[17] Havoc 2

He stared at us, particularly at me. His dark eyes that scanned every piece of me and my surroundings were a cold, dark shade of brown. They continued to roam over the place until they finally landed on Nick's form.

That's when the man's expression changed from emotionless to a sick hint of humor. His dark clothing matching the color of his hair of which was cut short. The man in front of us looked to be in his late twenties and just by looking at him, I could tell that he owned a lot of confidence in him.

Nick rose from his chair and quickly rushed to step in front of me, creating a human barrier between me and the man who just walked in like he owned the place.

I could tell that Nick was tense yet seeming confused. Both of them shared a look before the man let out a chuckle, his chest rising and falling as he did. It was what he said next that caused my eyes to widen, that made a breath get caught up in my chest yet having me hyperventilating at the same time.

"I just brought the car back."

He's the one who stole Justin's car?

"It was you?" Nick's voice raised, frustration lining his features.

The man once again laughed..."Who else would it be dear Nick? By the way, I'm so disappointed. I was at least hoping to find our dearest Justin home."

Was he crazy? He stole a car and now he's acting like it was all a very funny joke that he can laugh about??

"Well for you Zane, you're lucky Justin is not home or else, you wouldn't get out of this house still walking." Nick said nonchalantly before leaning against the table, moving his body making the man catch a glimpse of me.

He smirked "Who's the girl? Is she yours or Justin's?"

That made me just want to puke my intestines out. Did he really have to ask that? Matter of fact, who was he anyway to question my identity as well as my status?

"It doesn't matter who I am loser. What matters is that do you even know how much of an offense it is to steal someone's car? You should be arrested and I'm sure as hell going to tell Justin to press charges." I said and the man I'm assuming is Zane laughed.

Seriously, what was it with him and laughing?

Nick turned and gave me a warning look before turning his back to me once again.

"Zane you know very well that Justin felt bad after crashing into your car so this pathetic behavior of yours was not necessary. He even paid for the necessary expenses and I swear if there's even a single scratch on his car, you're so gonna-"

"Gonna what Nick? What's that that's gonna happen to me? That time of the crash, I treated the matter subtly. Do you and your pathetic little boss seriously think that a few thousand dollars was able repair the damage that occurred to my car?" Zane lashed out, clearly seeming pissed off.

Did Justin really crash into his car?

"Don't piss me off Zane, you know very well that there was another car involved! The damn crash wasn't even Justin's fault, you were drunk while you were driving remember that idiot?" Nick raised his voice as he took threatening steps towards Zane.

He didn't look by any chance intimidated by him although Zane seemed older than him and a little taller than him.

"I was at a stop sign when suddenly, someone crashed into my car, how could that not be Justin's fault? Don't even make up excuses for that Nick, matter fact where the hell is Justin? He should be the one answering for himself, not his stupid brother who doesn't even-" Zane didn't even get to finish his sentence when Nick suddenly pounced on him, throwing a punch that landed straight on his jaw.
I let out a yelp as Zane lost his balance and fell backwards, his back hitting against the wall.

I was frozen, I didn't know what to do because I hated violence with everything that I have in me. I hated the act of someone physically hurting another purposefully, I'm scarred by memories of that happening to me constantly...and its bad enough seeing it happening right in front of me.

I'm trying to heal from the abuse I endured while living with Ben...

"What the fuck!?" A familiar voice echoed throughout the room, making all our heads immediately snap towards it.

"What the hell is he doing here?" Justin's voice was all to be heard once again. My eyes involuntarily twinkled by the sight of him, he once again looked ...too good.

His eyes were fixed on Zane who was shamelessly sprawled on the floor as his hand held his now bruised, red jaw. His chest fell and rose continuously in a hurried manner as he breathed loudly. Nick was glaring hard at him, obviously trying to maintain his anger. I knew Nick as a good, kind-hearted guy, not the beast that was now in front of me.

I couldn't help but think to myself, was there loads of other things I still didn't know?

"Oh lovely! Look who's back." Zane annoyingly said as he tried to get up, struggling as he did.

"Don't even dare say a fucking word if you don't want anymore of my deadly punches." Nick threatened, glares of hate directed at Zane who simply laughed.

"You don't scare me Nick...its your brother that I'm here for." Said Zane as he eyed Justin who seemed confused but held up a defensive posture.

"Can someone care to explain to me how my car got here, who the hell took it and why the fuck is this retard in my house?" Justin questioned, this time glaring at Zane.

"He's the one who took the car while we were at the skate park." Nick replied and as soon as Justin processed his words, he lunged at Zane...a punch landing on his side temple. I hissed and closed my eyes, a clear memory of Ben doing the same to me coming back.

I shook my head furiously as I tried
to drown Zane's growls...my screams...

He's gone now Amara! Ben's gone, he's NEVER COMING BACK!

As much as I tried telling myself, convincing myself that I was free from Ben, I couldn't quiet believe it. I was always unsettled and believed that all this was a temporary relief from pain.

"Amara?" I slowly opened my eyes at the soft mention of my name from a voice I now like to hear.

"Amara are you okay? What's the matter?" Justin asked softly, he was so close to me now and cupped my face with both his palms.

I couldn't help but feel better, all thoughts of Ben, pain, fear leaving me in an instant.

"You looked scared, did I scare you by doing what I did?" The pain in his voice, the malice in it that clarified how bad he felt about himself. He hated having to have caused the feeling of fear in me.

I raised my hand and put it on his, the immediate sparks of the contact of our hands being evident enough. As I stared in his eyes, I felt at the little piece of peace. I didn't even need to say anything for him to know what I felt now. Its his heart warming grin that showed me that he knows everything I need him to.

"Haaa!!! Would you look at that? Justin has found his love, how sweet yet pathetic." Our little moment was ruined by the most stupid person I now know. Although my stomach welcomed a warm feeling at being referred to as Justin's love, Zane was just overall horrible, his behavior was uncalled for.

Justin walked towards Zane and clenched his fists at his sides. "You sick bastard! Don't even think that I'm gonna hesitate to throw you another punch. You are just lucky I won't do it here because I actually respect what my actions cause for other people." He looked back at me for a second before glaring at Zane once again.

Nick came towards me and stood next to me.

"You wanna talk about feelings? Really? How did you think I felt when my car was crashed into? It was brand new, and the cents you gave me weren't enough to fix the damages. You should be at jail mutherfucker, you took two damn lives when you were out there driving like a maniac!"

Took two lives?

My hand raised to my mouth as I took in Zane's words... Justin was in fact a murderer, what the students at school said were true...

Just as I was beginning to trust him.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP ZANE!" Nick lashed out

"Don't even dare say something you don't have clear facts of, I did not kill the two people in other car, you did! It was you who drove back after your car was crashed into and because you were drunk, you hit the other car, so don't even dare put the blame on me. I already paid for what I did." Justin spoke, defending himself.

"What the hell is happening?" I asked as everything was just getting in my head and driving me insane. I didn't know what was true and was wasn't anymore.

All three pairs of eyes turned to me, Justin seemed panicked, Nick seemed worried and Zane was hating.

"Can someone at least explain to me what the hell is happening?" I asked, this was all a sense of deja vu...

Justin looked at me once more. His green eyes pierced as he looked to be thinking of something before his shoulders fell in defeat.

"There's nothing to say."

And he left.
