Freya's Day
Given that she was a Mikaelson, Freya woke up every morning wondering what insane thing was going to happen that day. That was why the days where there were no supernatural crisis always seemed strange. However, they were still filled with plenty of family drama.
"You seem surprised that everything's rather quiet," Finn said to her from across the breakfast table.
"I actually am," she replied. "It's been one crisis after the next, you know? I'm waiting for something terrible to happen."
"Well, you shouldn't. Be glad you can have a day's rest."
There was a sound of running footsteps as young Hope came running in. "Hey, Aunt Freya, Uncle Finn."
"Morning, Hope," Freya said. "You came running in pretty fast. Everything okay?"
She shrugged. "I'm not sure. I heard Mom and Dad arguing, and I think it's about me."
"Oh. Well, eat your breakfast, and I'll see what's going on."
"Whether you like it or not, we have to share her, Klaus!" they heard, "Which means we both get to make decisions, not just you!" Hayley came storming into the room "I can't believe him."
"Do we want to know what that was about?" Freya asked.
"Probably not," Hayley answered. "Hey, Hope, how about we go over to the park for a little while? I could use the fresh air."
"Okay." Hope grabbed another piece of toast and hopped down from her chair.
A few minutes after they left, Klaus came storming in and asked, "What has that woman done with my daughter now?"
"Klaus, relax, they just went to the park," Freya said. "What were you and Hayley fighting about?"
"And it is anything we want to know about?" Finn added.
Ignoring Finn, Klaus said, "She wants to sent Hope to a boarding school in Virginia."
"So?"
"So?" Klaus repeated. "It's in Mystic Falls, Virginia! Do you know how many miles away that is? And I don't know how trustworthy it is. It's in Mystic Falls, after all."
"Well, you should at least think about it," Freya said. "It could be a good opportunity for her, you know?"
"I suppose so," he grumbled. "I'll consider it."
After he had left, Finn asked Freya, "Is this the kind of crisis you had in mind?"
"Well, it's close enough."

Keelin texted that she wouldn't be able to get out of work until later that night, and she didn't have anything important planned for the day, so Freya lay back on the sofa with a book, trying to relax.
"Freya!" Rebekah came storming into the room. "Can you please tell our brother how ridiculous he's being?"
"Which one?" Freya asked. "We have a few."
"She means me." Elijah came into the room. "Rebekah thinks I should ask Hayley out on a date, but I don't know if it's a good idea."
"Well, she's single, isn't she?"
"That's what I said," said Rebekah. "She's not dating anyone else, and she likes you, so you may as well do it!"
"You should ask Marcel out then, Rebekah." Kol poked his head into the room. "Just because things didn't go well last time doesn't mean they will this time. Although with you, they might."
"I don't remember anyone asking your opinion, Kol," Rebekah snapped. "And what state is your love life in?"
"A very good one, actually," he replied. "Things between Davina and I are perfectly blissful."
"Yeah, for how much longer before you screw it up?"
"Can you guys maybe argue about this somewhere else?" Freya asked. "Actually, can you not argue at all. I thought we could have a nice, quiet day."
"Well, I'm not sticking around," Kol said. "I'm meeting Davina for lunch. You can all have fun with your quiet day, especially with Nik on the premises."
Thankfully, there were no more disturbances for the afternoon after that. As Freya was making dinner, she asked Finn, "Do you know if the rest of the family will be joining us for dinner?"
"Elijah and Rebekah probably will," he said, "And Hope and Hayley. I don't know about Niklaus and Kol. Do we really want to be at a table with all of them? At the same time?"
"Oh, come on, Finn, cheer up a little. It's our family. Come on, set the table for me, will you? Everyone should be in soon."
From the dining room, they heard the sound of people arguing.
"What do you think that's about?" Freya asked.
"I'll go see." Finn gathered up the plates and forks and headed for the dining room. He returned less than a minute later and announced, "We're going out for dinner."
"What? What happened?"
"You don't need to know, and you don't want to know. I am letting you go in there."
"Okay, well, hold on." Freya pulled out her phone. "Let me text Elijah that dinner's ready."
"I doubt he'll hear his phone with all the noise," Finn said.
~~~~~~
Freya got home later to find Keelin hanging around in the kitchen.
"Hey, you," she said with a smile. "What's been going on around here? I didn't even go into the dining room when I got back. Sounded like a bloodbath. Where did you go?"
"Finn took me out for dinner," Freya said, "Partly because he was being a nice brother, and partly because he wanted to get away from them for a while."
"Oh, yeah? I thought you were trying to spend more time with all your siblings."
"Well, I do try to spend time with all of them," Freya said. "I just don't think I need to spend every hour of the day with them. I think I would get sick of them if I did."
