8: Callie
Over the course of the next few days, things have been quiet. A little too quiet, it definitely had the pack on edge. Scott and Derek were almost certain that very soon, shit was going to hit the fan and get a little too real for comfort. Something was coming that the pack still wasn't prepared for. Aside from coming up with different strategies and training courses, they were also doing all the research they could on Lycaon and his sons. They even roped Deaton into helping with a few druid protection spells.
Lycaon being quiet for the time being should have had Scott calm, but it actually had the opposite effect. Lycaon might be calm, but Scotts dreams were still in full effect and he didn't think that would be changing anytime soon. Each night his dreams became more and more vivid, more and more horrifying, he wondered if he'd truly become the monster he feared so much in his dreams. He truly hoped not. He's fought so hard to keep those alpha urges in check and run from the monster everyone tried to make him out to be, he'd be damned if he let Lycaon bring it out of him.
Scott jolted up in bed once again and he rubbed at his sweaty face with a soft sigh, he was running on very little sleep and he knew if these dreams didn't stop and he didn't get rest, he'd be no good in a fight.
Standing up, Scott made his way out of his room and down to the kitchen. He ran the water for a few minutes before he grabbed a glass and filled it half way to then down almost all of it in a single gulp. As he stood at the sink, he furrowed his brows when he heard a soft groaning sound coming from the guest room that Lydia and Stiles were occupying. At first, he thought of something very suggestive until he heard the sounds of Stiles' hands flapping followed by a chain of curse words.
Scott quickly made his way to their room and he gently knocked at the door. "Stiles? Lydia? Are you guys okay?" Scott asked through the wooden door and seconds later, Derek emerged from the basement where he and Braeden were staying. Scott's basement was fully furnished with pullout couches and had a bathroom down there too.
"Baby time?" Derek asked as he leaned against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest. Scott shook his head in confusion and he shrugged his shoulders.
Stiles eventually opened the door, his face was completely flushed and he was drenched in water that was no doubt amniotic fluid. "We have to get to the hospital. She's ready. I have our bags. I can shower when we get into our room." He said and Scott cracked a smile. He was happy that for the time being things could feel normal and they didn't have to worry about anything other than Lydia and Callie.
"I'll get Braeden." Derek murmured and Scott nodded and clapped Stiles on the shoulder. "Let's do this bud." There was no way the pack was going to allow Stiles and Lydia to go to the hospital alone. With this new threat, no one was being left out of sight. Especially with a new baby. Scott felt terrible the two of them even came but he knew they wouldn't stay out of it either.
While Derek went to get Braeden, Scott went to get Malia and he even texted his mom and Argent and even Noah.
Making it to the hospital was the way part. Having a pack full of werewolves in a waiting room waiting for a baby to be born was the hard part. The nurse had never seen that many people waiting for an arrival, she was impressed to say the least. She was also so moved by it, she brought everyone coffee. Scott was definitely grateful for that.
After 6 long hours, baby Callie was finally born. She weighed 7lbs and 6 ounces and were 19 inches long. She was beautiful, everyone of the members of the pack were in awe of her. How could they not be? She was the perfect product of Stiles and Lydia. She was so loved already.
Only two good things came from this new supernatural problem arising, the pack was back and better than ever, it felt as if no time has passed at all— and baby Callie. The greatest gift of all time.
