I took a deep, shuddering breath, to calm my nerves. "I am the daughter of  the Overlord. When Lloyd defeated him, I snuck onto The Bounty and hitched a ride here. I figured that if I stayed out of sight none would know I was there. I was right. When we got back here, I jumped off into the sea and swam the rest of the way to shore. While I was with the Overlord, I did things that I wish I had never done now. I'll even prove that I was his daughter."

I showed him the cuts I made into my skin, purple blood oozing onto my skin. "When I got here, I wanted to be neither boy nor girl, so I chose the in-between. I understand if you want me out. I will leave if you wish it so." I finished, suddenly feeling tired. "And tell me, why do you think I would dislike you and throw you out?" He said.

I blinked. "I'm just used to being shunned wherever I go. When I first went into a foster home, they beat me. The next one didn't feed me. Third, they didn't feed me AND beat me. The fourth..." I trailed off. I shuddered. "Let's just say I NEVER, want to go back to that house." I said darkly.

Wu sat in thoughtful silence. "Tell me. Why did you help Lloyd?" I thought it over. "He reminded me of someone I once knew. I don't want people hurt anymore, and the person I lost is irreplaceable. I want to amend the things I did, and try to make good in life." I finally said. "How would you feel if I made you one of my students?"

I looked at him, looking for the joke. There was none. "Are you serious?" I whispered, looking into his eyes. "I'm serious. Besides, I don't ask that of just anyone. You seem like a good soul to me. You're like Morro that way. He was once evil, but now look at him. Does he seem evil?" I shook my head. "He changed, and I was delighted when he did so. Do you still want to join?" He said.

I trusted this man, whoever he is, and I nodded my head. He smiled. "Then we should inform the others then." "Sensei, can we not tell anyone else that I speak? I want to be able to trust them fully." He nodded. "Let's go."

I heard a creak outside the door, and knew someone had been listening. I said nothing.

When we got back on deck, Wu told them the news. They cheered, and greeted me with hearty hugs, except for Zane and Morro. The white ninja stood to the side, and when the others moved, he came and gave me a gental side-hug. I smiled at him. Morro came forward and put his hand out. "Welcome to the team." He said with a warm smile. I gave him a gental smile, and shook his hand.

My stomach growled, and everyone heard it. They all laughed. "Come on, Zane's cooking tonight and he's AWESOME." Said Cole, slinging one arm over my shoulder. I lifted it from my shoulder, and shook my head. He and the others got the message, and left me alone.

The food was delicious, although I didn't eat too much. The others shot me worried glances from time to time. I hand-signed 'Where is the bathroom? I would like to get cleaned up.' Nya stood up. "Follow me." She said.
