Coming Back

(Dipper's PoV)

I stepped off the bus with my bag on my back and took a gaze at what I remember to be Gravity Falls bus stop. Man it's good to be back after six years. I started to walk to the Mystery Shack, which it's course I remember by heart. I strolled through the forest smiling to myself. I watched a few gnomes ride on some squirrels up a tree and laughed. Man have I really missed this place.

I reached the Mystery Shack and grinned. It's just as I remembered it. I ran up to the door and ran through. I quickly noticed the sign was turned to 'closed' when I did. Soos probably close the shop today because of my return. I ran into the living room and slid to a halt. There was Soos sitting in front of my Grunkle Stan's old chair, now Soos's grandmother's who currently sat in it.

Soos looked over at me and smiled, pausing his game. He stood up and walked over. "Long time no see, Dipper my dude."

"Hey, Soos. Long time no see," I agreed, pulling the guy into a hug.

"Can I stay in the attic for my visit?" I asked when we pulled away. Man, I've really grown. I can look Soos in the eyes almost. My eyes reached up to his chin.

"Of course, Dude. I'll come with you to help take your stuff," Soos automatically agreed.

"Nah, it's cool. I can take my stuff up by myself. Besides, afterwards you can show me Bill's statue. I haven't laid my eyes on his figure in ages and I want to take some notes on him while I'm there," I explained.

Soos nodded his head and sat back down, continuing his game while I got settled.

I took my bag upstairs and went into the attic. I walked over to my old bed and sat my bag on it. I took my clothes out and organized them into my old dresser and then set the books I brought along on top of the same dresser. I went over to the desk and grabbed one of my old notebooks and pens that hadn't been chewed on surprisingly. I ran back downstairs to see Soos still playing his game.

"You sure about this? I mean, what if he wakes up or something with you being there?" Soos questioned, pausing his game.

"That's not gonna happen, Soos. We killed him a long time ago," I consoled.

Soos nodded his head as put the controller up. He started to walk out and I followed after him.

After a few minutes of walking, Soos stopped.

"Here, it is," Soos informed.

I saw Bill's statue coming out of the ground being overgrown by plants.

"I'm gonna go. Looking at that thing just always gives me the heebie jeebies, Dude." Soos took a side step and then ran away, probably back to the Mystery Shack.

I just ignored that and walked over to the statue. I put down my notebook and pen and started to tear some of the foliage away so I could get a better look at it. Once most of the foliage was torn away, I picked up my stuff and sat under a nearby tree. I sketched out the statue and then underneath wrote 'Bill Cipher'. I started to write down all the information I knew about him on the page beside the drawing and the one after it. I had been really shaken up after Weirdmaggedon so having to remember some of that stuff kind of hurt. I didn't notice I was getting tired and accidentally fell asleep.

*Dream*

I opened my eyes to me standing in a thickly forested area. In front of me was my sister, Mabel. She seemed to be mad at me like she has been recently. Then our parents appeared beside her, smiling at her. They turned towards me and glared.

"You'll never be as good as Mabel," our mother said.

"Why can't you stop obsessing over those stupid fairy tales and be normal?" our father asked.

"We never wanted two kids. You were a complete mistake. We'd have been better off without you," our parents spoke together.

"Mabel help me!" I cried out.

She stood there looking at me sympathetically. "Sorry, Bro Bro, but you need to get over all your stupid mystery stuff. We're getting a little too old for that kind of stuff."

I stood there looking at her in disbelief. I had been betrayed by the one person who ever believed me when we got back to California. I looked down and started to cry.

"You're weak! Real men don't cry. Why couldn't I have a real son?" our father tormented.

"You was always our least favorite," our mother spoke.

I curled up into a ball on the ground and started to cry more. "Go away," I muttered."

"What was that? All I could hear was a coward speaking," our father said.

"I said, 'Go away,'" I spoke louder, more clearly this time.

"How could you? Don't you love us?" our mother asked, taken aback.

"After all we've done for you and this is how you treat us? You're nothing but a loser. A mistake! You've never done anything right before in your life!" our father yelled.

"I can't believe you're the one asking for me to go away, after I saved you countless times from your mistakes," Mabel said, offended.

"I'm sorry." I cried more and just let them yell at me.

*Reality*

I woke up in a cold sweat. Oh yeah. that was all just a dream. After returning home, I told our parents what had happened and they laughed taking it for my overreactive imagination, but as I got older I stayed by my claims while Mabel didn't. She became their favorite and I found out one night that they really only wanted a daughter. I started crying and my dad caught me and told me I was weak. My life turned into a living hell over the past six years which is why I'm so glad to be back in Gravity Falls. The only thing that can ruin my return is one being.

"Heya, kiddo. It's been a while hasn't it?" I heard a voice behind me ask. I recognized that voice instantaneously and it belonged to the one being that could ruin my summer, Bill.
