It was a brand new day and after breakfast, Elijah took Elena to the safe house so they could train.

Elijah started by making Elena punch a boxing bag, teaching her how to use her feet and hips to make more impact when hitting the opponent.

After punching a boxing bag for awhile, Elijah told Elena that she should now try to hit him.

"Elijah, do I really have to? I prefer to punch the bag... Where I'm not hurting you."

"Elena, you asked me to prepare you for fighting and the things that come with it. One of the things that I'm sure it happens in fighting is your opponent move and avoid your punch. You're human, you need to improve your instincts and reflexes." Elijah said calmly.

"Fine." Elena said and tried to punch him but he quickly grabbed her wrist.

"Very predictable, Elena. You can't look at where you'll punch the opponent before you punch him or her because that way your opponent will know where you're planning to hurt him or her and your opponent will be able to quickly defend himself or herself." Elijah said calmly.

"I'm human. I can't be faster than you."

"I could be faster. Right now I'm acting like I'm a baby vampire. I'm acting like I've been a vampire as long as Caroline Forbes has been."

"I will never be able to be that fast, Elijah."

"That is why you know how to use certain weapons that can help you. But you also need to learn how to defend yourself without them because usually fights tend to happen when we least expect."

"Fine. I guess we can try again." Elena whispered.

Elena tried to punch Elijah but he once more grabbed her wrist, making her look at him frustrated, but she was not going to give up, so she step on his foot and kick him in the groin.

"I'm sorry." Elena quickly said, feeling guilty, as Elijah fall on his knees.

"Keep going. You need to know how to use all the fighting techniques you know." Elijah whispered.

"But..." Elena was about to say when Elijah with his arm made Elena fall to the ground and grabbed her by the legs, dragging her to get closer to him, wrapping her legs around his waist as he let go of her legs and grabbed her by the wrists, stopping her from punching him.

"You stayed, letting the opponent use your humanity against you. When you are in a fight, you can't show mercy."

"That's part of who I am." Elena whispered, starting to feel her heart beat faster as she noticed how close she was to Elijah.

"I know. And I do admire your compassion and mercy to others but you can't let that be shown during a fight. Your opponent will use it as a weakness." Elijah whispered and Elena, with her legs wrapped around him, rolled them over, making her be on top.

"Distraction can also be a weakness in a fight." Elena whispered as she got on top of him, then grabbed a branch of a tree and pointed to his heart. "Won't kill you but will slow you down, giving me enough time to leave."

"Nicely done, Elena." Elijah smirked, enjoying how Elena even in a fight didn't seem to lose part of who she is as a person.

Caroline woke up with someone calling her name, making her groan because she was a person who hated to wake up very early.

Without opening her eyes, she could tell it was Klaus and even if he was the Original hybrid and had a reputation that made many fear him, she was more annoyed than anything else so she rolled over, getting on top of him, laying down in her bed, grabbing him by the throat.

"Klaus, I don't ask much. But sleep is one of the few things I won't sacrifice. And if you wake me up early again I will find a way to make you pay." Caroline growled with her hybrid face.

"Oh, Really? And what would you do, love? Don't forget I'm the original hybrid. I'm the big bad wolf." Klaus whispered with a smirk as he showed her his hybrid face.

"Everyone has at least one weakness." Caroline whispered to his ear, then gave a peck in the corner of his lips and lift her head to look him in the eyes. "Even you."

Klaus rolled them over because he was always on top, figuratively and literally.

"You should be careful, love. I've been playing nice but things can change." Klaus whispered to her ear and started to plant sweet kisses on her jawline and on her neck. "There's a reason to why people fear me."

"You can't do much. We have a pact and once you break it, you know what will happen." Caroline whispered as he kissed her neck, run her fingers through his curly hair.

"Nor can you. The pact also makes you obligated to act a certain way and forbidden to go against what we agreed on." Klaus whispered as he kissed her neck and started to caress her waist, under her top.

"Why did you wake me up?"

"I thought you should wake up and use your organization skills to see what else we can do, besides waiting for answers." Klaus whispered. "But I can see the appeal in staying here for a little longer."

"Klaus, I don't know what you are thinking. But I won't be one of your little friends. Kissing you is just a cover. Nothing more." Caroline whispered, trying to deny herself how good it felt to have Klaus holding her and kissing her.

"Whatever you say, love." Klaus whispered and gave a peck on her forehead before leaving.

*Meanwhile*

Elena was in the kitchen of the safe house talking with Elijah.

"Just be honest. I won't last in a fight with a werewolf or a vampire."

"Of course you will. You just need to be prepare and try to have always something that will help you protect yourself. There's only so much you can do, Elena. You are human and humans are less powerful than supernatural creatures. That's why you shouldn't be walking around without any weapons." Elijah said.

"Thank you for helping me out. Not only with this but also with the nightmares and for defending me when Klaus is being a jerk to me."

"Of course. You've been shown time and time again that your word means something. You've been shown your loyalty even if it isn't because of the best reasons."

"Elijah, just so you know. I'm loyal to Klaus because I have to. But I'm loyal to you because I want to, because you shown me many times that you are worthy of my loyalty." Elena said, making Elijah smirk.
