Chapter 8 (Edited)
"The Sacrifice - Part 1"
When Elijah told me about killing Niklaus, I never thought he was serious enough, that it was something just of the moment but then I realized he was dead serious. And he had made a deal with Elena Gilbert -The newest Whore Petrova Doppelgänger (seriously, she was taking a wild card out of Katerina's playbook. Playing with two brothers. This time, it wasn't Elijah or Niklaus, my cousin was smart enough to fall for that a second time; No, this time the brothers were Stefan and Damon Salvatore. I noticed the way she looked at them. Just like Katherine and Tatia did to my cousins)- and her group of friends to take down Niklaus.
And I found out when Elijah told me to take down Katherine's compulsion after Stefan got trapped on tomb with her. I didn't want to get involved too much, not until the time of the sacrifice so I told him he could easily take her compulsion away, explaining to him I had given him the chance. Unfortunately for Elijah, my non involvement caused him to be daggered. How could they have known about that? How did they know about temporally killing one of us?
After he got undaggered by Elena Gilbert (smart cow -Yes, I don't like her anymore), Elijah kept me updated with everything happening. Niklaus being in town already, having possessed one of the teacher's body. Elena and her friends still believed they were going to break the Sun and the Moon curse, or they did until Elijah explained the real meaning. The Sun and the Moon curse was fake for the ingredients needed were easier to get. And what's easier? Only original vampires looking for it or vampires and werewolves equally searching thinking they'll break their slavery to the sun and the Moon respectively? Obviously the second, and that's why that meaningless curse was created.
The reality of the curse was to help Niklaus to break free from his own curse, to wake up his wolf side hidden within him (at first we were shocked when we realized Niklaus was both, a vampire and a werewolf. Now I knew it was bad idea, giving him all that power. Elijah was right. But, we had helped him because we loved him.
Always and Forever
Our motto, something that means a lot to me and it's encrypted in the back of the necklace I always wear.
The Sacrifice was close already. Elijah called, reminding me of the full moon being tonight. And I knew he meant Niklaus was ready for the sacrifice to be today. I knew he wouldn't wait another month. So here I was, arriving the Salvatore Boarding House where Elijah texted me he was with the Doppelgänger and the Salvatore Brothers.
I gave my word to Elijah that I would help him get rid of Niklaus, and like Elijah, I never break my promises.
When I reached the front door, I crossed my arms eyeing the doorframe with an eyebrow raised. It didn't take a fool to notice the house had a human owning it. Probably Elena, if she was protecting herself from Niklaus.
"Elijah, honey. I'm home" I leaned against the wall, waiting for my cousin. A small amused smile playing on my lips when i heard a heartbeat getting closer along footsteps before the door was opened.
Katherine's look-alike widened her eyes once she saw me at the door. "Klarysse?" She asked shocked. I wriggled my fingers at her in a greeting seeing the confused looks Stefan and Damon flashed us from over Elena's shoulder. "What are you doing here?"
"If you really want my help dear, tell her to let me in" I told my cousin once he came to view, stopping next to Damon.
"Do you know her, Elena?" Damon asked Elena
Elijah shook his head sighing silently. "Elena, Stefan, Damon. This is Klarysse Massen" Elijah introduced us.
"Another team player who's ready to take Klaus down" I said faking excitement, pumping my fist up, smiling at them "Can I come in now?" I looked at Elena expectantly
Elena looked hesitant of letting me in. It made my fake smile fade.
Elijah noticed, however. "Elena, I assure you that Klarysse will behave in your presence, right Klarysse?" Elijah looked at me pointedly. I narrowed my eyes. I knew he was expecting me to give my word. Whenever we did, we were the only who kept our promises.
I sighed after a moment, nodding slowly "Of course Elijah. I'll behave in Elena's presence. I won't try to kill her" I said smiling falsely at Elena. "You have my word"
Elijah smiled thinly, knowing I wasn't pleased of forcing me to give my word to someone related to the one who separated and placed tension in my family. "You see Elena, Klarysse shares my view of keeping my word. I ensure you now she won't go against what she promised. We're very alike in that case" Elijah explained to Elena warmly.
