Chapter 18: Confusion and Concern
THIS IS LUCAS POV
I THOUGHT I COULD MAKE IT A LITTLE DIFFERENT
I watched as Penny walked away from me, feeling a mix of emotions. I was relieved that she had told me about Andrew, but at the same time, I couldn't help but feel a little jealous.
Who was this Andrew guy, and why was he carrying Penny around in his arms? I didn't like the way it made me feel, all possessive and protective.
As I walked to my next class, I couldn't shake the image of Penny and Andrew from my mind. I had always thought of Penny as just a friend, but lately, I had been starting to feel something more.
But now, with Andrew in the picture, I was confused. Did Penny have feelings for him? And if so, where did that leave me?
I didn't have any answers, and it was frustrating. I just knew that I needed to talk to Penny again, to figure out what was going on.
As I sat in class, I found myself doodling Penny's name on my notebook. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't even notice when the teacher called on me.
"Penny's not even my girlfriend," I muttered to myself, feeling annoyed. Why was I getting so worked up about this?
But deep down, I knew why. It was because I had feelings for Penny, and I didn't know how to process them.
As the class came to a close, I gathered my things and headed out into the hallway. I spotted Penny walking towards me, and my heart skipped a beat.
"Hey," she said, smiling up at me.
"Hey," I replied, trying to sound casual.
We walked together in silence for a moment, and then Penny spoke up. "Lucas, can I ask you something?"
"Sure," I said, curious.
"Do you...do you have feelings for me?" Penny asked, looking up at me with big brown eyes.
I felt my heart skip a beat as I looked at her. Did I have feelings for her? Yeah, I did.
But I didn't know how to answer her question. I didn't want to ruin our friendship, but at the same time, I couldn't deny my feelings.
"Penny, I..." I started to say, but then I trailed off.
Penny looked at me expectantly, waiting for me to finish my sentence. But I didn't know what to say.
So I did the only thing I could think of. I took Penny's hand in mine, feeling a spark of electricity as our palms touched.
"I don't know, Penny," I said, looking into her eyes. "But I do know that I care about you deeply."
Penny's face lit up with a smile, and she squeezed my hand. "I care about you too, Lucas," she said.
As we stood there, holding hands and looking into each other's eyes, I knew that everything was about to change.
As I stood there, holding Penny's hand and looking into her eyes, I felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. I had never felt this way about anyone before, and I wasn't sure how to process my emotions.
But as I looked at Penny, I knew that I couldn't deny my feelings any longer. I had been trying to convince myself that I was just being a good friend, but deep down, I knew that I had developed feelings for her.
As we stood there, the tension between us was palpable. I could feel the electricity in the air, and I knew that Penny could feel it too.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Penny spoke up. "Lucas, I think we need to talk," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
I nodded, feeling a sense of anticipation. I knew that this conversation was going to change everything.
We walked to the nearest empty classroom and sat down at a desk. Penny looked at me, her eyes searching mine.
"Lucas, I have to admit, I've had feelings for you for a while now," she said, her voice trembling.
I felt my heart skip a beat as I looked at her. I had been hoping that she felt the same way, and now that I knew, I couldn't believe it.
"Penny, I've had feelings for you too," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
Penny's face lit up with a smile, and she leaned in close to me. "Really?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
I nodded, feeling a sense of happiness wash over me. "Really," I replied.
As we sat there, looking into each other's eyes, I knew that everything was going to be okay. We had confessed our feelings to each other, and now we could finally be together.
But as we sat there, basking in the glow of our newfound love, I couldn't help but think about Andrew. Who was he, and why had he been carrying Penny around in his arms?
I pushed the thought aside, not wanting to ruin the moment. But as we walked out of the classroom, hand in hand, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us.
As we walked down the hallway, I could feel the eyes of our classmates on us. They were all staring at us, wondering what was going on.
But I didn't care. I was too happy to worry about what other people thought. I had Penny by my side, and that's all that mattered.
As we walked to our next class, Penny leaned in close to me. "Lucas, I'm so happy," she whispered.
I smiled, feeling a sense of happiness wash over me. "Me too, Penny," I replied. "Me too."
As we sat down in our next class, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. What did the future hold for us? I didn't know, but I was eager to find out.
As the class went on, I found myself stealing glances at Penny. She was sitting next to me, looking beautiful and happy.
I felt a surge of love for her, and I knew that I would do anything to make her happy. I was in this for the long haul, and I was excited to see where our relationship would go.
As the class came to a close, Penny leaned in close to me. "Lucas, do you want to grab lunch together?" she asked.
I nodded, feeling a sense of excitement. "Yeah, I'd love to," I replied.
As we walked out of the classroom, I couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness. I had Penny by my side, and we were finally together.
We walked to the cafeteria, hand in hand, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. I had the most beautiful girl in school by my side, and I was determined to make her happy.
As we sat down at a table, Penny looked at me and smiled. "Lucas, I'm so glad we're finally together," she said.
I smiled back, feeling a sense of happiness. "Me too, Penny," I replied. "Me too."
As we ate our lunch, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. What did the future hold for us? I didn't know, but I was eager to find out.
As we finished our lunch and threw away our trash, Penny leaned in close to me. "Lucas, can I ask you something?" she said.
"What is it?" I asked, looking at Penny curiously.
Penny hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Do you think Andrew is going to be a problem?" she asked.
I felt a surge of surprise at her question. I had been trying not to think about Andrew, but now that Penny mentioned him, I couldn't help but wonder if he was going to be a problem.
"I don't know," I said honestly. "I don't know much about him, but I do know that he seems to have a thing for you."
Penny nodded, looking concerned. "I know," she said. "And I don't know how to deal with it."
I took Penny's hand in mine, feeling a sense of protectiveness towards her. "Don't worry, Penny," I said. "I'll take care of it. If Andrew gives you any trouble, just let me know and I'll handle it."
Penny smiled, looking relieved. "Thanks, Lucas," she said. "That means a lot to me."
As we walked out of the cafeteria, I couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. I was going to protect Penny from Andrew, no matter what it took.
But as we walked down the hallway, I couldn't help but notice Andrew watching us from across the way. He looked angry and possessive, and I knew that I had to be careful.
I squeezed Penny's hand, feeling a sense of protectiveness towards her. "Don't worry, Penny," I whispered. "I've got your back."
Penny smiled, looking up at me with trust in her eyes. "I know you do, Lucas," she said.
As we continued down the hallway, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and possessiveness towards Penny. She was mine now, and I was going to do whatever it took to protect her.
But as we turned a corner, I saw something that made my heart skip a beat. Andrew was standing in front of us, a smug look on his face.
"Well, well, well," he said, looking at Penny and me with a sneer. "Look what we have here. The happy couple, right?"
I felt a surge of anger at Andrew's tone, but I tried to stay calm. "Andrew, what do you want?" I asked, trying to keep my cool.
Andrew sneered at me. "I want Penny," he said. "And I'm not going to let you have her."
I felt a surge of protectiveness towards Penny, and I knew that I had to stand up to Andrew. "You're not going to have her," I said, looking Andrew straight in the eye. "She's mine now, and I'm not going to let you take her away from me."
Andrew snarled at me, his eyes flashing with anger. "We'll see about that," he said, before turning and storming off.
I watched him go, feeling a sense of unease. I knew that Andrew was not going to give up easily, and I was going to have to be careful if I wanted to protect Penny.
As I turned to Penny, I saw that she was looking at me with a mixture of fear and admiration in her eyes. "Lucas, thank you for standing up to him," she said.
I smiled, feeling a sense of pride and protectiveness towards her. "Anytime, Penny," I said. "I'll always be here to protect you."
