The Final Battle (Part Three)
Eclipse's POV
I stumbled some as I walked towards the doors so I could leave the training room. I had to blink continuously to clear my eyes. I was used to this form, yet it still decided to be a bit of a pain. My sense of balance was slowly returning as I was walking, and that gave me a bit of confidence.
It'll be fine. All I have to do is take down David. The man that started this whole mess. He won't stop, whether I'm a full Nightfury or not. Surely by now he would realize I was changed, and that's why he hasn't seen me out there.
I shoved the front doors open, staring ahead at the fight in front of me. The ships were awfully close to the shore, but Hiccup and Toothless were taking care of that.
Toothless turned in my direction, seeing me up and walking. A relieved facial expression came upon him, and he immediately came running in my direction. He stood in front of me and started rubbing his head against mine like a cat might. I gave him the same affection, before continuing to walk forwards. Now's not the time for that. We both have business to attend to.
"Eclipse!" His voice shot out as I raised my wings. I turned towards him, a curious look upon my face.
"Promise me you'll be careful." His voice turned soft and scared, looking over at me. "I promise," I lied through my teeth, knowing I had no choice no matter what ended up happening.
I flew up, quickly making my way over to the ships. I shot through plenty of them as I made my way forwards. I knew I couldn't stop what I was doing to help anyone yet, even though I spotted Astrid cornered on a ship. I know Stormfly has her back, I have no reason to worry for her.
I saw David standing on a large ship, pointing up at me. Nets shot out, catching me unprepared. I tried dodging it, but it caught the edge of my tail, sending me down towards his ship.
I tried to flap my wings to fly back up, but it grew difficult with the net on my tail. I landed on his ship, right on my back. I heard a crack come from my body, but I got up nonetheless. One of the base bones in my wing is shattered, which caused my left wing to droop down.
"Ah, glad to see you joined us, Eclipse." His voice was deep, and his expression annoyed me. A smile upon that mad face he has. The only reason he'd smile is if people around him are dying, it's sick.
I stood steadily on my feet, trying to drag the net off of my tail as it swung back and forth behind me.
I can't get out of here with my wing this damaged, better hope for the best.
Toothless's POV
Eclipse fell to the biggest ship. She hasn't flown back up, and it was terrifying me. She's okay, right? Yeah. Yeah, of course she's okay. It's Eclipse. She's a strong capable female . . .
The question gnawed at my stomach, but I knew I had to continue distracting the men here, I didn't have a choice. If any of us stop doing our task, or mess up, we could very easily die, and I don't want that.
I don't want to lose anyone . . . They all matter to me.
I aggressively took down the men, trying to clear my mind of anxious thoughts about Eclipse. The most we all can do for her at this moment is fight along side her. The men came towards me, a wide variety of unknown weapons being lunged in my direction. Hiccup was back at my side now, accompanied by the twins.
Ruffnut's POV
I threateningly swung my sword from side to side, looking down upon those who dare face us. Tuffnut had his back pressed against my own as we slowly began to be crowded by the overwhelming amount of men. The boats just kept seeming to flood in from no where. How were we supposed to defeat so many?
"Tuffnut, stop pressing up against me, I know this is some type of battle tactic, but you don't smell good at all!" I announced. Here I was thinking his breath was bad enough, but man, you really can't let a guy go without bathing for too long around here.
"Shut up Ruffnut! As if you have any room to speak!!" He grumbled a few other incoherent words under his breath, not seeming to have a comeback for what I said to him. A small victory smile made its' way onto my lips, before the men turned towards us with their swords threateningly pointed towards us.
"What te hell are ye talkin' 'bout? Ye morons! We aren't 'ere to listen to yer ramblings!" One man shouted, immediately receiving a hit from my axe I brought along. I guess I shouldn't have thrown it, because it wasn't the blade that hit him, it was the hilt.
God, why can't we all be as cool as Astrid, then I'd get all the guys. But I guess my good looks are all I need, whereas she needs some special talent.
"Bloody imbeciles, and their back up already left 'em! Shows ya how much they value you two on te team!" Another joined in, hitting his mace on Tuffnut's shield.
"Uhh, Tuff, I don't have a weapon anymore . . ." I worriedly squeaked out, hearing the familiar sound of Barf and Belch's exploding gas.
A smirk replaced my 'slightly' worried expression as the men tried to race off, knowing what the substance was. Our dragons immediately chased after them nonetheless . . . But I do have to wonder where Toothless and Hiccup went. And why would they leave at that time?
Sam's POV
I couldn't spot Eclipse, I think she took down almost everyone on the main ship though. I think He went down inside the ship, probably luring her into a trap. Oh Gods, I hope she'll be alright. I wouldn't want to risk anything bad happening to her right now.
I'll just continue taking down as many ships as I can.
So far, by the looks of it, there aren't any more ships coming from the horizon, and about a third of them are down. The only problem there is, I don't know where Snotlout, Fishlegs, Hookfang, and Meatlug are anymore.
I'm worried we're slowly losing our advantage.
Hiccup better come up with a good plan soon, or we're screwed.
"Wat te Hell are ye doin' on me ship! Get yer sorry bum off me ship! Ye lousy fish snack!" A lady emerged from the ship that I figured was empty.
Woah, there's not just guys here.
Okay, so it's not a sexist crew- not that I was thinking that.
But holy Hell, she doesn't look half bad. I'm shocked. Most of these guys haven't been too bad themselves, but we get the occasional guy with half his face burned off, or an arm missing.
I need to be around girls more often, because I already know she can tell I'm unsure whether to fight her or just stare over at her.
