Chapter 17: A Unexpected Encounter

Penny was walking across the school compound, lost in thought. She had just finished a grueling math test, and she was feeling relieved that it was over.

As she walked, Penny didn't notice the group of boys playing basketball nearby. She was too busy thinking about her test, and wondering if she had done well enough.

But suddenly, a ball came flying out of nowhere and hit Penny right in the stomach. She felt a surge of pain and shock, and she instantly fell to the ground.

When Penny opened her eyes, she saw a gorgeous tall boy towering over her. He had piercing blue eyes and chiseled features, and Penny couldn't help but stare.

"Hey, are you okay?" the boy asked, looking concerned. "I'm so sorry about that. I was playing basketball with my friends, and I didn't see you there."

Penny tried to sit up, but she felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. "I...I think I'm okay," she stammered.

The boy nodded and held out his hand. "My name is Andrew, by the way," he said.

Penny took his hand, feeling a jolt of electricity as their palms touched. "I'm Penny," she replied.

Andrew smiled and helped Penny to her feet. But as she tried to walk, Penny realized that she was having trouble putting weight on her ankle.

Andrew noticed her struggling and frowned. "You're not okay, are you?" he asked.

Penny shook her head, feeling embarrassed. "I think I twisted my ankle," she admitted.

Andrew nodded and swooped in, picking Penny up in his arms. "I'll carry you to your next class," he said.

Penny felt a surge of surprise and embarrassment. She didn't want to be carried like a baby, but at the same time, she was grateful for Andrew's help.

As they walked across the compound, Penny couldn't help but notice the stares and whispers from the other students. They were all looking at her and Andrew, and Penny felt like she was the center of attention.

But Andrew didn't seem to mind. He just smiled and kept walking, carrying Penny effortlessly in his arms.

Penny couldn't help but feel a little flutter in her chest as she looked up at Andrew. He was gorgeous, and he seemed really nice too.

But just as Penny was starting to feel more at ease, she saw Lucas watching her from across the compound. He looked surprised and maybe even a little jealous, and Penny felt a pang of guilt.

She didn't know what to make of her feelings for Lucas, and now Andrew had come into the picture. Penny was confused, and she didn't know what to do.

As Andrew carried her to her next class, Penny couldn't help but wonder what would happen next. Would she see Andrew again? And how would Lucas react to the situation?

Penny didn't have any answers, but she knew one thing for sure: her life was about to get a lot more complicated.

As they reached Penny's classroom, Andrew gently set her down on her feet. "Thanks for letting me carry you," he said, smiling.

Penny smiled back, feeling a little shy. "Thanks for carrying me," she replied.

Andrew nodded and turned to leave, but not before Penny caught his eye and smiled. "Hey, Andrew?" she called out.

He turned back to her, looking curious. "Yeah?"

Penny smiled mischievously. "You owe me one," she said.

Andrew laughed and grinned. "I'll make it up to you, Penny," he promised.

And with that, Andrew turned and walked away, leaving Penny to wonder what had just happened.

As Penny watched Andrew walk away, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She had never had a boy carry her in his arms before, and it was definitely a new experience.

But as she turned to head into her classroom, Penny's excitement was quickly replaced with anxiety. Lucas was standing by the door, looking at her with a mixture of confusion and concern.

"Hey, Penny, what happened?" Lucas asked, walking over to her.

Penny hesitated, unsure of how to explain the situation. "I...I got hit by a basketball," she said finally.

Lucas's eyes widened in surprise. "Are you okay?" he asked.

Penny nodded, feeling a little embarrassed. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said. "Just a little shaken up."

Lucas nodded, looking relieved. "I'm glad you're okay," he said.

But as they stood there, Penny couldn't help but notice the look of concern on Lucas's face. It was clear that he had seen Andrew carrying her, and he was wondering what was going on.

Penny felt a pang of guilt, knowing that she had to explain the situation to Lucas. But before she could say anything, the teacher walked into the classroom and started taking roll.

Penny breathed a sigh of relief, grateful for the distraction. She knew that she would have to talk to Lucas eventually, but for now, she was just happy to avoid the conversation.

As the class went on, Penny found herself struggling to focus. She kept thinking about Andrew and the way he had carried her in his arms. She couldn't help but wonder if he was interested in her, and if she was interested in him.

But every time Penny started to think about Andrew, she would catch Lucas looking at her. He would smile and nod, but Penny could tell that he was still wondering what was going on.

Penny felt a pang of guilt, knowing that she had to be honest with Lucas. She couldn't just ignore him and hope that he would go away.

So, as the class came to a close, Penny made a decision. She would talk to Lucas and explain the situation, no matter how awkward it might be.

As they walked out of the classroom, Penny turned to Lucas and took a deep breath. "Hey, Lucas, can we talk?" she asked.

Lucas nodded, looking curious. "What's up?" he asked.

Penny hesitated, unsure of how to start. But then she took a deep breath and launched into the story, telling Lucas all about Andrew and the basketball and the way he had carried her in his arms.

As Penny talked, Lucas listened intently. He didn't say anything, but Penny could tell that he was processing the information.

When Penny finished talking, Lucas nodded thoughtfully. "I see," he said.

Penny looked at him anxiously, wondering what he was thinking. "Lucas, I'm sorry if I made you feel weird," she said.

Lucas smiled and shook his head. "You didn't make me feel weird, Penny," he said. "I just...I don't know, I guess I was a little surprised."

Penny nodded, feeling relieved. "I know it's weird," she said. "But I promise, nothing is going on between me and Andrew."

Lucas looked at her, his eyes searching. "I believe you, Penny," he said.

Penny smiled, feeling grateful. "Thanks, Lucas," she said.

As they stood there, Penny felt a sense of relief wash over her. She had been honest with Lucas, and he had understood.

But as they walked away from the classroom, Penny couldn't help but wonder what would happen next. Would she see Andrew again? And how would Lucas react if she did?

Penny didn't have any answers, but she knew one thing for sure: her life was about to get a lot more complicated.
