I was just reading an Bucky Barnes/Avenger fanfic (Dirty Laundry by h2oparx) and the ending made me cry so much. There isn't a sequel or I haven't found one and I just can't. Excuse my sobbing in the background.
Sang
I groan as the light hits my eyes.
Fuck, my head is killing me. I roll over and stuff my head into a pillow. What the fuck happened last night?
I can't remember much past the game of Jenga where we all pathetically failed and kept knocking over the tower which meant we had to take a shot. Oh shit, then I remember about the jello shots. Those were just a bad idea that seemed like a good one at the time.
I slowly opened my eyes to examine my surroundings. I was only in Owen's shirt, but my bra and underwear was still on. Thank God because if we did something while his brothers were around us, I would never live it down. I am on the couch and everyone else is spread out on the floor. Owen is missing thought and there is noise coming from the kitchen. None of the boys are wearing shirts or shoes.
When did that happen?
Luke is sleeping leaning against the wall. North is spread out on the floor, hogging the blankets and the pillows. Gabe and Nathan are leaning against each other. Sean is in starfish position with a singular blanket and pillow. Kota is on one of the armchairs. Silas is nearly falling off the couch.
Where is Victor?
I looked behind the couch and there he was. Now, everyone is accounted for. I continue to look around to discover somehow exactly what the fuck happened last night. Several things were worrisome.
Like what the fuck happened to the TV?
It had been ripped off of the wall where it was and someone punched through the screen. What did it ever do to us? There were many, many alcohol bottles surrounding us. The only one I remember drinking is the vodka, tequila and armagnac. Where did the others come from? I think we drank the good stuff. I roll over and stare at the ceiling. Confusion and horror came over me.
How is there an entire pizza stuck on the mother fucking ceiling?
Note to self: Do not get this drunk with a group of boys again unless you are filming the entire thing. It was just slightly strange that I have no memory of last night, usually I have a pretty high alcohol tolerance and I assume the giants around me did too. I swing my feet off the couch and attempt to get up.
Only to slip in maple syrup?!
I have so many questions on that one. Like where did we get some? Did I have some? Did we just eat it like it is or with waffles and pancakes? As I get up, I find myself face to face with some Eggo waffles. Well, that answers that question. I continue on my merry way until I find myself at the door that separates the living room and the kitchen.
How punched a hole through it?
I shake my head and open the door quietly. The pounding in my head has not fucking stopped! I stumble into the kitchen and over to the cabinet with the pain killers. I open it, but they aren't fucking there. Whoever moved them better be ready because you will face the rage of a hungover person!
I turn around to hunt the idiot down when Owen shoved some in my hand and a glass of water, "Here!"
I take them and sallow quickly, "Thanks."
He grunts, "Coffee?"
I grunt back and I grab his coffee. Plain scalding coffee as black as my soul, just how I like it. It's only to wake me up, after that I only drink hot chocolate, the only exception to my eat healthy rule. A couple minutes later, I feel awake enough to start a conversation and Owen senses that.
He asks, "What do you remember of last night?"
What do I remember?
Victor who has been more conservative all night had really loosened up the more we drank. We had finally moved on to playing truth-or-dare while completely and utterly wasted. It was more fun this way.
He asked me, "Truth or dare."
I giggled, "Dare."
Victor smirked, "I dare you to take a body shot on Owen."
I shake myself out of my memories, "Not much. How about you?"
Owen smiles, "Bits and pieces, it's been a while since I drank this much."
I chuckle, "Same, just same. Do you happen to know how I ended up in your shirt?"
He nods, "You jumped in the pool."
I choke on my drink, "I did what?!"
Owen sat me down on his lap, "It was one of the more mellow dares you did."
I blush, "Do I even want to know the worse ones?"
He shakes his head, "Most likely not, but I don't think I remember much. I know we played Never have I ever, Jenga, Two truths and a lie with jello shots and then truth or dare. But after that? No idea."
I smile, "Let's just hope that the others don't either."
Speaking of the devils, one by one they entered the kitchen. Everyone was pretty quiet, waiting for the pain killers to kick in and the pounding in our heads to stop. North was the first to wake while Gabe was the last. By the time Gabe came in, we already were feeling better.
Gabe muttered, "What the hell happened?"
I smirk, "I asked around and so far only Owen remembers the most. I am getting bits and pieces."
Luke popped up next to me, "Do you remember my dare?"
I frown,
It was Luke's turn to ask someone. He faced me with a mischevious glint in his eye that did not reassure me at all. In fact, it was scary and I almost didn't want to know what he had planned in that head of his.
He asked, "Cupcake, truth-or-dare?"
I take another sip of my drink, "Dare."
Luke looked victorious, "For the next four days including this one, you have to eat everything I say."
