𝒯HE media never stopped talking. For the rest of the week, every news channel was talking of the identity reveals. Although Lucy wasn't as much in the spotlight as Peter was, the days felt excruciatingly long.

As her cheek gradually slipped off the fist she was resting it against, Lucy switched to another channel. She had looped through her television's channels for the fourth time, finding everything broadcasting insipid.

Turning the television off, she sighed and tossed the remote beside her. It bounced away before stopping on the other cushion. Lucy stood, simultaneously pulled out her phone and sending Peter a text.

Turning her phone off, she swung the phone around in her finger tips, moseying towards her room. Her mother was currently at work, volunteering at the science exhibit. She should be home soon.

Lucy felt horrible for the way the public treated her. People would brazenly walk up to her, telling her that Allison should be ashamed of herself for having a daughter like Lucy. Or, sharing their own way they would handle this situation.

It wasn't every day, but frequently enough to concern her.

She flopped down on her bed, staring up at the ceiling for a moment. Her arm lifted as Lucy's eyes connected with her phone screen again.

As she opened Tik Tok, Peter replied. She tapped back to the messenger app.

Rereading the message again, Lucy outwardly laughed to herself, covering her mouth. She couldn't help the reaction. Tapping the notification banner, she replied to him quickly,

Lucy snickered again, switching back to the app. Just then, a video of the exact event played. Someone rushed up to Peter, throwing a container of green slime at Peter, shouting profanities at the teenager.

Liking it, she swiped up.

Scrolling past a few more, Lucy thought of something else to say. Swiping back to the former application, she noticed Peter's typing bubble pop up.

With speedy thumbs, she sent another message.

Peter responded after, sending two replies in separate texts.

Her thumbs were quick to type a reply,

Peter's reply came in seconds.

Smiling at the emojis Peter sent, Lucy closed her phone. Setting it down on her bed, she kneeled on the floor. Bending down to peek under her bed, she pulled out a plastic container.

Inside were small flacons, all filled with different medicines and liquids.

Her eyes landed on a specific bottle with a pale blue liquid inside. It sloshed around as her fingers grazed by it. To one side, a small pile of individually wrapped syringes were waiting.

Picking up the blue vile, she held it up to her window, staring at it with the daylight shining through it. Her serum was nearly ready. Not wanting to do test runs, she had to make it perfect the first time.

She just needed one more thing, but she couldn't think of what substance it was.

Lucy gave a little toss with the bottle, instantly clutching it in her palm. After dropping it back in her container and sliding it under her bed, Lucy moved towards her closet and opened it.

Pulling out her Miss Canada suit, she outwardly winced at it, turning slightly to toss it in her garbage can. The metal basket tipped over from the weight.

Taking her original suit from when she didn't know Peter as Spider-Man, she grinned at the uniform.

It was red and black, with a large spider symbol. The legs to the spider stretched both ways, going up her shoulders. The eyes to the mask were larger, having a feminine wing on the ends. On the wrists were silver cuffs that stored web fluid, like Peter since either of them could produce their own. On her fingers, her thumb, index and pinky were red while her middle and third fingers were black.

Lucy messaged Peter she was coming over before disrobing. She shoved on her spandex suit before opening her window. Leaning out, she shot a web at the opposite complex building and swung away.

𝒫ETER'S head craned up, staring at his bedroom window.

A few seconds later, he saw Lucy land on his fire escape. Pulling the window up, she flitted through the window. Peter reached up to gently pull of her mask before kissing her lips. She smiled, kissing him back.

When they parted, Lucy ran a hand down his stomach slowly, gazing into his eyes with concern, "Anything new on the news?"

Her eyes moved around, spotting his green stained suit that was draped over his desk chair.

"No," his shoulders sank, "Just the same stuff they're saying as before. Probably cause we haven't been out since the reveal."

"Well, you did that one time..." Lucy teased lightly, jutting a thumb at his uniform. Peter's eyes followed before he winced, squeezing his eyes shut.

"Don't—"

Lucy laughed mockingly, poking his stomach twice, "Ha-ha!" Holding a cocky smirk, she tilted her head back, "Don't worry, Peter, you can just borrow one of mine. I'm sure we're the same size."

Peter made a face back at her, waving his arms around with sarcasm, "Oh yeah, cause we are the exact same size."

Amidst their tiff, May suddenly knocked on the door, causing Lucy to flinch in surprise.

When Peter called her in, she opened the door with a frantic expression, "Oh hey Lucy—you guys should come and see this..."

Peter and Lucy shared a wary look before following her into the living room. Over the faint shouting of protesters outside their building, May turned up the volume to the Daily Bugle channel.

Just in time, the show returned from commercials.

JJ held his usual stern look, squinting angrily into the camera as his green screen background looped behind him.

"Spider menaces!" He shouted as a pictures of Peter and Lucy suddenly flashed onscreen in an inverted filter.

Peter's picture was him with a bewildered expression and Lucy's was her with a straight face; her driver's license photo.

"Governments around the world launch investigations into the murderer known as Spider-Man and Spider-Girl. AKA, Peter Parker and Lucy Green. Now! Something that we absolutely know is that Peter was the mastermind behind this whole thing! We call him the web-headed war criminal."

Lucy's expression twisted with indignant. She didn't like this JJ guy. Glancing nervously at Peter, she watched him slowly sink into the couch, holding a throw pillow in his lap.

