Chapter 11

It took him a day and a half. He followed the main path back past Whiterun, through Riverwood, right past Helgen and  all the way to the main entrance of Falkreath. Well, not really, he's perched on a ridge trying to come up with a plan. "My end goal is the mountain, but I'll need resources and materials." he says eyeing the blacksmith. Dusk begins to fall as Goblin takes out a large green fabric and ties it at the top making it into a mask. He then takes some dwarven oil from the prototypes and draws two eyes, and an intimidating mouth on it and puts it over his face. He crept through Falkreath, mostly by climbing to the roof of the main gate and jumping from roof to roof as quietly as he could until he reached Lod's house. He watched silently trying not to slip as his last patron leaves with a blade he buffed for them. "Take care now, only use it for defense if you have to." Lod said as he let his forge settle to embers as he walked to his door. Goblin silently lowers himself behind Lod as he walks through his door, the door closing behind Goblin. Lod is unaware at first but Goblin then steps on a creaky floorboard by the door. "Mind explaining why you're in my home?" Lod asks without hesitating to reach for his sword. "Because...I'd like to hire you." Goblin says with a shaky voice. Lod sits at a table and takes a good look at his intruder. "What line of work am I fit for...?" Goblin feels the anxiety and fear creep through his mind, his mind already whispering about how he'll fail, sweat begins running down his face. "I require shipments of resources. You are the only one in this hold that can help me with that."  he says as boldly as he can muster. "Pickup or delivery?" Lod asks settling down, still not letting his guard down. He turns to face his intruder, a bit surprised to see a masked Argonian. "I can pick it up, just might need a few trips." Lod seems unconvinced but he's rarely been wrong before to trust someone. "Maybe if you tell me what's going on, I could help you..." Goblin hesitates but then decides to come clean and takes his mask off slowly. He cowers a bit, expecting fear and anger. Lod just stands there looking at him. "A-arentcha' gonna scream? Or yell for the guards?" he asks shakily? "No." Lod replies confidently. Goblin looks severely confused, it's the very first civilian that's ever seen him and hasn't tried to kill him. ".....why?" he asks curiously. "Because you're a human being just like me, you've given me no reason to attack you. " Goblin stares for a bit before shrugging it off and letting his guard down.  "Alright, i'm an inventor, I need materials and resources to create my gadgets." Lod interrupts finishing his thought "And since i'm a blacksmith i'm perfect to supply you.?" Goblin nods "Yes! I'm setting up shop in the Jerral mountains, so it may take all day to huff it." Lod looks shocked. "How are you going to live in the mountains?" He sounds unconvinced and that Goblin may be trying to scam him. "Just like the dwarves, I'm going to carve my home into the mountain." Lod seems intrigued. "That's quite...a feat there son. What will you be needing?" Goblin's face lights up. "Ah! I need at least 100 ingots of.....Dwarven metal, steel, Iron and anything useful, don't go out of your way though. " he says hoping he doesn't sound too greedy. "I can manage that, but that's going to be expensive." Lod trails on emphasizing the importance that he's compensated fairly. "I'll be good for it!! You'll get every septim I owe you." Goblin says firmly. "Then consider us in business." Lod says extending his arm for a firm handshake. "I hate to ask but I need a favor my friend..." Goblin says as they exchange a handshake.
