The media isn't mine (obviously. In case you didn't know, I can't draw) but I just thought it's really cute, so there you go.

The next day at lunch, Octavian came in with our food.
It wasn't nearly enough for both of us. Octavian had clearly stole some of it.
"Here." He said.
"Octavian, that's not nearly enough for both of us-"
"Then give it to Percy." He said.
"But-"
"This is your food. Take it, or you won't get any."
I sighed and took the food. Octavian left.
I turned to Percy. "Here you go." I handed him the food.
He looked up at me, "Did you already eat or something?"
"No, Octavian stole part of our food." I said.
He stared at it, "But you didn't eat breakfast either..."
That was true, because Octavian stole part of our breakfast, too.
"I'm okay." I said. "I'll go eat somewhere for dinner, okay?"
"Okay..." he seemed unsure.
He started eating.
-
We were meeting Will at the park after lunch.
We sat on the same bench as always and waited.
Finally, someone tapped my shoulder. I looked behind me to see Will.
"Hi." He said. My stomach rumbled.
"Nico, what did you eat for lunch?"
Percy answered for me, pouting, "Octavian stole part of our breakfast and lunch so he hasn't eaten anything today."
"Nico, you know you have to eat, too."
"It's not his fault that he has to share a room with me. Octavian only steals from me. He doesn't steal from anyone else. It's just me. So Percy shouldn't have to suffer because he shares a room with me."
"It's not your fault that Octavian's a jerk. Plus, you could've come to my house. I could've fed you. You just need to eat something. It's unhealthy."
"I know, I know. I try to, really, I do. I'm planning on eating a good dinner."
"I will see to it that you do."
I smiled a little at his protectiveness.
"So...where do you want to go today?"
I shrugged.
"Is here anywhere you'd like to go, Percy?"
"I don't care where we go."
"Okay then, I get to pick today." He said, "Let's go shopping."
"Why?"
"It can be a present from me." He said. "I've been saving up my money to do this."
"Will you don't have to-"
"I want to do this, Nico."
He took my hand and we walked over to his (or I assume it was his) car. Percy followed us.
I sat in the passenger seat, Percy was in the back, and Will was in the driver's seat. We drove to the mall, where Percy immidiately sought a stand with cookies for sale.
His eyes lit up as he looked at them.
"Do you want one?" I asked. He nodded excitedly and I got out my wallet.
"Nico, let me pay for it." Will said, seeing my almost empty wallet.
"It's okay I can-"
"I'm paying for it." He announced and got out his own wallet. Before I could argue, he put money on the counter and put his wallet back in his pocket.
Percy got his cookie and I noticed he had chosen the last one with blue icing.
I smiled. Percy loved blue food for some reason. I never knew why.
Then Will led us into a clothing store. He headed straight for some colorful sweaters.
"Will!" I groaned, "Rainbow? Really?"
He grinned, "You definitely need some rainbow sweaters." After a bit of thought, he said, "Plus rainbow describes you."
I scowled.
Percy looked confused, "Why does rainbow describe him?"
"The gay pride flag is rainbow."
Percy's face slowly turned into a big goofy grin. "Yes. I like that idea. Let's get him the rainbow sweater."
Will smiled, "Let's vote. All in favor of getting Nico the rainbow sweater raise your hand."
Percy and Will raised their hands.
"Oh, well would you look at that?" Will grinned, "We're getting you the rainbow sweater."
He took it off the rack and into our cart. "We have officially gotten the rainbow sweater."
"Wiiiiiill!" I moaned.
Percy skipped alongside us as we shopped for other things.
I sighed and followed them. I wasn't going to win this arguement.
That's about when Will got a phone call.
"Hello?"
"Hi, this is Ms. Morning's Orphanage for Boys. Is Percy with you?"
"Umm...yes...what do you need?"
"A women would like to adopt Percy. We need to see him at the orphanage as soon as possible."
I paled and my heart seemed to drop to the floor.
Percy is being adopted?
"Oh. Umm, Okay. Yeah, we'll be right there."
"Thank you."
He hung up and looked up at me. He saw my expression and took my hand.
"It'll be okay, Nico."
Percy was one of my only friends. He was my only friend at the orphanage.
What am I going to do?