"Who, for years has been terrorizing the decent citizens of New York. Well now this city, and the world, see him for what he truly is!"

Different magazine covers shifted across the screen quickly before it played what Peter was talking about earlier; someone sliming him in his suit shouting murderer at him.

Lucy covered her mouth with shock, feeling horrified by this whole ordeal. Feeling her phone vibrate, she pulled it out to see her mother texted her, asking where she was.

Clicking it off, she turned her attention back to the screen.

May shook her head, switching the channel to another news outlet. It was a woman talking.

"—Details from last weeks deviating attack in London have emerged. For more, we go now to Joint Intelligence headquarters."

Over the faint chant of the protesters outside their building, the screen flipped to inside a warehouse. On the floor were thousands of deconstructed drones, parts laying across the floor. Multiple guards walked around the floor, working on the machinery.

"Authorities, just a short while ago, confirmed that the deadly drones used in the London attack were designed by Stark Industries."

Lucy's fists twisted her mask tightly, trying to fidget the anxiety away. May opened her mouth to speak before three heavy pounds on the door interrupted.

Peter nearly leapt out of his skin.

"Federal agents! Open up!"

"Federal agents?" Peter and Lucy said at the same time.

May stood up, sternly pointing a finger at him, "Federal a—? You stay here."

Peter's brows knitted together tightly before his eyes landed on Lucy. Hers were following May.

Jumping to his feet, he started to shove her towards his bedroom. "You have to get out of here!"

They both heard May open the door.

Lucy dug her heels in, trying to stop him. "What? Peter, no. I—"

Without warning, he bent down to throw her over his shoulder. She gave a small yelp, quickly slapping a hand over her mouth so the authorities didn't hear her.

Peter let her down on the short rug of his room, sliding open the window. Below, multiple police cars blocked the entrance of the building. "Get out of here before they get you too. They probably want me cause Tony gave me the EDITH glasses."

Lucy put a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it for her own comfort. "Peter, I don't feel good about this whole thing."

Cupping a hand on the back of her neck, Peter gently pulled her in to press foreheads together. Closing her eyes, Lucy inhaled deeply.

"Me neither."

They both let out a long sigh before pulling away. Lucy slicked back her hair before pulling the mask over. She nodded at him, "Text me what happens, please. Okay?"

Peter nodded, giving a squeeze to her waist. "I will. Love you."

"Love you too!"

He watched as she left in a hurry. Tensing his shoulders for a moment, he joined May once again.

𝓐LMOST exactly five minutes later, Lucy crawled back into her room. She tore off her mask, accidentally pulling some hair.

She started to pace back and forth, reeling her mind of what to do.

What could she do? She had zero authority or say in this situation. And it was getting worse by the second.

"Lucy? Is that you?" Her mother's voice called.

Craning her head towards the door, Lucy's shoulders sank with reassurance. Her mom would know what to say right now.

Lucy was struck with an odd feeling. She paused, turning back to her bed. Taking out the container of the serum and needles, she hid it under a loose floor board.

After changing out of her suit and into more comfortable clothing, Lucy shuffled into the main area.

There, sitting around the dinner table was Allison and a group of officers. A few had cups of coffee in front of them.

Lucy's face paled, feeling guilty for not answering her mother earlier. Her hands started to fidget. "What's...going on?"

A woman stood up from her chair. Her hair was gelled back into a tight ponytail. Her face wasn't happy either. Holding out her badge and ID, the woman's eyebrow cocked high. "Ms. Green, we're with the Department of Damage Control. We have a warrant for you arrest, for being an accessory for the murder of Quentin Beck."

Lucy's eyes bulged, glancing at her mother for help. Peter was probably getting arrested right now too. And Ned. And MJ.

Her stomach sank.

The woman tucked away her badge, gesturing with her finger. "Mind if we take a look around?"

Lucy stuck her lip out. "No?"

When the woman casted her a dour look, she glanced down at her feet. "I don't have a choice, do I?"

"Nope," The lady replied with a tight-lipped smiled. Dramatically pulling on white latex gloves, she jutted her chin. "Round 'em up, guys."

The whole team was on their feet in a flash, scattering like mice to all corners of the apartment.

When everyone left, Allison rushed up to Lucy and enveloped her in a hug. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? Where were you? I texted you."

Lucy hugged her mother back for a moment before shaking her head. Both of them spoke low, so no one else heard. "I know, I'm sorry. I was at Peter's. We were hanging out for a bit before the D.O.D.C showed up there too. Peter kicked me out before they entered."

Allison nodded, smoothing down Lucy's hair. "That's good. Well, not good, but you know..."

The mother and daughter looked around, watching the agents take various photos of their home. Over and over again. Allison felt sick to her stomach.

Before long, the woman approached the two. "I think we have everything we need. Ms. Green, you're under arrest. Please come with us."

Both watched as an agent swiftly left the scene, holding Lucy's old suit in a large plastic bag labeled EVIDENCE.

Taking Peter's advice, she tucked her actual suit on the top shelf on her closet, tucked away.

Lucy scoffed quietly, internally glad they didn't find her serum.

She was suddenly turned around by a man as cuffs were slapped on her wrist.

Allison rushed forward, kissing her daughter on the head. "I'll be right behind you, okay? It'll all be all right."

Lucy's eyes watered as she was escorted out into an awaiting car.