"Oh, I'm sorry, didn't know it was bring your kid to work day. Might wanna go hide back inside the ship though, wouldn't want you getting hurt on your fathers watch." I snidely comment. Whoops . . . Wow, I'm horrible at talking to girls. She actually looks my age as well, guess it was more of a height comment.
"Ye wanna die? Cause I can make that happen!" She threateningly pulled out a sword. Ah, no. I can't hit a woman. I respect them too much- just leave the fighting to horny idiotic boys!
"Woah, woah, woah, de-stress your breasts, lady! I wouldn't want to lose to such a lovely lady, imagine the disrespect I'd gather from the guys. Hell, you look like a quite experienced woman." Personality, not so nice. I'll keep a few notes of this.
"Ye have no right to talk to me like that, laddie. Ye better choose yer next few words carefully, 'fore I to kill ye." She insisted, approaching me slowly.
Why does everyone aside from Eclipse's close friends have really thick Viking-like accents? Is it just me that finds it strange?
I'm getting far too sidetracked. But like, I'm asking the real questions here! Hasn't anyone else noticed??
Eclipse's POV
I glared up at him, standing stiffly as I kept eye contact. I tried not to make it very apparent that my wing was causing me extreme pain, so I toughened up, and prepared to attack him.
"Seems you aren't so strong now, are you? No friends to come save you in a situation like this, huh, sweetheart." The way his tongue twisted over the word sickened me.
"Let's just get this over with, once and for all. If you haven't noticed quite yet, this world is barely capable of handling one of us, so two is far too many. Sacrifices need to be made." His eyes were coated over with a murderous look.
I growled, lowering myself somewhat as I felt my throat preparing to shoot.
He charged towards me with a double sided axe. It was fairly larger than the one I would see Astrid carrying around as she practiced her fighting.
Time seemed to slow down as his cry reached my ears as he charged. I lowered my body down, and began to charge forwards, hoping to catch him as off guard as possible.
As he swung the axe, time seemed to go back to its normal speed. It hit me directly against my jaw. I hissed from the pain, feeling a bit of a sting as blood dripped out. It shouldn't be strong enough to hurt me-
The hit caused me to stumble sideways, but I wasn't planning on letting him have the upper hand. I turned right back towards him. I was preparing to shoot, when suddenly I felt the net around my tail begin to pull me towards the water.
I turned to see what the issue was, only to be faced by twenty vikings pulling me towards the cold water. It was making my tail numb. Blood couldn't travel down there because of how tight it was on me.
I winced in pain, turning my attention back to David. He was gleaming with a smile from ear to ear as he watched my suffering. "I hope you enjoyed yourself, shifter, because your time is up!" He brought two fingers to his mouth and whistled.
I prepared a shot deep in my throat, shooting it at him as quickly as I could. He stepped to the side, watching as it passed him. He moved so quickly . . . he dodged at an alarming speed.
I turned to look back at the men behind me, knowing I was at a great disadvantage. I noticed a needle slowly being pulled from my tail from one of the men. They injected me with something. My whole vision was beyond blurry and my whole body was awfully uncomfortable.
I can't go down like this.
I felt a shove of adrenaline spread from the top of my head to the tip of my tail. I charged at full force towards David, forcing my best out of me although I could barely seem to keep my own balance.
As my tail escaped the boundaries of the net, I could feel blood dripping down it. My tailfins were gone. I already knew they were. I couldn't feel them- and there's no way the men let go for any reason.
Tears threatened to fall from my eyes, but I shut them tightly, that way I didn't have to see the outcome of what was about to happen.
I felt Davids warm body around my front feet as I grabbed him and held him against my chest. I raised my wings, giving a strong pump up, even though I knew that no matter how hard I try, I'm not going to be able to fly very well.
I pulled my wings in, opening my eyes to the sight of the ocean down below me. I ignored Davids shrill yells as he noticed we were both going head first towards the ocean.
"You'll never beat us, monster!"
Sam's POV
"Woah, hey, calm down with that weapon, ma'am!" I would never do a death match with a lady. Especially if she's my type.
"Are ye a bloody moron? This is a battle- stop yer screwing 'round!" She threateningly spun her weapon in one hand as she walked closer to me.
"Hey- I'm not really the fighting type- least, not against someone as charming as you," I flirted back.
"Oh shut up ye idiot!" She wasn't amused.
She turned to look around, no longer facing me. I turned to look at what she was peering towards.
"The boss es down," she mumbled to herself as she observed the ships sinking all around her.
"Listen- I think you're a pretty cool person! You wouldn't be the only 'bad guy' we took in either- I mean, we have Eret-" I enthused. She threateningly pointed a dagger up towards my throat, to which I raised my hands up in defeat.
"Yer lying." She nervously glanced back up at me. Her whole bad girl act seemed to be crumpling up a bit. She knows her side is on the brink of defeat.
"Surely I wouldn't be if I'm allowing you to hold a dagger to my throat!" I chuckled, raising an eyebrow at her.
Toothless's POV
We cleared the people on the beach! We're doing it! We're gonna win!
Hiccup was back on my back, and we were heading towards the ship I last saw Eclipse on. I could feel both of our nerves as I got closer and closer.
Most of the ships were already sunken, and everyone was properly finishing them off. I pounded my wings as hard as I could as I got closer and closer to the ship.
I shot down the men that were trying to attack me, followed by the ship once I realized she was no longer on it. Where was she?
Eclipse's POV
We were sinking deeper and deeper, and I could no longer feel any part of my body. My brain was even beginning to power down. The blue water around us was becoming more and more red as we sunk down. I couldn't see the top anymore.
I continued holding him close to me, not letting him escape without me.
If either of us are going to make it out of here it's definitely not going to be him. I'm not risking my friends lives for this imbecile.