Elena nodded in consideration, looking back at me, "If that's true, then something else and I'll invite you in" I smiled sarcastically, gesturing her forward. "Don't hurt Stefan or Damon either"
I chuckled, seeing the surprise in Damons face. Oh, someone has unrequited love. Interesting.
"There's no need for that" I rolled my eyes, "They're safe from me. I have no desires of killing either of them. You have to trust me on that"
Elena sighed looking at the brothers. "Okay" she said hesitantly, looking back at me "Come in"
I felt the barrier fading as I walked inside, giving them a smile. "So, how far are we on the plan?" I asked stepping next to Elijah, turning to face them.

Elijah, Stefan, Elena and I were at the library, discussing about the curse.
"Tonight's the full moon" Elijah told the others. "We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse"
"Elena said the sun and the moon curse is fake" Stefan said. I smirked slightly impressed "That its just actually a curse placed on Klaus"
"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline," Elijah explained "The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it, he'll be a true hybrid"
"Then why are we letting him break the curse?" Damon asked as he walked in "We can kill him today. With Bonnie"
"Damon..." Stefan trailed off
I watched in amusement.
"No," Elena shook her head "Bonnie can't use that much power without dying"
"I'll write her a great eulogy" Damon told them
"It's not an option, Damon" Elena said.
I sighed silently
"All right, how do we break this curse?" Stefan asked
"Well, the ritual itself its relatively straightforward" Elijah answered, standing next to me "The ingredients, so to speak, you already know"
"The moonstone" Stefan said
I smiled slightly "Someone did his homework" Stefan looked at me unimpressed. I chuckled
"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone" Elijah told them "After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each"
"And where do I fit into it?" Elena asked,
I stood up, smiling slightly "The final part of the ritual" I replied walking toward her as Elijah pulled out a familiar wooden box from a shelf. "Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger to the point of your death" I said smiling sweetly. Oh, how I loved tragic endings.
Stefan glared at me for my wording, taking Elena's hand.
Elena looked between me and Elijah, obviously not believing me.
"She's saying the truth, Elena" Elijah told her, noticing her reluctancy of believing me. "She knows the curse quit well"
Elijah opened the box and pulled out of it a jar
Elena gulped looking at Elijah "And that's where you come in"
"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina" Elijah explained making me scoff. Elena looked at me. I shot her a look. Elena looked back at Elijah "It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation"
"So I'll be dead?" Elena asked
"And then you won't" Elijah told her
"That's your plan?" Damon asked skeptically. "A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" He looked at Elena "You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?"
"Those rings only work on humans" Elijah stated "The Doppelgänger's a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work"
"I'll take those odds over your elixir" Damon replied "What if it doesn't work, Elena?"
"Then I guess I'll just be dead" Elena shrugged
Damon looked at Stefan. Stefan shrugged with sadness. Damon looked at me and Elijah before leaving the room
"Do we know if Klaus has everything he need to do this?" Stefan asked "Does he have a werewolf?"
"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years" Elijah said
"If he doesn't already have a werewolf" I looked up making a face "My guess is by tonight, he will"

Stefan went outside to talk to Damon and convince him that Elena would be okay, leaving us with Elena in the living room
Elena walked up to us as I sat down in a coach near Elijah "You'd think he'd understand why I'm willing to do this" she grabbed the elixir bottle examining it
"Why are you?" Elijah asked her, leaning near her as she looked at the bottle curiously
Elena sighed "I'm the key to breaking the curse. Klaus is here because of me, if we don't stop him, he's going to hurt people"
I watched Elena coldly as she fidgeted with the elixir. I couldn't help but being reminded of Katherine when she played both Elijah and Niklaus whenever I looked at Elena's innocent face. It made me sick.
"You know, there's a probability the elixir won't work" I spoke expressionlessly. Elena jumped startled, probably having forgotten i was in the room as well. Her eyes widened slightly as she tried to hide her fear. Elijah gave me a look, "I don't want to mislead you" I added innocently
Elena tilted her head aside, looking at me nodding slowly, "I know the chance I'm taking"
Before we could say more, my ears perked up at the slam of a door and a woman screaming on the foyer "Get Out!"
