When Dally went up to the church to check on Pony and Johnny, he was planning on asking Johnny out on a date. But he never got the chance to. Pony knew about this and supported it, so Dally took him to the hospital that night for that reason along with others, so him and Johnny could have a happy ever after. But unfortunately, he didn't get there in time.
