Since the freedom of migration for vampires and witches, there has been, for the large part, peace between the supernatural races. Many have died out in that time, including pegasi, unicorns, chimera, and the three Furies.

Pegasi were born of Medusa's death. Descendents of Poseidon, they were as intelligent as any other sentient being, simply lacking the ability to communicate (the ability to read and write was uncommon at the time), and they often assisted heroes in the slaying of monsters and other supernaturals, most famously, the Chimera.

Because of this, the Chimera held a deep rooted hatred for pegasi as they were responsible for the slow eradication of their race. Eventually, it descended into war, neither side able to defeat the other and resulting in the extinction of both races. (The Pegasi were assisted by humans who also hated the Chimera).

Many people saw the Furies as goddesses; it is more likely that they were simply humans granted immortality (not invincibility) by the gods and charged with the duty of carrying out justice in Zeus' name. Two of the three are believed to have been killed by Ares, son of Zeus and Hera, who found that the Furies prevented wars happening as they would bring the criminal to justice instead of letting it descend into widescale conflict. The third Fury has never been accounted for, fleeing after the murder of her (assumed) sisters, vanishing out of legends and myths.

Unicorns were first created by a miscast summoning spell by witches and they managed to escape the witches' grasp, fleeing deep into the forests of England and France. Unlike Pegasi, unicorns were not intelligent, relying on instinct rather than logic to survive. It is perhaps because of these instincts that unicorns outlived the three races previously mentioned, the last sighting of one being about 200 years ago in the Mundat Forest (A/N: on the French - German border).

There are many other races that have died out since humanity came into existence but they will not be mentioned here because of a lack of detailed knowledge on their creation and extinction.
