Courtneys P.O.V:
I stretched, then scratched my head and sat up. Ow! Ugh, I hit the ceiling, again. I sleep on a bed bunk, and being on the top bunk doesn't really help. I leaned over the edge of the bed and jumped down, landing with a silent thump on my knees. Even though the ladder wouldve been eaiser, it takes like, forever!

I walked to the closet, and picked out cloths that I loved. A black and blue sweatshirt, because its a tad bit chilly outside. Duh, its fall. I grabbed my black sweatpants, and some old sneakers. I then grab a brush and go to the bathroom.

I brushed my long, black curly hair. Then, when not expected, or without knocking, my mom walked in! I jumped, and she spoke. "Courtney, sweetie, your dad is here." I let out a load groan, swung around towards her and replied "Mom, tell him i'm busy!" She shrugged and said sternly:

"Now, don't go and rage out at me missy. I am your mother and even if your on your period, its no excuse youg lady." I just stared at her, and then squinted. She stared right back at me, and then pointed at me. "Now don't go chinese on me, Miss. Attitude." She said sternly, trying not yell. I shrugged her off. She was clearely pissed off now
   'Courtney?' Mako said slowly.
    'Yes, Mako?' I said, responding to her. Oh yeah, did I forget to tell you I had a spirit owl? Its kinda like how werewolves have it, but an owl.
  If I were to shift, i would look like my mom and dad, but I'm literaly a mix between them, my looks in human AND owl. Atleast I know the human part, haven't shifted just yet..

My mom, when she shifts, to an owl, she is a common barn owl. When my dad shifts, he is a thick feathered black great horned owl. That's where I came from, mostly my coloring is black, like my dads, and my figure is from my mothers side.
 
    I sat, closed my eyes, and thought of an owl. I slowly morphed, for the first time too!! Oh gosh does it hurt!
   I sat there, breathless and in pain for a bit, but started to flap my wings to test them. Strong alright I murmered. "Courtney.. O-Oh my! You shifted!!" She said happily. She tried to come close, but I scooted back, and fluttered a bit, landing on my open windowsill.
   "Courtney, no.." My mom said slowly.
  "Courtney, yes. ." I said, and fell back purposefully. I swooped down, did a spin, and flapped my wings strongly. Shit, hurry!! I could see my mom flying after me, but I glided down, into a tree. YES! She didn't notice me and I flew away.

Hah, left you at a cliffhanger? Maybe? I know its different, but its better then my other book, I just know it. Expect the updates at the end of chapters, lol.

• So, my mom might be gettong me a bearded dragon gor my birthday, which is soon btw!!
• Took an hour to wrote it, but already have writers block..
