Chapter 6

The Bakusquad had called a meeting, and we were all now sitting in Kami and Sero's room.

"Some hook ups need to happen during this trip." Kami said, sprawling out over his bed so that his head hung upside down off the edge. "All these cute girls in our class- someone needs to snatch up one of them!"

"Well, Mido's got the hots for Todo if that helps." I piped up, nonchalantly picking at some popcorn that Sero had put on the side. The fact that it was almost gone - mostly because of me - reminded me that we had been in here for a while and would need to go to bed soon.

"Did you guys not see him at lunch? He totally does!" Kiri laughed.

"Oh my gosh! Has he admitted it yet?" Mina gasped. I shook my head. Apparently, Ochaco had asked him if he liked someone and he went on the defensive.

"He might not wanna come out. We should leave him to it." Sero calmy added.

"Yeah. Let's whittle down the hetros!" Kami chuckled deviously.

"So, you're happy to stay single for a while longer?" The blonde promptly whacked Kiri round the back of the head with his pillow.

"Got your eye on anyone, Kiri?" Mina pestered.

"Nah."

"What about you, Katsu-kun?" I asked slyly.

"Definitely not. Even if I was interested in dating someone, none of you shitty extras would meet my expectations." I gave an 'oof' as I rolled onto my back, pretending to have been shot in the heart.
"You're stone cold, Bakubro." Laughed Kiri.

"That's the point, shitty hair."

"What, so you're not interested in dating anyone at all? Why so frigid?" Asked Kami. "Dating is a fundamental part of high school."

"I'm surprised you can even pronounce fundamental. I'd rather focus on school. Becoming the number one is my goal in life. Girls don't matter." That comment stung a little. Not that I was planning on dating him or anything! But I did want to get to know him better and... Why am I trying to justify myself to you?

"Look! Hinami looks heartbroken!" I looked up, trying to shake whatever expression I was pulling off of my face. Kastu was looking at me intensely.

"I am! How could you say such a thing, Katsu-kun? You wouldn't even consider dating me?"

"No. I definitely wouldn't date you." Sniffling, I wiped away a fake tear, making the rest of the group laugh. There was a knock on the door, and Tenya called in to tell us that it was curfew, and that we all needed to go to our own rooms. Grumbling and complaining, we picked ourselves up and started to walk upstairs.

"Night guys!"

"Sleep well, Kiri!"

"Night!"

"Laters, shitty hair." Kiri waved at us all before entering his room. The remaining three of us walked up to the top floor.

"Night Bakugo." Mina yawned, unlocking our door and opening it.

"See you in the morning, Katsu-kun." He opened his own door and entered his room without replying. Mina shrugged and went inside. When I looked back, Katsu locked eyes with me for a second.

"See you, Hinami..." He murmured before quickly shutting his door.

What a peculiar boy...

"Come on, Hinami! Time to get up!" Mina yelled, hitting at me with her pillow. I grumbled as my eyes slowly opened.

"What-"

"We're going on a jog, remember?" For fuck's sake Dad. Nodding groggily, I slowly sat up, shook myself awake, and started getting ready.

"Stupid Father, making us go on a fucking jog..." I muttered angrily under my breath.

"Did you just say 'stupid Aizawa'?" Mina laughed. Oh crap, my first slip up! Luckily, she misheard me. I nodded again. I'm definitely not a morning person...

We all gathered in the clearing and got ready to go on our jog. Should I just put down a mirror and come back through after a few minutes to get out of doing it? No, Dad would probably expect me to do that and look out for mirrors...

"I'm gonna beat you, Deku, you shitty nerd!" I heard Katsu yell. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"It's not a competition, Kacchan."

"I'll still kick your ass anyway!"

"Katsuki Bakugo. Shut up. It's too early for your shit." Everyone looked at me in shock. "Carry on being an asshole, and I'll make you jog at the back of the group with me. Got it?" He looked at me wide-eyed for a moment, trying to gauge if I was serious or not. I glared back firmly. Like I said. Not a morning person. He turned away sulkily, but kept quiet.

