He was in such a dark place when his parents died. He didn't know what would happen to him and his brothers. He wanted them to live him forever. One night it all got too much and he fell on his knees and cried. He heard a voice in the back of his head telling him to tell his heart to beat again.

He spent most of his time putting on a fake smile. He did appear happy. Movie star looks, a best friend, 2 attractive brothers and a job at a place he loves. But no one saw what lies behind that smile. He called himself dumb. He couldn't see what anyone sees in him. He may not be all insecure, but everyone has an insecurity. He hated when his brothers would fight. He didn't want to be in the middle of it anymore.

He knows that the struggles he have won't last forever, and he'll keep trying. He sees the dark side of life. Everyone sees him as the classic class clown of the group, but he feels things other then that happiness. Every time he listens to this song, he realizes that it's not about what behind the next wave, it's about how he held on.

He knows what being alone feels like. He knows. His dad was a drunk and his mom was not around. He puts on a cocky front in order to hide what he really feels. He only dislikes Ponyboy because of how jealous he is of him. He's jealous he has so many people who care about him. This song really opened his eyes.
It showed him that he can overcome it. There's more to life than what he feels.

He never feels like he could go through with life. He's tired of feeling weak and helpless. He just wants to be strong and not someone to pick on. He doesn't know how strong he really is. He talks about killing himself and how he wishes that there were no rivalry. His parents hate him and he can't escape the socs no mater how hard he tries. He feels as if he's just a target.

He's just gotta put one foot in front of the other.

DALLAS: Stand- Rascal Flatts

Dallas feels lost without Johnny. He feels everything inside him shattering. How could he live like this?

He's just gotta wipe his hands off and stand.
