𝓟ETER was deft with his movements, striding over to his backpack to grab his micro-tools he used on his suits.
Lucy's body suddenly became weak, letting her hand wilt to the floor as her body slumped.
Peter bent to the bathroom handle, getting to work with haste.
The needle clinked on the tile, rolling away. Her skin paled two shades lighter, as she started feeling dizzy.
Without warning, it felt as if her head gained weight. It was hard for her to hold it up. Lucy's eyes slowly closed as her head leaned back, resting on the edge of the tub.
When the door's lock clicked, he opened it with more force than intended; hearing it bang against the wall behind.
Peter cringed momentarily before ducking at Lucy's unconscious side.
He cradled her face in his hands gingerly. With his sensitive fingertips, Peter noticed her skin was cool to the touch, "L-Lucy? Hey, come on, wake up."
Holding a finger under her nose, he felt her shallow breathing, sighing out in relief from it.
Leaning in, Peter softly kissed her cheek before lowering his lips beside her ear, "Wake up, Lucy. I'm mad at you, wake up."
When Peter still got no response, he scanned around, spotting the vial that she used. Grasping it, there was a few milligrams left.
He frowned, anger suddenly overcoming him. Peter pocketed the bottle, discarding the needle in a recycled laundry jug for safety.
Pulling Lucy into his lap when he returned, Peter effortlessly swept her up and made his way to her room.
Settling her down, he sighed at her coma-induced state. Taking a deep breath to modify his annoyance, Peter pushed his hair back, examining her over once more.
Lucy's eyelids twitched as her brows pinched inward. Her muscles slowly unclenched, returning her face to a neutral state.
Letting out another breath sharply through his nose, Peter internally argued with himself on if he could be mad right now or not.
To be fair, when his spider bite happened, he was knocked out for a day.
He pulled the blanket over her body, exiting the room to allow her to rest for the time being.
Peter pulled out his phone, sending a text to May and Happy to inform them that Lucy had a stomach issue and would be down for the rest of the evening.
After a few moments, May asked him if her wanted her to bring anything home.
Peter denied, telling her that he would just take a nap with her instead. He was tired anyway.
Shutting off his phone, Peter undid his belt before shaking his jeans off his legs. Tossing his device onto the bed, he pulled his sweater and shirt off in one motion.
He crawled under the blanket, sighing stiffly when his aching muscles hit the mattress. It was a soft mattress; he would admit. Grabbing his phone, he carefully leaned over Lucy to place it on the table, beside her's.
Peter laid back with a quiet groan, now suddenly aware of the stiffness in his muscles, juxtaposing against the cushiony mattress. Glancing over at Lucy, Peter's face softened with endearment. Her breathing was levelled, laying flat on her back.
He carefully lifted his hand, using his index and middle finger to direct some hair behind her ear.
Upon the touch, she moved, angling her head towards Peter in her drowse. Peter's smile stretch a bit wider, shuffling his face closer to hers.
"You're really stupid, you know?" he whispered affectionately to her, kissing the spot between her eyebrows. Laying his head down, Peter slowly closed his eyes.
𝒫ETER felt a hand gently lay against his thigh, pressing a cool palm against his warm skin. The temperature difference felt nice.
Keeping his eyes closed, Peter waited for her hand to move.
It did, inching down before sliding up. It passed over his briefs before stopping on the small of Peter's back. It then roamed further, caressing the slope between his shoulder blades.
Lucy's hand curled around his exposed shoulder, scooting her body behind him to spoon Peter. As she tucked one arm between them, she wrapped the other up around his abdomen, "Peter. You awake?"
Her warm lips pressed where her hand was, replacing it. Trailing more kisses up to his neck, she could feel him begin to smile. "I know you're mad at me but I want some attention right now."
After a few more kisses to the nape of his neck, Peter finally turned around. They laid close together, staring at each other.
"Hi." Lucy whispered, curling her hands under her cheek to prop up her head.
"Hi."
"Are you mad at me?"
Peter nodded, keeping his face gentle yet steadfast. "A bit."
Lucy knew he was, and wasn't trying to disregard it. But, she laughed, biting her lip, "Bet you called me stupid while I was out, huh?"
"Yeah." Peter laughed, losing his frown. Lucy chuckled along with him, the two shuffling closer subconsciously. "What time is it?"
The two both turned their heads towards the windows, finding it dark behind the drawn curtains.
Peter leaned over Lucy, grabbing his phone to find out.
Half past eight o'clock.
Continuing to lay on her, Peter cupped his jaw in his hand. "It's after eight. Wanna go get bubble tea?"
