after Dally and Johnny's deaths, the gang was going through Dally's stuff. And Pony found a book.

Pony was digging through Dall's clothes drawer, and uncovered a small black composition book. Taped on it was a note that read:

Dally's journal. dont you dare open this unless you have a death wish. p.s: this is NOT a diary. It is a journal. Full of MY personal stuff.

he opened the Velcro strap and opened the cover. The first entry was written around the time Dally would've been around eight or nine, but he seriously had good handwriting for a nine year old. Basically, it was just a few sentences saying how his mom got him the journal for his birthday and he was just writing that because she wanted a picture of him writing in it. Then there was a bunch of stick figures naming what Pony guessed were Dally's old friends.

the next entry was dated the day that Dally and Johnny met. After that, there was an entry from every couple of days, and most of it was fangirling and fantasizing about Johnny. Occasionally, in the margined was written 'Dallas Cade' or 'Johnny Winston.'

"Pony? Did ya find anything?" Darry called from the other room.

"No!" Pony calls back, tucking the journal into his jacket.

he'd finish reading the whole thing before deciding what to do with it.

he couldn't help smiling a little.

he was the only one Johnny had ever confessed his secret crush to.

and Johnny's secret crush had been Dally.
