Jet Lag (Dallas)
What time is it where you are?
I miss you more than anything
You were in Baltimore, because your cousins were having a graduation party. You wanted to stay in Tulsa with Dallas, but your parents made you go. You groaned but packed up anyway. You've only been gone 3 days and Dallas already missed you. He didn't want to be alone because he missed you. He wondered, what where you doing right now? What time was is it? Were you thinking of him? These were rhetorical questions drag racing through his mind.
I don't even wanna be in this town
Your cousins and sisters were over here having a blast, but you wanted out. You wanted to slither your arms around your other half. You wanted to take in every inch of the tough, New York hood's scent. You sat on the bench behind their house in the back yard. You found yourself wondering the same questions.
You say " good morning," when it's midnight
Going out of my head alone in this bed
Another night at Buck's. The only image he sees in his mind was you. It was an artist painting a masterpiece over and over again in his mind. He dreamed of you running the streets as the tough kids of Tulsa. You ran the town. But an artist can't paint a masterpiece without the paint.
I wake up to your sunset
You saw the sun setting, an you thought of home. The 2 dreamers, Johnny and Ponyboy.
"Y/n, come on we're going to bed." You stood up and walked inside.
My heart, heart, heart is so jet lagged
Your heart felt empty all the remains of the touch of the blue-eyed boy back from your hometown. You imagined yourself lying on his chest as he ran his fingers through your hair.
I keep your picture in my car
The groceries were out, so you needed to go shopping. Your 9 year old cousins sat in the backseat of your car, and the 18 year old ones that graduated sat in your mom's.Before driving, you pulled down mirror and took out the picture of Dallas. He was smiling and looked so tough to you. You could feel his arms around you. "Y/N hurry up." They laughed annoyingly as you pulled out.
I miss you so bad
I wanna share your horizon
I miss you so bad
And see the the same sunrising
I miss you so bad
And turn the hour hand back to when you were holding me
"Dallas! I miss you so much!" You called him up when you finally had got the time. "I know I miss you too baby doll." You felt the butterflies erupt in your stomach all the way up to your neck. You loved the sound of his voice, especially when it was directed to you. Or the way those ice cold blue eyes dim out and cool to baby blue looking at you. You reminisced a few days back to when his arm was wrapped around you as you sat at Buck's together having a drink. Your favorite was Tequila and he liked Bacardi. He knew you too well.
A few days later, Dallas was leaning against the fence in front of the Curtis house when he heard rocks scuffing under shoes. He turned around and about collapsed at the sudden jolt of apathy. It was like all the Dopamine in his brain filtered out like an overflowing sink.
"DALLAS!" You shrieked as you flew into his arms. The gang turned around and showed their excitement. You kissed Dallas long and passionate and when you looked away, you saw the reason you fell in love with him. He had tears streaming down his face and he hugged you. You loved the way he showed his emotions toward you. He was an open book to you. "Hey, Doll I gotta ask you something." Johnny tossed him a box and he got down on one knee. "Y/N, Doll you have been the highlight of my life and I want everyone to see the amazing angel I'm attached with. So please marry me. I don't ever wanna be away from you." You teared up and said, "Dallas how could I say no?! I love you! Yes, I'm gonna marry you! I'll be with you forever!" He slipped the ring on your finger and teared up once again as you felt the tears on your lips as he kissed you. The gang went wild.
"I love you so much baby doll."
"I love you." You felt your hearts speed up.
"I guess we found the destination of our hearts." You looked him in the eyes.
"Each other."
Maybe that's what they mean by home is where the heart is.