"Ohhh, please?" Lucy cooed with a slight groan, reaching up with both hands to grab his face.
Peter pretended to ignore her, answering some texts and the posts Ned sent to him over Instagram. As he did that, Lucy played with his face; squeezing his nose, tracing his lips, stretching his eyes wide.
She laughed before straining a moan of breathlessness, "Parker, get off, you're so heavy..."
As he rolled off her and grabbed his sweater, he chuckled, "You're part of the enhanced club now, Green. Where's that super strength you gave yourself?"
"The enhanced club? Did you just make that up?" Lucy threw a mocking laugh back at him, sitting up before rubbing her bicep. "I don't even know my extent yet, but my muscles feel sore. Plus, you just got a fat ass."
"You think?" Peter innocently asked, turning to the mirror on the wall. He angled his backside towards it, staring over his shoulder. "Bigger than yours..."
"You're such a dick!" Lucy scoffed at him, throwing a pillow at her boyfriend.
Shoving the blanket off herself, she quickly rounded the bed to yank Peter's sweater from his hands.
"Hey!" he protested, making no move to get it back. He used a weird accent, pointing a finger in her face, "Rude."
She scrunched her nose, pulling on one of her own sweaters before layering Peter's over it. Grabbing her mask, cuffs, and gloves, she shoved them into the large front pocket.
After Peter changed into a similar outfit (with a different sweater), the couple exited the room.
May and Happy were both sitting on the sofa, at opposite ends. They were watching some reality show.
May smiled at Peter before her eyes landed on Lucy, "Well good evening, you two. I'm sure that nap felt good. Lucy, honey, how are you feeling? Peter said you had an upset stomach or something."
Lucy blinked in confusion towards Peter before shaking her head to play along, "Yeah. I'm feeling better now. Me and Peter are gonna go for a swing; maybe the fresh air will help. When we get back, I'll have dinner."
May hummed at the teen's words, "That's good. Your mother called me while you two were down, so make sure you reach back out to her. Dinner is in the fridge for you two."
They both nodded. Lucy glanced at Happy, noticing he was still quiet over their breakup. "Will do... See you two later."
Peter escorted her to the balcony, sliding the glass door open and close for her.
They both put on their gear and Peter glanced at Lucy as he adjusted his glove, "Wanna lead the way? Test out your new powers?"
She peaked at her wrists, clenching her hands into fists, "Sure."
She took her time climbing over the glass railing, using the very edge of her shoes to stand on the other side of it. Peter copied her, hanging off the railing and staring at the street below.
Without warning, Lucy let go, free falling.
Her breath in was difficult against the wind, and her lungs felt like they were on fire. But, it was still strangely easier to breathe. They felt bigger, almost.
Lucy stuck out her hand, using her fingers to press the trigger on her web-shooter. She swung between the tall buildings, heading towards their favourite bubble tea place.
"𝒮O how are you feeling?" Peter smirked, pulling away his cup. He chewed on the few pearls that caught in his mouth before swallowing.
Lucy did the same, finishing before speaking, "So good, holy shit!"
Peter laughed at her enthusiasm, wondering if she meant towards his question, or the drink. He watched as Lucy threw her head back to let out a cheery laugh, smiling at how her eyes wrinkled with bliss.
She set down her beverage on the ledge they sat on, peeling off her gloves after. She used her hands as she spoke, "The swinging is so much easier. Pulling myself up, slinging webs; all of it. It's just easier."
He smiled, admiring hers as well, "That's good. You're gonna have to start practicing and honing your abilities."
"You sound like Steve." Lucy chuckled, titling her head towards Peter, "But yeah, I'll start tomorrow or something."
A silence settled over them for a few minutes, contently filled ambient night traffic passing below.
"Why'd you do it?" He asked afterward, tone more serious. "You scared the shit outta me back there."
Lucy stayed quiet for a moment, contemplating, before letting out a stressed sigh, "I did it because I thought it was time. We have been doing this hero act for a few years now, and I don't think I could've done it much longer if I was normal. Being a hero is really tiring."
Albeit she tried to half-joke the last part, he remained quiet.
Peter turned his head to her to argue, but she shot up a finger to stop him, " I bet you there's probably a bunch of lesser-known heroes or people out there who are doing the same thing, and more without any powers, but I felt like I needed this. This I just one less thing I have to worry about now."
He mused over Lucy's words for a moment, taking another sip of his drink, "Okay...but, how did you figure out the formula, and knew it wasn't gonna go wrong?"
She paused, blinking at him, "I...just kinda winged it? Is that a satisfying enough answer?"
"Shut the fuck up, no you didn't." Peter deadpanned at her, receiving a quiet giggle from her in return. "You just winged it?"
