The Schoolwide Sleepover

AN: Hi, guys! So, on the Wattpad app, there has been a new feature added where you can add pictures. I don't use the website so I don't know if they have to there or not but I have a pic or two of what I think Anna would look like. They aren't exactly perfect and I couldn't find more than one or two but would guys be interested in that? And do you have any suggestions for actors for her? I couldn't find any ginger actors that fit the age and personality of Anna. Thanks!

I hope you like this chapter. It's kind of a filler but I felt like we needed a chapter dedicated to a character who is greatly neglected. You'll see who that is when you read! I feel like it's too short but I'm always my own worst critic so I can't really say.

Anna felt sick. "Sirius Black?", She choked. Peeves nodded and dashed off, cackling as he went. Anna looked at her husband and put a hand in his shoulder, "Remus, darling, can you and Minnie gather the other teachers and students in the Great Hall? I need to talk to Albus." He kissed her cheek, "Stay safe." He turned to the Percy, the Head Boy, "Can you escort the Gryffindors to the Great Hall? Me and Minerva will handle everyone else." Percy, who was delighted at his status being acknowledged, nodded proudly and waved for the students to follow him. Hermione gave Anna a concerned look as she passed but remained silent.

The witch waited until everyone was out of earshot before whispering to the headmaster, "He's here Albus. We've heard rumors but I had hoped they were just lies spread by the media." She turned and Albus almost flinched at the fearful, broken look in her green eyes, "What are we going to do, Albus? What if he goes after Harry? I can't loose him, Albus!" He shushed her gently, "Worry not, my dear. We will do everything in our power to keep Harry safe. If you would like, you may sleep in the Great Hall with the students. All of the other teachers will be searching the castle and you have a gift for calming them." She sighed, "Very well, but we should hurry. If Black is still here we don't have much time to waste."

*Time Skip*

After Albus's speech, all of the students began to talk at once. All of the Ravenclaws, Slytherins, and Hufflepuffs wanted to know what was happening and all of the Gryffindors wanted to gossip about what happened. Wincing from the noise, the ginger professor decided this simply wouldn't do. She brought her fingers to her lips and whistled sharply, "Oi! All of you sit down on your sleeping bags and I'll tell you what happened!"

After she explained to everyone, they became much quieter. They settled for whispering in groups as they sat on their sleeping bags. Hermione ran up to her, "Professor!" Anna kneeled and hugged the young Gryffindor, "Hermione, how are you?" Hermione smiled a little, "I'm fine, a little spooked, but fine." Anna grinned and patted her back, "That's my brave girl! Where's Harry?"

Hermione led the elder witch to her friend who perked up when he saw his aunt, "Aunt Anna!" She smiled and made her own sleeping bag appear on the floor next to the trio and their friends, "Hello Harry, are you alright?" He nodded, happy she was there. Anna sat criss-cross-applesauce on her bag and examined all of Harry's friends.

Ron and Hermione seemed okay. Sophia didn't seem very thrilled with having to sleep on the floor but was content with chatting with Hermione and her other friends. She noticed that the Weasleys had placed their sleeping bags fairly close to one another, though not necessarily right beside each other. Ginny and Neville were her main concern. Ginny looked frightened, though Anna was not sure if she was scared for herself or for Harry. Neville looked very jumpy and nervous. Anna frowned, but didn't approach him. She didn't want to embarass him.

Much later in the night, she found herself unable to find sleep. She was too worried about the kids. Neville, she noticed, was also awake. Has sitting in deep thought with his knees hugged close to his chest. She took this opportunity to approach him. She smiled gently and patted the spot next to him, "Is this seat taken?" He looked at her curiously but shook his head.

She sat down and sighed before looking over at him, "They would be so proud." His head snapped over too her, "Who would?" "Your parents."

He laughed dryly, "I doubt that." She furrowed her brow and shook her head, "Neville, I knew Alice and Frank quite well and I know they would be so happy about how you turned out." He looked at her with wide eyes, "You were friends with my parents?" She nodded, "We were all pretty close. Harry's parents knew them too." If possible, his eyes got even wider, "What were they like?"

She smiled, "Well Alice was clumsy. She tripped twice during her sorting, you know. She made the stool fall over. Her face went as red as my hair." Neville laughed a bit, "I forgot to take the hat off and ended up having to take it back. I was red then too." Anna laughed too but her eyes softened "But she was also very kind and did whatever she could to help. She was top of the class in herbology but I had to tutor her in a lot of subjects. Especially potions." She paused, "Frank was very friendly and kind too. He was protective of his friends and always spoke his mind. But don't let that fool you, he could be very shy at times. He took ages to asked your mum out. He always used to blush when the teacher called on him in class, too."

