Happy little Pill
In the crowd alone
Whether he's in the gang or at school, he always feels alone without Johnny or Dallas.
He masks the pain behind those melancholic green eyes. He started hanging with the wrong crowd and even taken drugs. The gang doesn't know about this. You could say he's numb. Definitely.
Bright lights and city sounds ringing like a drone
He gets so high that he sees the world in a haze. Everything forms together. He only sees things in a blur and a haze of color. He hears things in an echo and slowed down. That's how he likes it. It's like he's a a wonderland.
Glazed eyes, empty hearts buying happy
From shopping carts
It's sad to think that someone has to use drugs to find their happiness. That was his new life now. And there was nothing he could do about it. His heart was empty with nothing but a memory. His focus trained on nothing in particular. Just him trying to numb himself from the flashbacks of the past, flooding into him like alcohol.
Nothing but time to kill, sippin' life from bottles.
He only feels free when he's drinking. Once he turned 17, he started to drink Two-Bit's beer. He only drank a few as to not give himself away. He no longer felt alive. Just an invisible soul in an empty body, hidden by skin and bone. Those green lights once lit up the sky, but now they're the melancholy of the city. When he's drinking, he feels himself leave this dystopian ambience. No longer in his body full of burning sorrow and resentment. He's in a trance. A trance so subtle, it's almost real.
My happy little pill, take me away
The most pill dosage he's ever taken were 5. Now he's taking pills of every kind. He wants to be in wonderland. He wants to forget time and just focus on the now. The now of his reality inside the dimension in his mind. Locked minds within the pill. If he could just taste the coating of the key that separates reality from imaginary.
Dry my eyes, bring color to my skin my sweet little pill.
How could you feel broken when you're held together by glue for a temporary amount of time? There's no longer dim glow in the heart and eyes of a broken teen who's lost his innocent after the fall, but a ray of red as the blood in his heart glows reflects off the utopia he's formed.
