"Stay still, Haidee!" Vivianne complained.
"But I'm trying to practice the dance!" I retorted.
Georgia sighed, "How can we make sure the dress fits if you won't even stay still so we can put it on you?"
I sighed, "Alright."
Today is the day before the ball. My maids were here to make sure the dress fits. The dress was breath taking. It was a large elaborate ball gown that fit her waist tightly and spread out into a huge skirt decorated with gold flowers. The waist was accentuated with a gold 1 inch belt and the sleeves were off shoulder and decorated with gold flowers. The neck was a turtle neck and it connected to the off shoulder making it a cold shoulder. It did not have a lot of design but it was elegant. And I love it.
I looked at the mirror and gasped at the sight, "Wow."
Vivianne nodded proudly, "A masterpiece."
"So does it fit?" Hannah asked.
"Perfectly," I replied and admired the dress in the mirror.
I tried walking in the dress and found it easy. It was very light unlike what I thought. It was easy to move in.
"I know you love the dress, Haidee, but we need to wash the dress so it can be dry when you wear it tomorrow." Georgia said.
I sighed, "Alright."
They started undressing me while I hummed the song I was going to dance to. They dressed me in a simple day dress and made me wear doll shoes. They sent me on my way after.
I walked to the mini ballroom, my red locks swaying behind me. Tony insisted that I change my hair color back tonight and that I should still pretend as Eldora just to be safe. I told him that Gabriel wasn't here and that I was safe, but he was to stubborn.
I heard the music playing inside and I expected to see them dancing. Instead, I saw them seated on the floor and chilling. Eldora leaned against the mirror and was viewing something on her phone. Tony was in an indian seat while talking to Fidel who was sprawled on the floor with his arms behind his head.
I put my two hands on my waist and said, "I thought you said that you were going to practice when I'm gone."
Fidel sat up and smiled, "Practice relaxing that is."
I rolled my eyes, "Right. Then I must have well been resting in my bed."
Eldora looked up from her phone, "Oh you're here." She stood and dusted her pants, "Let's practice."
I closed the door behind me and approached them, "Alright. Let's start."
Tony glanced at his watch then his eyes widened, "It's already three?" He stood abruptly and straightened his dress shirt, "I need to go. I still have to arrange some things for tomorrow." He walked to the door but stopped and looked at me. He flashed a smile, "You'll do greatly."
Before I can even reply, He left. I sighed and looked at the royal siblings in front of me, "Let's start." I said.
Fidel took my hand and got us into position, "Hey, don't mind him. He just wants tomorrow to be perfect."
I frowned, "What is happening tomorrow?"
He smiled, "A great day."
I rolled my eyes, "No one ever tells me anything."
"Because he wants it as a surprise." He replied, "Now stop thinking about it. You're going to know what I'm talking about tomorrow anyway."
I nodded, "Right. The ball is happening tomorrow."
"You'll do wonders," He reassured.
"Thanks," I replied and danced to the music.
I made a pirouette with my arms raised forming an 'o' while his hand rested on my waist as I turned. When I stopped turning, I was in a slanted position with only his arm supporting me. This part was the part I favored. It had a mix of ballet and ballroom and I love it.
Another part of the dance I liked was being lifted up in to the air. It always made me feel weightless and excited.
While Fidel and I danced, Eldora was at the side, observing us. I was glad that she was nodding her head as she analyzed my movements. It meant that I was doing something right.
Thankfully, I made mistakes that weren't quite noticeable. So it was fine. Only Eldora, Fidel, and Tony would notice it. Well maybe Celestiana and William too.
My breaths were not as tired as before and that made me proud. I've been so used to dancing this complex dance that I won't even break a sweat at dances I've danced before.
"You've improved, Haidee." Fidel stated.
I smiled, "It was a product of hard work."
Eldora smiled and nodded, "It's a good thing you've mastered it now. The ball is tomorrow."
I frowned, "Right, and tomorrow is the day he's making that unknown announcement."
Fidel patted my back, "Don't worry, Haidee. It's something good."
I groaned, "You can't make me believe it is if you won't tell me."
Eldora chuckled, "Oh, honey, but that would ruin the surprise!"
"You know that if you spark curiosity in a person, it wouldn't dissipate easily, right?" I asked.
"Of course," Eldora replied.
"Then answer me!" I exclaimed.
Fidel laughed, "Just wait, Haidee. It's happening tomorrow. After you sleep, it's the day."
I sighed, "I better get ready for dinner."
They waved goodbye and off I went. I ate dinner with the royals in a secluded room. The Elite ate in the sining hall by themselves. We still had to keep my presence secret and I still didn't know why.
I walked back to my room and didn't see my maids inside. I guess they were making finishing touches on the dress.
I didn't wait for them to dress me up and just picked a gown from my closet. It was a gray and silver gown that accentuated my gray contacts. I wore it and applied a little make-up. Meaning a little lipstick and blush.
I wore heels since the dress didn't cover my feet. It was up to my knees. I wore simple white heels and headed on my way.
The room where we eat was in the fourth floor so I wouldn't bump into an elite by accident. It wasn't a long way to the elevator which was an advantage. I always went up or down a floor by stairs but that was when I was walking with my friends. Being alone, it was lonely so I decided to use the elevator.
When I reached the floor, I entered a room to my left and sat on my cushioned chair. I was the first one there which was no surprise. I always came here first even when my maids dressed me. The next one that usually comes was Tony but I guess he won't be coming for dinner because of the oh-so-important preparations.
I waited in my seat by staring at the utensils placed in front of me. I remembered the days when I was accustomed to using only a spoon and fork. The time when I didn't know the different forks, spoons, plates, and glasses. The time when I could laugh out loud and no one would say it was improper.
I missed those days when I was a regular girl with a complete family and a best friend. The time when I simply needed to wake up, help mom in the shop, teach dancing to kids when I have spare time, then sleep. The time when nobody saw me as a noble. The time when nobody noticed me.
But of course, this life is good. I get to eat the finest dishes, wear the finest dresses, meet the royals from every nation, and get friends.
Although I still wonder what I would've been doing if the palace didn't order from our shop. Would I still be at the shop with a living family? Perhaps even have Laurence as my boyfriend?
"Hey," Fidel greeted as he sat down on his seat.
I nodded and smiled, "Where's Eldora?"
"Like I know," He rolled his eyes, "She's probably dolling herself up."
I chuckled, "Yeah, maybe."
Just then, the door opened and the sound of heels clicking filled the room.
"Here comes the diva," Fidel said with a sigh.
I chuckled, "That's not a name to call your sister."
He shrugged, "It fits her."
Eldora took her seat beside me, "Let's start eating. I still need my beauty sleep."
We started eating in silence. I guess we were all too tired to talk. Tomorrow is the day I've been waiting for. I can't wait to figure out what the announcement is about.

Hey guys! I'm really sorry for not updating. I forgot 😂 I've been preoccupied with projects in school and my time has been split into two stories. Yes, I'm currently working on the PJO fanfic. But don't worry, I'll continue this series 😂😂.