"Damn, Hata. You're like a lion tamer." Sato laughed.

"I can't believe you really shut him up." Ojiro added.

"She even called him by his full name for added effect." Tokoyami joked.

"It wasn't that impressive, calm down." I deadpanned. Sometimes I marvel at how much I sound like my father.

"Ready?" Mic called from the front of the group. I could hear Tenya's engines rumble as they warmed up. "Let's go!"

Some of the try hards, like Katsu, Mido, Tenya and Todo, rushed off ahead. Most of us set up a steady pace and slowly made our way through the yellow speckled forest. I was at the back, but that suited me just fine. The forest was so pretty this early in the morning. The rising sun coated everything in a warm, honey coloured glow, and a gentle breeze weaved lazily through the trees, brushing the leaves as it passed.

"Are you not going to speed up?" Kami called back from a few meters in front of me.

"No. I already know how fast I am. I can't be bothered to prove something so pointless to myself this early in the morning." He chuckled and agreed, falling back to run next to me.

"Hey, Hinami... I know we've only been friends for like, a week. But I consider you - and the rest of the Bakusquad - my best friends. And I like, really trust you..."

"Do you want to tell me a secret? Or do you need advice?" I asked, very interested in his sudden embarrassed look.

"Kind of... Both, I suppose."

"What's up?"

"How... Well... I like..."

"Spit it out, Kami."

"I like a boy..." He whispered.

"Is that it?" He looked taken aback at my blunt reply.

"What do you mean?"

"That's not a big deal, Kami. Nobody cares if you're gay."

"I'm- I'm not!" I raised my eyebrows at him. "I like girls! I like tits!" He accidentally yelled the last part a little too loud and was sent a few withering looks from the people in front of us.

"So you like boys and girls?"

"Yes." He responded, dropping his volume again. "Is that... normal? Am I supposed to do that?"

"Am I- hahaha! Am I supposed to- haha! Kami, you're a riot!" I managed between laughs.

"I'm being serious!" He pleaded.

"Kami, you're not broken. Many people like men and women."

"They... They do?"

"Yeah. I do."

"You do?"

"So does my dad." 'Or, one of them does, at least' I added in my mind.

"He does?"

"Yeah. Loads of other people too. It's called being bisexual."

"Bisexual..." He said slowly, as if he was seeing how the word felt in his mouth.

"You've really never heard of it before?" He shook his head.

"And you're bisexual?"

"Yep."

"How did you know?"

"Well, I was in middle school and there was a super pretty girl. So I told my parents that I had a crush on her. Then a few days later, a new boy joined our school and I had a crush on him. Then as I was telling my parents about this guy I kind of went 'oh, so does that mean I'm like Dad?' and they said that I was. I guess it's easier when your family is... uh... pretty un-straight." I shrugged uncertainly. When I looked over at Kami, he was staring at me in wide-eyed wonder. After a few seconds of silence, I started to feel a little uncomfortable.

"So I'm bisexual."

"Sure seems like it. But there's no need to rush into a label. Or even label yourself at all, really." He nodded intently and looked at the ground like he was deep in thought. We were silent for the rest of the run. I thought I'd let him stay in his own mind for a little while. Serious Kaminari isn't someone we see a lot of.

As we got to the last legs of our run, I breathed a sigh of relief. I knew we were close to the end because I could hear Katsu and Kiri bickering - or, more, Katsu yelling his head off while Kiri laughed at him.

"That's everyone!" Mic yelled as me and Kami jogged past him. "You have half an hour for breakfast, then a few hours of training, then a break, some more training, lunch, then - yes ladies and gentlemen, you guessed it! Some more training." I mentally face palmed at his antics. Only my dad could have this much energy at six-thirty in the morning. I raised my hand. Dad pointed at me, a big grin on his face. "And no you may not go back to sleep!" Groaning, I lowered my hand in defeat.