"Yeah," Lucy lipped awkwardly, holding a mouthful of her drink. A small burst of air shot from her nostrils, holding a chuckle, "Stop making me feel insecure."
Peter nudged her, "Are you kidding? If you're able to just wing a formula and come out right with it, then I'd say you're a genius."
Lucy just chuckled in response, swallowing with a timid smile. "Thanks. I...wasn't too sure, but at least I made it out."
They both gazed up at the sky, seeing the sky polluted from the city's lights. No stars to see, to Lucy and Peter's disappointment.
Peter felt a sort of disillusioned happiness from her, watching her face from his peripheral. Taking one last sip, he set aside his cup and stood. "C'mon, get up."
Lucy's head swung up to meet his gaze, slightly taken back, "What? You wanna go back already?"
He blew a raspberry, waving a hand towards her before extending it to help her, "No. Up."
Lucy stood, slightly wavering. He balanced her, holding her close by the waist. "Want to do some practicing?"
She thought for a moment Peter was going to make fun of her somehow, but she only saw the adoration and warmth on his face. A smile slowly formed, "Sure."
Moving away from his hold, Lucy glanced over her shoulder at the narrow ledge that lined the roof they were on. Extending her arms up, Lucy's torso curled backwards.
"Luce—" Peter jerked forward, observing as she landed into a back bridge.
Peter licked his lips, slowly walking towards her. The music continued as Lucy bent backwards, going into a handstand, as if testing her new balance.
She bent her legs in before stretching them out high above her. Her legs slowly moved, pointing out to do a side-split.
"Impressive," Peter commented, glancing at her ass for a moment before she stood on her feet again. "You ready to swing?"
"We've been doing this for years, baby," Lucy waved him off as they stood close together. Lifting her arms, she flexed her larger biceps, "Only difference is I'm enhanced now. And, my arms and legs look really good."
They both glanced down, watching Lucy's thighs bulge when she flexed her quadriceps.
Peter chuckled at her pompous ego, but was happy that she was happy with her new powers. "Yeah, they do. Now, where to Spider-Girl? New York is yours tonight. As long as we don't attract too much attention."
Lucy faced the street, feeling the heavier breeze from the altitude. Zipping her phone securely in one of the hidden pockets, she closed her eyes momentarily.
The small areas of excess fabric fluttered against her skin with a slight tickle. She smiled happily beneath her mask.
When she faced her back to the street, and faced Peter, he gave her a confused look. "Are you not gonna jump..?"
To answer his question, Lucy shot out her arms, allowing her weight to tilt her over the edge of the building.
Her body felt weightless as she plummeted down with increasing speed, the pavement rapidly gaining closer. Her right arm reached out, curling her hand back to shoot a web.
It attached onto one of the many doppelgänger buildings that surrounded them, soaring through the city sky.
As her body slowly rotated along the swing, she spotted Peter close behind
She felt unstoppable in this moment. She tore through the raging wind, feeling as though nothing could stop her now. Her and Peter could conquer anything the world had to throw at them.
Lucy led him around the city for a few minutes, having no destination in mind. After a while, she pulled herself up onto a random sky-high building.
Peter tore off his mask when they landed, a bit short of breath, "How're you feeling?"
Lucy copied his actions, gazing down at her hands and arms with astonishment, "This is so much easier now! It's incredible. I feel like I could do this forever; I'm barely out of breath."
Her head turned, the wind flicking her hair back. As she panted with excitement, her teeth formed a grinning smile. Fisting her mask tightly, she suddenly sprinted for the building's edge.
"Lucy!" Peter called after her, scrambling to keep up. As he ran after her, he struggled to pull back on his mask.
She bounded off the ledge, launching herself high into the air. Her entire frame leaned back, backflipping a few times. As she fell, a stentorian yell escaped from Lucy, echoing out to New York.
"WOOOO HOOOOO!" She laughed, quickly pulling higher so she do another backflip.
Peter felt like time slowed down as she turned upside down, making eye contact with him. She slyly smiled, nosediving towards the streets below.
Keeping her ankles together, she angled her arms out like wings. When she was a few meters from the ground, she fired a web, swinging low into the streets.
After a few seconds gliding, Lucy started to hear the shouts from citizens; both praise and disproval.
"It's Spider-Girl!"
"She's back! And there's Spider-Man too behind her!"
"Someone get them!"
"Watch it!"
Lucy didn't care about it in the moment, continuing to smile happily. She felt like she was on cloud nine.
Carefully pulling out her phone, she noticed the time was getting late, and decided to turn back for Happy's apartment.
