Chapter Six: The Brother
A/N I am so so sorry that it has taken me this long to update! I will try to write more often so you aren't sitting at the edge of your seats. Because this is so exciting right? Just kidding I know it's not yet, but it will be at one point! (most likely) This story is really starting to take shape and I'm super excited!!!!! Thank you so much for reading this ILY!
Sam's POV
"So, Sam, have you met the new kid yet? He's pretty cute if you ask me."
Sam watched as Jessica giggled, wiggling her eyebrows at him. Sam just rolled his eyes. Jess was always trying to set him up with someone and had gotten him into some pretty awkward situations because of it.
"No, Jess, I haven't seen him yet. He wasn't in any of my classes today. What was his name again? Gadreel? Gadriel? Godzilla?" Sam asked playfully. Jessica had been his best friend for three years and he loved her to pieces. She was always so happy and she had been there for him no matter what. He knew that he could always count on her.
"No, doofus, his name is Gabriel. Although the word is that some of the kids are starting to call him Gabriel," she said, whispering the last part.
"I don't understand, what's the difference?" Sam was confused.
"His real name is spelled G-A-B-R-I-E-L but kids are spelling it G-A-Y-B-R-I-E-L because somehow someone found out that he's homosexual. It just makes me sick that they would torment him that way. I mean, he's only been here a day and they've already decided that there's no way he can be 'cool' like them. It's sick and stupid and I think you should do something about it."
"Me? Why aren't you included? If I'm gonna be friends with this kid, then so are you."
"Fine, just see if you have any classes with him on Monday dipshit."
"Okay... Hey, are you and Lisa coming over tonight? We're having a movie night and-" Sam was cut off by someone yelling his name.
"SAM!!!!!"
"Oh no," Sam and Jess said at the same time.
"SAM!!!! I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU EVERYWHERE! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!"
"I've been right here since school let out, Becky," Sam replied, clenching his teeth. In reality he had been avoiding Becky. She just wouldn't leave him alone. For some reason the girl thought that they were soulmates and should be 'lovers of the night' or something.
Same looked at Jess for help, but she just waved and left. Sam sighed, realizing that she was probably trying to avoid being attacked by Becky. Again. That had been an interesting day.
Becky ran up and pounced on Sam, hugging him tight. She pulled back only after Sam had practically pried her off. She still had a hand on his chest and refused to remove it. He had asked her before and she had simply said 'no' and Sam was not about to start a brawl in school. So, he left it there and suffered through the conversation.
"I have been thinking about you for a long time, Sam," Becky spoke, attempting to be seductive.
"That's nice, Becky. Listen, I would stay longer but my brother needs me-"
"For what? Are you doing something together tonight? Are your parents gone? Is it something that you think is wrong, but feels so right?" Becky closed her eyes. "Do you ever get butterflies in your stomach when he touches your shoulder, Sam? Are you afraid to initiate a relationship? Because I can help!" Her eyes flew open and she removed her hand from Sam's chest to gesture to herself. Sam just stood there, mildly horrified.
"Uhm, Becky I don't really need your help to initiate a relationship-"
"Because you already have one?! OMG OMG OMG I AM TOTALLY WRITING ABOUT THIS!!! I mean, uhm, I wouldn't write about that, what? That would be crazy I mean what would I write? Like definitely not a smut scene where Dean softly caresses your waist and then your heart starts beating really fast and your nervous but excited and..." Becky continued on, but her eyes had closed as she daydreamed, and Sam saw an escape.
He ran.
~
Sam was squatted down in between two cars in the parking lot that was shared by the middle school and the high school. He had run as far as he could before he heard Becky shriek his name as she tried to find him. He had immediately ducked down to hide and was now by the driver's side of a goldish-beige Lincoln car. He sighed, wondering how long he would have to wait there until he could escape for his brother's car.
"Uhm, can I help you?"
Sam looked up to see a high school student staring him down.
"Not really, but thanks for asking," Sam replied a little nervously. The kid laughed.
"How long are you planning on staying there?"
"Do you see a girl with blonde hair wearing a plaid shirt with a green sweater vest over it? I plan on being here until she leaves," Sam said.
"Is she your girlfriend?"
"She seems to think so, but I haven't exactly agreed to it," Sam said, rolling his eyes.
"Ah, well she's walking this way. If you move over a little you can hide in my car," he offered.
"Your car? Where is it? Why do I have to.... Oh, this is your car, isn't it?" Sam questioned, feeling incredibly stupid.
"Yes, that would be my car. Now if you want to avoid your friend I would suggest you move over so I can get my car unlocked."