We had decided as a class to all sort out our own breakfast. There were bowls and plates ready for us all, and on the table was an assortment of cereals, pastries, toast, toppings... It was a breakfast dream. There were also large pots of coffee and teas, courtesy of Yaomomo. As I started pouring myself out a coffee - no milk and lots of sugar, just like my father has it - I thanked my lucky stars that our class was blessed with our very own Yaomomo. What an angel. I can't survive without coffee.

"You're so like your father." Uncle murmured as he stood next to me, pouring out a cup of earl grey tea.

"Is that a compliment?" I asked, sipping at the burning liquid. He simply smiled at me knowingly before walking over to address Mido. The two of them seemed pretty close, and it was weird. What could be going on with them? As much as I hate to admit it, seeing my uncle pay so much attention to another kid my age made me feel kind of... well... jealous! I'm the only child in our makeshift family, so I'm so used to being doted over and getting all the attention-

"Hey! Shit head!" Katsu waved me over grumpily. He was sitting with the Bakusquad and the Dekusquad too.

"Hey!" I smiled at them, walking over. "What's up?"

"You looked like you were thinking. I wanted to snap you out of it before you hurt yourself." Katsu replied harshly, before tearing into one of his two bacon sandwiches. Not really in the mood to play games, I slipped into the seat next to him and drank some more coffee.

"Have you already eaten?" Asked Deku kindly. When I shook my head, he gave me a concerned look. "You have to eat breakfast."

"I know. There's just so much here. I can't make a decision."

"So you're gonna have nothing at all?" Kiri lectured, taking up a surprisingly motherly tone. "That's very bad for you! If you're going to be training all day, you need to eat to keep your strength and energy-"

"Shut up, shitty hair." Katsu butt in, sliding his plate in front of me, refusing to look in my direction. "She's got something now." I looked at the plate. It had his remaining sandwich on it. I looked between him and the food a few times in disbelief. The others looked shocked too.

Did he really just give me his food? That's...

That's the nicest thing anyone has seen him do so far!

Wanting to show my appreciation, I quickly picked up the sandwich and took a large bite. The butter had melted slightly, and the bacon was perfectly crisp. When I couldn't help but smile, Deku and Kiri gave a relieved look and carried on eating their own breakfasts. After a few bites, I found a bit of fat on the bacon, causing me to stop and peel it off. I hate the fat. It's all chewy and slimy. Ew.

"Do you not eat the fat either?" Todo nodded at me.

"Can't stand it."

"My big sister always yells at me for being fussy when I pick it off at home."

"My dad does the same." I chuckled, remembering all the times my dad had yelled at both me and my father as we peeled the fat off our meat in silent disgust. We smiled at each other.

"I didn't know you had a big sister, Todoroki!" Uraraka gasped. She started talking about how she always wanted a sibling, and I zoned out, focusing on finishing my food.

Soon enough, my father called everyone's attention, told us to finish up, and get to training. We all complied swiftly, not wanting to anger him while we were stuck here for a week. I looked back at him for a moment as he put his morning eye drops in. I wanted to call back 'love you Dad, love you Dadzawa, love you Uncle' more than anything. Dad caught my eye across the room and must have seen my sad look. He waved with a big smile. I sent back a smaller smile and went outside.

Time for some training.

(A/N) Hey there Insanities (the name of my readers for those unaware)! It's been a while since we spoke like this.

I just wanted to pop in and see what you think of the book so far? If you like it, please vote for the chapters so I know. Instead of doing two chapters every Friday, I might change to doing one on Tuesdays and one of Fridays? I have a lot written in advance, so I don't need to worry about that. I just want to get a few chapters up quickly so the action starts as I'm aware that it's a little slow at the moment with all of the characterisation ans relationship building. Anyways, comment your thoughts, vote if you're enjoying yourself, and see you on Tuesday!
