Edrea hissed as her brother barreled into her, a poor attempt to wake her up, getting a furious kick to the gut in return. Groaning, Ron let out a string of curses, his hair disheveled after he tumbled down from the attack.
"Blimey, you little-." He shouted, stopping himself before he said something bad, knowing that his mother could hear them quite well despite the racket going on. "Wake up you sloth, mum said that she'll send George and Fred next, how can you sleep in this chaos anyways?" Instead explaining why she should simply wake up. He then added hopelessly "We'll leave for Hogwarts without you then."
The girl slowly moved, racking her eyes open, and letting out a big yawn. Snuggling herself inside the covers once more for the heat, before leaving the bed forlornly.
"Thanks, bro," Edrea mumbled sleepily as she saluted Ron with 2 fingers, and shoved him out of their shared bedroom, quickly getting ready to go to Hogwarts for the first time. Her thoughts drifted off to how she imagined it to be, she would often beg her brothers to tell her about it. A loud crash and a booming "FRED and GEORGE" snapped her out of it, as she quickly tied her hair up and jogged downstairs. Finding her mother yelling at the laughing Fred and George surrounded by yet another prank, her father smiling amusedly through his cup of coffee.
"Edrea, have you seen my prefect's badge?" Percy asked her urgently.
"No, I haven't, you want me to help look?" She answered, causing him to nod vigorously. And so they set out looking for it all around their house, avoiding the suitcases that their mother summoned, and a variety of pranks her brothers had set up.
About 2 hours later, the Weasleys stepped onto the night bus, getting ready to go to Hogwarts, their youngest looking at them sullenly. Rubbing her arm in a comforting manner, Edrea smiled at Ginny softly.
"It's going to be okay Ginny, you can come with us next year." She assured as Fred cut in, a lopsided grin adorning his features.
"Plus, it means you get all of mum's cooking, and get to be free of ickle Ronnikins here too. What wouldn't I do for such a privilege..." Putting a hand onto his chest dramatically.
"Blimey Fred, what've you got against me?" Ron asked annoyed, his brows furrowed as he crossed his arm.
"Yeah, Fred, how could you leave Percy over here out? He should be at the top of the list, I am highly disappointed in you." George chastised, causing Percy to grumble from where he was sitting. And when he went to scold the twin, he tripped, crashing into the bed in front of him with a thud.
Ginny giggled slightly, at the scene before her, as all of her older siblings smiled at her, Percy despite the pain and broken glasses their mother was fixing, Ron's scowl vanishing from his face, getting replaced by a fond look. While Edrea smiled proudly, seeing her sister's tiny quirk of lips. A few steps away, Arthur and Molly watched their children lovingly.
Their family moment was disrupted by the bus halting, causing them to jerk to the side, before getting out hurriedly. Arthur stayed behind, in order to pay, while Molly herded the kids to the station.
Looping her arms with Ginny the two ambled on, conversing with each other instead of listening to what their mother said.
"Now, what's the platform number?" Molly questioned, no one in particular.
'Nine and three-quarters!' piped Ginny, went over to hold her hand.
'Mum, can't I go ...' She whined
'You're not old enough, Ginny, now be quiet. All right, Percy, you go first.' Molly answered evenly.
After Percy, Molly sent the twins, who seemed content with wasting their time, and Edrea couldn't help the butterflies in her stomach as she waited for them to get through impatiently, tapping her feet as she half thought to volunteer herself, just to get there on time, and did so.
"Dad, can I go? These guys are taking too long." She exclaimed to Arthur, getting annoyed as it went on for 4 more minutes. Her father patted her head good-naturedly, making sure not to mess her hair up, knowing just how much it annoyed her.
"Why don't I take you and Ginny, yeah?" He answered softly, before taking her trolley himself and guiding the girls through it as they cheered. Making faces at the boys as they walked through. Smiling at the familiar scent of the smokey, oily train in front of her, and while she had found out about the wonders of platform 9/10 thanks to her older siblings, Edrea hadn't been on this train. Often just waving as her brothers went out to Hogwarts. Not this time though, this time she would get to go, to see the world outside the little village she had spent her life in.
She gave her father and little sister a hug, almost sinking into them, before moving on to her mother, who looked at her, teary-eyed. Smiling softly despite the pang in her heart at leaving, she boarded the train, found a clear compartment, and waved at her family as the train started to move.
Excitement coursed through her veins as she watched the landscape, running through the money-making plan in her head. This plan was fairly basic but good enough for her to work with it.
She had found out at a young age that she was immensely talented in getting money, like one time she set up a chess tournament with the prize money of 100 muggle knuts. Then had convinced Ron to play, and it was going well when a bulky threw the table at Ron and her for 'cheating' and using 'witch curses' on him. But this plan was foolproof, and probably not allowed, but that didn't matter too much. She intended on doing work for the other first years for a galleon on each page, and as her money racked up until 3rd year, and get candy. She would then distribute this to first and second years who can't go to Hogsmeade, and continue to do both of these side jobs until 7th year. Writing the main points down, in the master plan to get rich, in her diary, she slowly fell asleep.
Inessencent prodding woke her up, she looked up to find the twins peering at her.
"We're here Edrea, it's Hogwarts!" They proclaimed as Lee blew an air trumpet.