Sam moved over and watched the kid unlock his car. As soon as Sam heard the door click he pivoted, opened the door, and dove into the floor of backseat. Seconds after he had closed the door he heard Becky outside of the car talking to the kind stranger who had given him refuge.
A/N: I am trying to write this part while watching Dan and Phil and it is not going well...
"HELLO!!!!" Sam heard Becky scream.
"Hi there. Can I help you?"
"Absolutely. I'm looking for a tall, dreamy, brown-haired, sexy, plaid-wearing teen. He came this way and I think he's trying to seduce me by playing hide and seek. Have you ever done that with someone?"
"Uhhhh, no, I haven't," Sam heard the guy awkwardly reply. "And I think I did see your friend. He went, uhm, that way. He was with someone tall and I think he got into a car and probably went home so you should probably stop trying to find him because he isn't here anymore and-" he was cut off by Becky's daydreaming questions.
"WAS SAM WITH HIS BROTHER?! WHERE THEY STANDING REALLY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER?! Were they holding hands????!!!!!!" Becky seemed to say the last sentence quieter and more intense.
"I don't think they were holding hands.... Uhm, wait! I think I see him over there! He just went around that corner, so go get him I guess."
"REALLY?!?! OKAY OKAY GOODBYE THANK YOU!!!!" Sam heard her go running off and the front seat door opened.
"How are you doing beck there?"
"I'm fine. Thank you for doing that, by the way. What is your name? I just realized that I got in your car without actually knowing who you are," Sam said.
"My name is Castiel, and I see why you wanted to hide from her. Do you have someone you're supposed to be meeting? Or can I drop you off somewhere?"
"Uhm, well my brother normally drives me home, so if you could drop me off at his car, that would be nice. He drives a Chevy Impala; it's black."
"Alright, well I have to wait for my brother to get here and then-" Castiel was cut off by the passenger door opening.
"Hey-o Cassie! How was school? Meet any cute g-" The person stopped talking as they noticed Sam on the floor of the backseat. "Who are you? Has he kidnapped you? Blink once for yes and twice for no."
"Uhm, I have not been kidnapped, so I guess, I will-," Sam blinked twice, "-blink two times."
The new kid laughed and smiled at Sam. He stuck his hand back to Sam.
"I'm Gabriel."
"Wait, are you the new Gabriel? I'm a part of the unofficial welcoming committee with my friend, Jessica, so if you need help with anything, just ask. I'm Sam by the way."
Gabriel smiled at Sam and the two shook hands.
"Yes I am the 'new Gabriel' and thanks, I might take you up on that offer sometime."
They both grinned and stared at each other until they were startled out of the gaze by the car starting and Castiel laughing.
Gabriel turned around in his seat and faced the front, his ears red. The car started backing out of the parking space and Castiel began looking for Sam's brother's car.
~
"Okay I think I found his car, and I don't see your friend anywhere over here, so I think it's safe for you to look," Castiel spoke from the front seat. It had taken him five minutes to find and get to Sam's brother's car.
Sam sat up and looked out the window. Somehow, they had found Dean's car. Sam got out of the car and thanked Castiel for all of his help.
"I'll see you on Monday Gabe, okay?" Sam spoke through the car window.
"Yeah, okay," Gabe said, smiling and biting his lip. Sam got a little distracted, then realized he was staring and shook his head a little. He looked past Gabriel to see Castiel smile at them, then look out the front window and stiffen a little. Sam turned to see what had made Castiel panic.
Walking up to the car was Dean, a huge grin on his face.
"HEYA SAMMY!"
"Oh no," Sam groaned. Dean walked up and threw his arm around Sam. "Who are ya talkin to?" Dean looked into the car and then stiffened.
Hmmmm, that's weird. Do they know each other?
"Uhm, Dean this is Castiel and Gabriel. They helped me hide from Becky and offered to drive me over to your car."
"Hey Cas," Dean muttered a little. He coughed and then spoke to Sam, "Uhm Castiel and I have a few classes together so we've met already. Uhm, we should probably get going. Bye Gabriel, bye Cas. I'll see you on Monday?"
"Yeah," Castiel smiled a little, "definitely."
Sam and Dean walked over to the Impala and got in, Sam already wishing it was Monday.
~Gabriel's POV
"CAS? Since when do you let anyone call you Cas? Do you like him? Are you two dating?! WE'VE BEEN HERE FOR TWO DAYS HOW DO YOU ALREADY HAVE A BOYFRIEND?!" Gabe shouted after Sam and Dean had left.
"Shut up Gabe, he isn't my boyfriend," Castiel muttered, turning on the radio to drown out his brother.
As they pulled away from the school, both boys were daydreaming about hypnotic eyes, one pair green, the other hazel.
