❝ I'M GONNA SMACK YOU IN THE FACE. ❞

PARIS WAS STANDING NEXT TO DIEGO AS POET STOOD BY ALLISON and Klaus, still trying to process the news they were given about the apocalypse that was to be caused. She was worried about the fact that her nephew was never found with the rest of the Hargreeves and the Capulet’s bodies. He was missing and all Luther had told her was, “Five said I couldn't tell you.”
“No, we need to figure this out.”
“Is it just us?” Allison asked, a cup of coffee in hand thanks to Poet buying her one. She looked at her friend, only to find her staring at her nephew worryingly.
“It's everybody,” Luther replied.
“In the house?”
“The whole planet?”
“No, outside the house,” Luther answered everybody's question. Kind of, “Everyone died. Including the Capulet. Why is she even here?”
“It's like me asking, “Why are you still breathing?”” Poet said in a sarcastic tone, rolling her eyes at the man. She immediately looked towards the entrance and smiled when she saw Vanya and a man that caused her smile to drift off. Poet raised her hand immediately, though, when a knife headed towards her head. She glared at Diego and looked towards Paris who was chuckling a bit. The girl rolled her eyes and headed towards Vanya. “Hey, I wasn't sure if you had a phone but I called the phone in your apartment to let you know that there was a meeting.”
“Thank you,” Vanya smiled and she looked towards where Poet was staring at, staring at the man with a stare so cold. “Poet, this is Leonard. Leonard, this is Poet Capulet.”
“Capulet?”
“Yes, Shakespeare," Poet said before turning to look down at the girl, “Anyway, do you want anything to drink?”
“No, I'm fine. But thank you.”
Turning around, she headed towards the siblings as they still talked and were trying to get an answer from Luther. A good one.
“Hey,” Vanya said out loud, catching the attention of all the siblings. Allison turned around, humming. “What's going on?”
Allison glanced up at Luther before looking at the girl and then glancing at the man. “A family matter.”
“So, you couldn't bother to include me,” Poet furrowed her eyebrows as she heard Vanya’s thoughts. All pained. And hurt. And more hurt.
“No, it's not like that,” Luther spoke up, “We were…”
“Don't let me interrupt,” Vanya turned around to leave and Poet found it a perfect opportunity to hear the man's thoughts that were so, so silent. But when the girl tried to do so, she couldn't hear anything and he was looking at her. Poet looked away front the man's gaze.
“Vanya, wait,” Allison called out, taking a step forward. “I'll fill you in later when we're alone.”
“Please, please, don't bother,” Vanya pleaded. “And I won't either.
“Vanya, that's not fair.”
The Capulets winced at Allison's words and knew that those words will cause Vanya to possibly rant.
“Fair?” Vanya scoffed lightly. “There's nothing fair about being your sister. I have been left out of everything for as long as I can remember. And I used to think it was Dad's fault, but he's dead. So it turns out you're the assholes.”
Poet and Paris stared at each other, not wanting to listen anymore as it wasn't their business to listen in to Vanya’s words.
“I'm gonna go find Vanya and explain,” Allison told the group after Vanya left. But Luther stopped her as soon as she was walking away and it caused Paris to scoff in an annoyed manner.
“No, wait, there isn't time. We need to figure out what causes the apocalypse. Now, there are loads of possibilities. Nuclear war, asteroids. But I'm thinking this is about the Moon. Right? Dad must have sent me up there for a reason.”
“If that sentence keeps coming out of your mouth about how your dad sent you to the moon," Poet started, staring at the knife that belonged to Diego in her hand, "I'm gonna smack you in the face."
"But, anyway," Luther ignored her and Diego looked at the girl who was playing with his knife. A small smile slipped and Klaus caught that, "I was giving him daily updates on the conditions, I sent field samples. The first thing we need to do is find his research."
"Hold on," Klaus spoke, "Hold the phone. We all died fighting this thing the first time around. Remember?"
"Klaus, shockingly, has a point," Diego agreed. "What gives us a win this time?"
"Five," Luther said. "Last time we didn't have him. We weren't all together."
Paris immediately sped towards Klaus and Poet immediately raised her hand up to help Klaus from not falling as the man made his hand to a fist and put it by his mouth, hunching over.
"This time, we'll have the full force," Luther continued, "of the Umbrella Academy. That's what we need." He looked at Poet as Paris was walking away, helping Klaus stand up and helping him sit on the couch. "And... The full force of them."
"It's not" them" you dumbass," Diego corrected him as Poet glared at Luther but sighed later on. She can't really be annoyed by him that much. "Just because Dad didn't like the Capulets does not mean you get to basically hate on them."
Allison glanced at Poet and smirked at her while drinking her coffee. Poet, noticing her friend's stare, cleared her throat, hearing her teasing thoughts.
"So, where's Five now?" Allison questioned, a ghost of a smirk on her lips.
"Well, he had a plan to change the time line," Luther answered. "He'll be back soon."
"I'm going after Hazel and Cha Cha," Diego said and as soon as those words left his mouth, Poet looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. He walked away and Poet chased after him to stop him from basically doing anything stupid.
"What, right now?" Luther and Allison looked after the two.
"Hell yeah," Diego replied. "Three days. I'm losing light by the minute."
"Wait, Diego..."
"Look, I know you want to avenge your friend," Luther started, before pointing at the girl, "but she's here. She's not dead. Stop chasing after them before they kill you. After all, we got a bigger problem here."
"If I'm gonna die, I need to know I killed those bastards first," Diego gritted out. Before simply adding in a loud tone, "And she isn't just a friend, Luther."
He glanced at Poet but looked away immediately when he saw her staring at him confusedly. He walked away, and as soon as Poet was about to chase after him, Allison stopped her by grabbing her hand.
"What did Luther mean by that?" She asked and Poet mentally face palmed when she forgot that she forgot to tell Allison by her near death experience.
"I'll tell—"
"Klaus?"
They turned to look at Klaus and Paris leaving, Ben and Julian trailing behind the two, chatting about anything.
"Klaus!"
"Yeah! Sorry," Klaus turned around, his arms flailing.
"So, what?" Luther spread his arms. "You're giving up on the world, too?"
"Yeah, pretty much. Yeah. Mm-hmm."
"So, that's it. You're cool with us all dying in three days?"
Klaus didn't answer and turned away and Poet turned to look at her friend, who was turning to look at her as well.
"I'll tell you later. I have to make sure Diego doesn't do anything too stupid," Poet chuckled.
"You and him have gotten closer," Allison teased. "He really cares he just doesn't really know how to express it or show it. But he's doing a great job at showing his concern for you."
"Shut up," Poet shook her head. "But, how long do we have here until we go back to L.A?"
"We're leaving as soon as possible."
"Okay."
And Poet walked away, heading towards wherever Diego was and hoped to enjoy a few moments together.