She smiled almost dreamily as she continued, "You know you remind me a lot of your mum. Though you've got quite a bit of Frank in you two. He was a Gryffindor, but Alice was a Hufflepuff. That didn't stop her from becoming one of the finest Aurors I've ever worked with." Neville smiled but it slowly melted into a frown, "And now I've let both of them down by being such a-a-"

"A kind, caring, hardworking boy? Neville you are bullied all of the time but you still remain so helpful and sweet. On top of that, you are the most honest person I have met. You tell the truth even if it means getting in trouble. That's what makes you amazing. Those are the traits that Alice and Frank cared about, not the quality of your potions or your strength. They would encourage you to be what you want to be. They would never try and make you be an Auror if you didn't want to. I don't know what you will end up doing with your life, but I know that you'll be fantastic at it."

He looked at her in the eye with a flicker of hope in his eyes, "How do you know?" She paused, "Neville. Do I seem weak to you? Am I a nobody? Am I a disgrace of a witch? Am I worthless? Am I a freak?" The shy boy's eyes widened for a moment in surprise and shook his head hastily, "No, ma'am. You're the best teacher I've ever had!" She laughed slightly and looked at her hands with a sad smile on her face, "Well that's what the pureblood bullies used to tell me when I was a just girl. In fact, I was called freak before I even came to Hogwarts. I believed it for a little bit, too. Little did I know that all that time I doubted myself, I had the potential to be the woman I am today. I think you have that same potential. Not everyone is born great, Neville' some of us have to take the slow path to get greatness. It doesn't matter where that path takes you, Neville, just know that you aren't the first and you are most definitely not alone."

Anna looked at the young boy and realized he was crying she was about to apologize but then he smiled gratefully, his eyes watery, "Thank you." He hugged her but quickly pulled away with a blush, "Sorry, no one has ever told me that. So, yeah, thanks." She smiled and brushed some hair out of his face, "It's fine Neville. And don't worry about Sirius Black. As long as I'm here, he won't get within fifty feet of you, I promise." He nodded gratefully, "I think I should get to bed. Good night, Professor." She grinned, "You can call me Anna when we aren't in class, Nev." He looked a it puzzled but didn't argue, "Alright, Goodnight, Anna." She kissed his forehead, "Good night, Neville."

She stood up to go back to her sleeping bag but she wasn't tired at all. The witch was just contemplating conjuring a book to read when she heard a voice, "Anna! Over here!" She spun around, wand aimed in the direction the sound came from, only to find her husband poking his head through the door way of the great hall. She carefully navigated the maze of slumbering witches and wizards until she reached him.

As soon as they'd made it out of earshot, she looked at him eagerly, "Any sign of him?" Remus shook his head sadly, "Fraid not."

He really hated that. They had searched high and low for the escapee but to no avail. What irritated him even more was that neither him nor Anna could tell the ministry their knowledge about his animagus form. Neither of the Lupins were stupid, they knew that they could face serious charges for withholding such important information for as long as they had. The ministry already had a grudge disliked them. They could even get sent to Azkaban or a more minor wizard prison. The very thought made him grimace. He would not have his Anna be separated from him and put in chains. And even if they didn't, it would be grounds to fire the both of them, leaving Harry with people like Severus and that Malfoy kid.

She seemed to see how disheartened he was by the news and kissed his cheek. The redhead pulled away with a sad smile, "We'll get him Remy. All we have to worry about are the kids. He's bound to pop up eventually. That man was never one for being patient." He laughed a bit, "That's true. Every Christmas he'd always search for his presents or peak into the box." At this Anna burst into laughter, "That's true! We had to cast a spell on the gifts that turned his hair green if he tried to get into them!"

He began to laugh too and Anna realized that there was still a chance that Sirius was innocent. It dawned on her that she had put a lot of her faith lately...on a mere dream. She scolded herself. The more she thought about the brilliant man she had come to love as a brother, the more she started to think that she had been too quick to jump to conclusions. At that point she promised herself that she would confront Sirius first. If she found him innocent, she would help him. But if she found him guilty....

Remus and Anna's laughter died down and she sighed, "I need to get to bed. I haven't been able to sleep." He grinned, "Well McGonagall told me she was going to come down here when she was done searching the last few classrooms. We could go up to our room and leave it to her." The offer to good to pass up, she caved and took his arm. Before they left, though, she insisted on checking on the kids first.

As the too looked at the sleeping kids, their expressions turned a little dreamy. "They're so cute when they aren't awake," Whispered Remus. She sighed with a look of sadness and regret as she replied, "I wish we could have kids." He hugged her from behind, "We have Harry." She she smiled softly and looked up at him where he rested his chin on her shoulder, "Yeah, we do don't we?"

As Lupins walked away, hand in hand, the fox felt a surge of motherly protectiveness jolt through her.

Indeed, she would let Sirius go if he turned out to be good. But if he really was on the side of the Deatheaters, if he really did want Harry dead...

Then he wouldn't be the first Death Eater to die at the hands of Anna Rose Lupin.

AN: In case you were wondering, I chose her middle name because her sisters are named after flowers.