I gasp playfully, "You mean sweets!"
I nod, "I remember."
Luke grinned in glee, "You have to have chocolate cake for breakfast!"
I groan, "Pass me a plate."
North scowled, "That shit isn't healthy."
I give him a look, "I know, but I never back down from a dare."
Luke just kept grinning, "Victory is mine."
Owen comes to my defense, "Do you remember Sang's dare for you, Lucia-Luke?"
He frowns, "What dare?"
A smirk comes over my face as the memory kicks in.
It was a few rounds later, but I wanted my revenge. Luke was going to make my diet unhealthly. However, his could use some improvement and I knew just the man to do it for him. This was going to be fun.
I face Luke, "Truth or dare?"
He smirks cockily, "Dare."
I smirk back and he looks worried, "I dare you to eat whatever North tells you to for the next four days including today!"
North stood up, "I am getting some vegetables!"
I laugh in memory and North hands Luke a platter of fruit, "Enjoy breakfast!"
Luke looks so heart broken, "Cupcake. . ."
I cross my arms, "You shouldn't have messed with me."
We eat while everyone is joking around and comparing their memories of last night. Now, we are all more comfortable around each other and it feels like I have known them for longer than I have. Even Victor has lost his hostile edge.
Gabe interrupts all conversation, "It's time to go shopping!"
I frown, "Since when?"
He turns towards me, "Remember before the sleepover, you agreed to let me take you shopping because your closet is a disaster."
I sigh, "Do I even have a choice? Let me get my purse and get dressed."
I get off Owen's lap and he calls out, "I will be paying!"
I yell, "NOPE!"
I head over to the Owen's room, though I am there enough for it to be 'our' room, to get changed. I have an ulterior motive for leaving my boyfriend and his brothers in the kitchen alone. They need to have a family meeting and talk. Owen kind of just dropped the news of him dating me in their lap like a bomb. They all have some things to work out which means that I have a lot of time to get ready.
I start a bath because even after all this time I can't go in a shower alone. Owen and I had found another solution to that problem, but since he isn't here to implement it, a bath it is. I add a bath bomb into the bath. Their family meetings last for a long fucking time normally. I should have enough time.
I strip down and get into the now ready bath. I sink into the water and enjoy the sensation it gives me. Back at the base, I don't get baths, I get five minutes showers and that doesn't work for me thanks to Step-Bitch's punishments.
About 30 minutes later and my skin looks like wrinkled prunes, I decide it's time to get out. I grab my towel and make my way to the closet. As I am choosing my clothes, I hear another presence enter the room, Owen. His smell of spring soap overwhelms my senses, not that I am complaining.
He walks up behind me and wraps his arms around me, "Thank you for giving me time with my brothers, darling."
I smile, "I knew you needed it, especially with the way you introduced me, Angel Eyes. Now get out, I need to get dressed."
Owen smirks, "You can get changed in front of me, it's not anything I haven't seen before."
I roll my eyes, "But if I do that, you are going to seduce me into doing something that will make me late for the shopping trip."
He acts playfully offended, "Me? Seducing you?"
I shove him softly, "Shut up and get out."
With a chuckle, he listens to me and does exactly that. I shake my head at his antics and finish getting dressed in something I know that Gabe will throw a fit over. I honestly don't see his problem with me wearing black, it is one of my favorite colors after pink of course. I don't get to go shopping very much so this would be useful to me.
I exit the closet fully dressed in a black skirt matched with a cute crop top to see Owen is sitting on the bed with his piercing grey eyes looking unhappily at his phone. Something must have gone wrong with one of his investments or the Academy called. I bet it's the latter because Owen knows exactly how to play the stock market.
I jump up on his lap, "What has you upset, Sugar Lips?"
His attention is now solely on me, "Nothing you need to worry about, Sang."
He called me Sang, he only does that when something is wrong. Owen is mine and I am not okay with someone messing with something that is mine. I give him a look which says 'cut-the-fucking-bullshit'.
Owen sighs and puts his phone down, "The Academy has told us in no uncertain terms that we will be getting the help of someone with our case in two weeks or so. I don't trust anyone outside of my brothers."
I give him a peck on the lips, "I know the feeling, but be careful."
We stand up and join his brothers who apparently had clothes in their cars. Smart, like to go bags. I have some of my own just in case shit hits the fan and it's safer to run than to stay. I look out on the assembled group.
I ask, "Who is going shopping with us, Meanie?"
Gabe replies, "Owen, Victor and Kota are coming. The others have an assignment today."
I nod, "Fair group. I am just saying this once, I am paying."
Coming from Victor and Owen, there was only one answer, "No, you're not."
I sigh, "This might be harder than anticipated."
