davina left a letter telling Marcel that she saw him killing a witch because of a simply innocent spell she made and that she had to leave because she felt betrayed, not giving any information about where she went or if she left alone, which only made Marcel more worried and upset. Caroline has been talking with the hybrids because they have become very impatient and they knew very well that if they complain to Klaus he would probably tortured them and hurt the people they cared about so they simply talked with Caroline. Elijah has been training Elena and convinced Klaus to keep the training by using as an argument that once Marcel would find out about him trying to become the king of New Orleans again, Marcel would try to get it back, maybe by threatening to turn Elena into vampire so Klaus wouldn't be able to make more hybrids.

Caroline spend almost all morning talking with the other hybrids and now she was back to the Plantation and decided she had to talk about the hybrid situation with Klaus because the longer she would wait, more complicated the situation would become.

Caroline walked around the mansion until she found Klaus in a room she never entered before, a room full of paintings and drawings that he made, it was his studio, where few were allowed to enter so she simply knocked on the door.

"Caroline... You've been out for hours. Should I be concerned?" Klaus asked.

"I need to talk with you." Caroline said in a serious tone.

Klaus quickly noticed the tone she was using, making him see whatever she was going to say was serious and important, so he stopped painting, walked over to her, grabbed her by the arm and vamp speed to the office, closing the door behind them.

"The door is close. No one can listen to us. What is so important that you had to interrupt me painting?" Klaus asked with no emotion because he didn't know what to expect of this sudden conversation that Caroline wanted to have.

"I've been out for hours because I was talking with the other hybrids."

"And...?" Klaus asked getting now tense.

"And we talked about all this situation with your plan of getting the throne and..."

"Caroline, I might be immortal but that doesn't mean I enjoy to have someone staling and wasting my time with circling the situation instead of being just direct and upfront." Klaus said growing impatient by the second.

"We would like to know how things will be once you become king. How will things change?"

"I told you about my goal for the city, love."

"No... How is going to change our lives. We made a pact to be loyal to you but... after being king you will probably make more hybrids, right? And you will use them to be part of this army of hybrids and..."

"Where are you trying to get at, Caroline?" Klaus asked.

"We want to know what you are thinking of doing with us once you are king and have more hybrids and more people on your side."

"Being king doesn't mean having people by my side." Klaus said. "And you made a pact with me which clearly state that you and every hybrid that I created and you decided to set free will remain loyal to me, no matter what." Klaus pressed Caroline to the wall with his hybrid face. "I'll ask again, should I be concerned?"

"No one is planning on going against you, if that's what you are thinking?"

"Then what do you want? What do you mean by these questions?" Klaus asked.

"We want to know if we can leave this place. If we can get our lives back."

"I might have the doppelgänger giving me blood but I need to be careful with the amount of hybrids I make at once because at first hybrids get overwhelmed with their emotions and their powers. I need every single one of you. Don't you think Marcel will try to destroy my kingdom once I become king?"

"We just want to know if you'll ever let us have a life. We left a lot behind and we want to be able to picture a future where we are surrounded by people we care about and we also would love to stop being simply your minions."

"What is that suppose to mean?" Klaus asked angry, showing his hybrid face. "Wasn't enough you breaking the sire bond of the hybrids I took a thousand years to create? Wasn't enough me letting you let your friend live and give me her blood instead of me draining her? Wasn't enough me letting you live after the way you went behind my back and rebelled against me?"

"It means that you made us turn into hybrids because you wanted to. You didn't ask us if we wanted to be like this. It means that we want freedom to picture a life that we want instead of a life doing whatever you want us to do. It means that we want to stop feeling like your little minions who have to do everything you say because if we don't we are putting in danger the people we love. And time breaking the sire bond was because I hated myself for not having free will, I hated being unable to make my own decision, I hated how it felt like I was a toy just like when..." Caroline was saying but quickly shut up because she was starting to say more than she wanted.

"Just like when...?" Klaus asked, wanting her to continue.

"Doesn't concern you. What matters is that we are not toys that you can use whenever you feel like and act like we have no lives besides doing whatever you want. We are people, Klaus. We all came here and have been doing whatever you wanted and being loyal to you because we know if we didn't you would kill who we love... Just like you did with Katherine. But you will only have that for so long because eventually our families and friends that we left behind will die. Eventually we will have no one and then..."

"And then you'll rebel against me... again." Klaus growled grabbing Caroline by the waist tightly, pressing her against the wall even more, making their bodies be practically glued to each other, but they didn't even thought about that with how tense their fight was starting to be.

"I won't have to."

"What are you trying to say?" Klaus growled.

"I'm saying that even if we made a pact, your pack of hybrids is starting to get tired of doing your little spy missions and going to groceries for you and other things like that. And they are doing this now because they are protecting the ones they love. But once they'll be gone, you won't be able to threat them anymore. If you give us the freedom to go to other places, to have our own lives, you'll have more chances to not have us rebel against you. Like I told you before, loyalty and trust is a two way street. There must be compromising from both sides."

"I already compromised too much when I let your precious friend live and when I accepted your pact." Klaus growled.

Next on The Pact

"I am the Original Hybrid. I'm immortal. I can't be killed. I don't need to compromise anything."

"Why do you always have to twist things and put words in my mouth? Do you even know how frustrating you are?"
***
"Where are we going?"

AN: Hey guys! How are you? I'm sorry I didn't update at the hour I usually do but today my mom would go back to my hometown, leaving me to live in a different country for the first time ever, so I had to take her to the airport and try to take advantage to all the small moments we had together... My parents and I are really close, I mean the longest time I spend without being with them was for a week and that was a bit weird bc we are really close. But at least I'm in a beautiful place, I get to live with a friend and 2 other people I still don't know and I'm starting to think that everyone from Italy is incredibly nice. They are all just so helpful and nice...
Anyway, I don't know if next week I'll go back to updating each story twice a week and I'm sorry but I still have things to do before classes start so yeah...