"Jenna, Jenna!" A man exclaimed running inside the house.
I looked at Elijah confused, noticing he seemed to recognize the voices, walking out of the library and toward the foyer. I followed after him as well as Elena.
"Get out!" The woman repeated
"Jenna, put the crossbow down, okay!" The man exclaimed "It's me"
I tilted my head aside as they came into view. So, was this the man Niklaus possessed?
"Stay away from me" Jenna pointed the crossbow at him. I smirked. I liked her already
"What's going on?" Stefan asked walking closer to them, looking between them.
Damon, Elena, Elijah and I walked closer
"It's me, Elena, I swear, okay?" The man asked looking at Elena. He looked around at all of us pleadingly "He let me go. Klaus let me go"
I raised my eyebrows unsurprised. It was obvious Niklaus would be in his body at the time of the sacrifice.
"Prove it" Damon told him
The man looked at Jenna "Okay, uh, first night you and I spent together, Jeremy walked in right when I was about to--"
"Okay, it's him" Jenna said before he could finish, putting down the crossbow
I raised my eyebrows amused, yeah, we probably didn't want to know
"Why did he let you go?" Stefan asked him
"He wanted me to deliver a message" the man answered "The sacrifice happens tonight"
Of course it did. Typical Nik.

"So you don't remember anything?" Stefan asked Alaric.
Interesting name, something tells me it was one of the reasons Nik chose him.
Elena, Stefan and Alaric were sitting at the living room while Elijah and I were standing, listening to Alaric talk about his experience.
"No" Alaric answered "It's like I blacked out and woke up three days later. Katherine was there"
"She's under compulsion" Stefan explained, "Damon snuck her some vervain, but she can't leave until Klaus tells her she can"
"Where's Damon?" Elena asked
"I saw him go upstairs" Jenna answered
Elena stood up, walking away, leaving upstairs.
"So, what else did I do?" Alaric asked
No one answered.
I wonder why.

When I told Elijah I'd help, I didn't sign up to get caught up in their drama. I just wanted the job done.
Elijah and I were at the library, waiting for when our assistance was needed as I played with some antique decoration in my hands, throwing it and catching it with my hands as if I was a child. Elijah seemed to find it amusing but we both knew I was just pretending to be busy while I was listening to conversations around the house. Elijah wasn't as subtle though. We both liked to keep ourselves aware of our surroundings.
My interest was now at Damon and Elena. Their love triangle with Stefan was something TV show would love to broadcast about, something I wouldn't watch voluntarily.
"You're going to die, Elena" Damon told her.
"And then I'll come back to life" Elena sighed.
There was a moment of silence between them before Damon spoke "That is not a risk I'm willing to take"
"But I am, Damon, it's my choice" I rolled my eyes in disgust. So disgustingly sweet and annoying. "It's going to be okay" Elena reassured.
I snapped my eyes open, standing up as Elena screamed.
Elijah and I exchanged a knowing look as soon as we smelled blood. "Well, there goes our assistance" I said bitterly, knowing for sure Damon had fed Elena his blood.
Elijah tilted his head in agreement as he placed the elixir on the box again.
Damon walked in
"Well, it sounds like you won't be needing this anymore" Elijah told him closing the box.
"Feeding her vampire blood rendered it useless" I told Damon, flashing him an amused smile when he didn't answer, pouring himself a glass of bourbon, "Nice job" I flashed him sarcastic thumbs up.
"Tell Elena, we'll be back before nightfall" Elijah told him, gesturing me to walk with him "We'll proceeded as planned"
We started walking away when Damon called out to us, "We all know that elixir wouldn't have worked anyway"
"The problem Damon" Elijah stopped, turning to face him walking closer to Damon. I leaned against the doorframe, crossing my arms watching them in boredom. Damon chugged his drink "You talk a good game, but you don't actually know anything" Damon turned to face Elijah, his face giving nothing away "She'll never forgive you"
Elijah turned around, walking away and toward me.
I looked at Damon amused, "And never for a vampire..." I trailed off, glancing at Elijah. "Is a very looong time" I gave him a last look before following Elijah out of the house.
