Grunkles Return
(Dipper's PoV + Next Morning)
I woke up to hear the sounds of shouting. My first instinct was that Bill had done something, but when I looked to my left he was there floating, staring at me with his single eye though upside down.
"Ah! You're finally up, Pine Tree!" Bill cheered. "It was boring with you being asleep and everything for like fourteen hours."
"Wait, what!" I bolted up and looked at my watch to see it was a quarter till nine. "I was supposed to be up by eight!"
I ran over to the dresser and grabbed my jacket and threw it on the bed. I then opened the top drawer and looked for a shirt and finally decided on a nice, purple, galaxy, Panic! at the Disco shirt with black background. I dug through my second drawer and pulled out some faded gray, ripped skinny jeans and threw them on the bed. Finally, I grabbed a clean pair of boxers from the bottom drawer.
I quickly slipped off the shirt I had been wearing and put the new one on. I then slipped off the jeans I had fallen asleep in slightly on accident, but paused before I pulled my boxers off to change them. I turned and glared at Bill who had been floating a few feet away watching.
"You mind?" I asked, slightly harsh. Be careful you don't want to lose him too. I shook the thought from my mind, probably some heat induced thought.
"Not at all, Pine Tree," Bill spoke, crossing his arms and sound smug. "I always enjoy myself a good show."
I rolled my eyes at his remark. "Well you're not getting a show," I retorted, turning my back to him. I slipped my boxers off really quickly and slipped the new ones on as fast as I could.
"Nice ass," Bill shamelessly flirted.
I lightly blushed, but made sure he didn't see it and slipped on my jeans.
"Oh, and those jeans seem to present it nicely too," Bill commented, making my blush darken even more.
I tried my best to remain calm and turned around. "You are going to stay here all day and not make a sound, got it?" I commanded.
"It's so hot when you're bossy," Bill smuggly said. I could hear the smirk that he would have if he were human, but against my better will I blushed again.
"Now this is serious, Bill. I don't want to get kicked out just because I let our mortal enemy into the house," I explained.
"Okay. Okay. Whatever, Pine Tree. I'll stay here and be a good triangle cause that's the only thing I can do. But I'm gonna watch what you do today since it's one of the only things I can do," Bill stated.
"How da-" I was cut off by the sound of something breaking downstairs. "Whatever, just don't cause trouble." I quickly slipped my jacket on so he could reply.
"Got it, Pine Tree." Bill floated over to my bed and just kind of sat on it.
"Good." I ran out the door and down the stairs, taking them by twos so maybe I could trip. I ran until I found the source of the noise and ruckus, which happened to be in the living room. In it stood the last two people I would want to see while Bill is here: Grunkle Ford and Grunkle Stan.
"Uh, hey guys," I spoke after giving a short cough to gain their attention.
"Well if it isn't my favorite twin!" Grunkle Ford smiled, I flinched slightly at the word favorite "Where's your sister Mabel. We came to surprise you two."
"She's still in Cali. She'll be here in a few weeks. Had a few things to take care of first," I explicated.
"That's a shame, I was really looking forward to seeing the both of you," Grunkle Ford commented.
"Hey, Kid. Got any money you could give to an old man?" Grunkle Stan asked, holding a hand out.
"Hey, Grunkle. Got any money you could give to a college student?" I retorted back, rolling my eyes at his greed for money. Oh how I missed the two of them.
"Good one, Kid," Stan commented, retracting his hand and putting it in his pocket.
I notices Soos was on the floor playing video games and his grandma was cleaning up a broken vase.
"So what happened?" I asked, referring to the broken vase.
"Oh, Stan here just got a little upset on how you and your sister would look more forward to see me than him," Grunkle Ford explained, smiling softly.
"That's totally a load of fairy dust," Grunkle Stan bickered.
Grunkle Ford gasped. "How dare you use that language, you uncultured swine."
"I see you two haven't changed," I noted, forcing a laugh. "Hey, Grunkle Stan why don't you go open the shop while Grunkle Ford works in the basement like good times sake."
"Great idea, Kid. Making money is the way to life," Grunkle Stan agreed, heading into the store part of the house to open up shop.
"Would you like to join in on my experiments, Dipper? We made some discoveries I think you would be most fasinated with," Grunkle Ford offered.
I pondered for a moment as if I wanted to then remember Bill's watching everything I do like some creepy stalker so I thought better against it. "I'm good. I think I'll explore town a bit and see how much has changed."
"Whatever you like, Dipper," Grunkle Ford agreed, nodding his head and then heading to the vending machine to go to the basement.
"I'll see you later Soos," I bid farewell to him before I headed out.
"See you later, Little Dude," Soos replied, not missing a beat in his game.
I headed outside and took a gander at what was around me. A lot of the forest has grown back around us, making me smile softly. I think I'll just go somewhere secluded in the forest and breathe in some fresh air.
I started to walk in an aimless direction, I believe East-southeast. I walked for a long time observing all the different types of trees and all the different kinds of foliage I stopped now and then to look at a flower I've never seen before though being careful cause you never know if it's some kind of monster.
Eventually, my legs got tired and I came to a small spring that let off crystal clear water. I took a seat by a tree near it and just stared at the water. I glanced at my watch to see it was 13:08 if I left at nine, that means I've been walking for 4 four hours. To get back before dark I should leave around three giving me two hours of relaxation.
I leaned back against the tree and closed my eyes, my face facing upward. I focused on the sound of the running water and other sounds of nature around me. I took a deep breath of air and smiled softly.
Everything you do is a mistake. You can't do anything right. Why do you even try? It's not like you have friends or family that care about you. I frowned as thoughts filled my head. This is one of the best and worst times for this to happen. Good because I'm alone, but bad because of the same reason.
All you do is bother people. You're such a burdern to others. No one really cares what happens to you. I brought my knees to my chest and hugged them, burrying my face into them. You're just a useless mistake. You think that anyone would care if you were gone.
"I would care, Dipper," I heard a voice say.
Why is Bill here? I thought I told him to stay in my room? Just another thing I screwed up.
"Look at me, Dipper," Bill commanded.
I slowly raised my head to look at the yellow triangle.
"You matter. You may not think you do, but you really do matter. I have had the choice to show myself to the towns people and have them kill me or I could have just obliterated myself, but I didn't. I didn't because I looked forward to getting to see you again. One of the two twins to beat me at my own game. One of the few people I accidentally came to care about by reading their thoughts because I could relate to them so easily. I have wanted to end it so many times, but I didn't cause the thought of seeing you again made me smile," Bill spoke softly, taking my face in his tiny hands.
"You know we can't be together even if I liked you back, cause I don't. But it wouldn't work out cause one you're a demon in the form of a triangle and I'm a human and two because my family wouldn't except a psycopathic murderer into the family," I argued. Why are you always so difficult? Can't you just have faith in one thing for once, you uselss mistake.
"If I get a human form will you give me a chance, Dipper?" Bill asked, staring at me with his one eye large.
"Maybe. I would have to take some time to forget of the awful things you did, but maybe eventually," I agreed.
"Great! Oh by the way, it's quite a turn on when you have tears in your eyes," Bill teased, floating back some.
"Wha.what!" I squeaked out, blushing a dark red.
Bill just laughed and started to float away somewhere quickly.
"Hey! Get back here you stupid triangle!" I yelled, chasing after him.
