Johnny Imagine
A/N: Requested by PonygirlCurtis722! I know you usually like it in his POV, but I wanted to do something special. ☺️
Your POV:
I wake up early on Monday morning, full of new self confidence. I don't really know why, I'm usually pretty shy, but today I just feel like coming out of my comfort zone. Throwing on a pair of right jeans, and a cute tank top, I know I have to take advantage of it while I can, since by tomorrow it will be gone. I try to figure out what to do, and finally I decide. I have to tell my best friend, Johnny Cade the truth. Whether he feels the same way or not, he needs to know that I'm in love with him. I grab my backpack and run out the door, to his house. We walk to school together every morning. I go to knock on the door, since I'm a little bit early and I don't want to stand out in the cold. I've met Johnny's parents before, and they're cold, horrible, terrible people and I don't have a clue as to how he stands them. But unlike his friends, and Johnny himself, I've never been afraid of them. I've always felt the need to stick up for my best friend, no matter what, and even if it means yelling at a bunch of drunk adults, I'm fine with it, as long as I know that Johnny didn't get hurt today. I've known Johnny Cade since Kindergarten when we were in the same class. We hadn't talked until recess on the first day of school.
*FLASHBACK*
We stood in a line of new kids in a big school as our teacher droned on about what games we could play. Most of us zoned out, and by the time she was done, everyone was glad to run away. Most of the boys ran to the soccer or basketball fields, and the girls all ran to play with the jump ropes. I stood there, debating where I should go. I looked from the slides, to the swings, to the jump ropes. I saw Johnny in front of me, trying to decide where to go, too. Unlike a lot of the guys who already had friends, he didn't know anybody in the class. I didn't either, so I decided to walk up to him. "Hi! I'm Emily," I say, smiling. "H-hi, Emily," He responds shyly. "Do you want to play with me?" I ask him. He looks around one more time. "I uh, I guess so. What do you want to do?" He asks me. His voice sounds like he hasn't talked to many people today, and like he's nervous, but I just brush the thought away and try to make a new friend. "Whatever you want to do," I tell him. And that started our friendship. For the rest of that recess he and I took turns pushing each other on the swings and having the time of our lives.
*PRESENT TIME*
He and I have been inseparable ever since then. "Johnny isn't home!" An old man, with brown hair and ran skin said, before slamming the door in my face. He smelled of alcohol. It was amazing that Johnny came from that. (More or less😉) I mean, he and Johnny have almost the same faces, but personality wise they're completely different. For one thing, Johnny would never go near alcohol, and second, he is the nicest person I've ever talked to. Luckily, I don't even have to worry about where my friend is. I know him well enough to know that he's at the lot. I sprint there, not even caring if I miss or am late to school. I need to tell him how I feel. When I get there I see him sitting there, his head in his hands. "Hey Johnny!" I say. He looks up at me and his eyes are red, like he's been crying. There's a bloody cut on his neck, and a few new bruises on his face. I run over and hug him. "Are you ok?" I ask. He nods. "Yeah, I'm fine." I breathe a sigh of relief, and get ready to tell him what I've been meaning to. "Are you ok?" He asks me. "You don't look too good," He says. I just nod. I'm fine, just nervous. "Johnny, I have something to tell you," I say, my heart breathing faster and faster in my chest. "What's up?" He asks. And then I go to say it. And he cuts me off. And it's the most beautiful thing in the world, and it's a total surprise.
Johnny's POV:
I had spent all of last night and this morning in the lot. Last night, my dad hit me again, and I left. I took some clothes with me and told them I wasn't coming back. They didn't even respond to that, they obviously didn't care. I slept here last night, and was planning to stay here until I found somewhere to go. I didn't expect anyone to come find me, until I heard my best friend Emily. "Hey Johnny!" She calls to me. I look up at her, and she immediately runs over to me, dropping down to give me a hug. "Are you ok?" She asks me. A chill runs down my spine, and I feel myself blush as soon as she touches me. This has been happening for a while. I've had a crush on her for as long as I can remember, I've just been too scared to tell her. What if she doesn't like me? What if she freaks out when I tell her? Just as I decide I was going to face my fears, suck it up and tell her, I looked into her eyes. She looked nervous, she was blushing, and breathing hard. "Are you ok? You don't look good," I tell her. She nods. "Johnny, I have something to tell you," She says, taking a deep breath. But she's so close to me I can't help but put my hand on her cheek. We both lean close, and her lips are on mine. She's an amazing kisser. "Emily," I whisper after a moment. She looks into my eyes. I've never noticed how beautiful she is. Shyly, she tugs a lock of her golden brown hair behind her ear and smiles at me. "I love you," I tell her. She blushes, but says nothing, so I lean back in and kiss her for the second time. "How did you know?" She asks. I give her a funny look. "How did you know that was what I wanted to tell you? That I've had a crush on you forever?" She asks. I'm now grinning from ear to ear. "Maybe it's because I've had one on you for just as long," I suggest. The look on her face tells me how happy she is, that she's been waiting as long as I have for this. "So you'll be my girl?" I ask her. She nods. "I'd love to be, Johnny." We spend the rest of the day in each other's arms, enjoying each other's company, and not worrying about school, parents, or any other kind of stress.
