Character Designs: Part 4
In book four of The Owl Princess brings us to the magical island of Ogygia, where we meet the pharmakis Calypso.
Calypso's look is mostly inspired by this piece of fan art by the godly Viria.
And the painting "Diana the Huntress" by Guillaume Seignac.
As well as Ariel's sail dress from The Little Mermaid.
Calypso wears a simple dress called a chiton which is worn with a girdle (a belt tied around the waist), and a strophion (a belt tied under the bust), both made from braided leather.
Her hair is pulled back with a leather band and worn in two tails, which are bound with leather fillets.
Life on Ogygia is interrupted by the arrival of a young blacksmith from Athens named Leo.
Leo wears a short chiton (which is a unisex garment, though women's are longer). His hair is worn in short, spiral curls.
While traveling, he wears a cloak called a chlamys and a sun hat called a petasos.
