Chapter 6
It was now heading for June time, and it had been nearly a whole year since we had seen the boys in person, aside from at one point where we ran into each other in the airport in passing and only got to spend 20 minutes with them.
It was Ellen's plan to get ourselves to the airport for them coming back to the UK for a bit.
We were all getting ready, deciding to look our best for our boys. I was growing my hair out to its natural colour to let it replenish, so it was just a teal colour at the ends.
After I was finished getting ready, I walked downstairs, finding El and Tam ready to go since they were picking me up.
"I feel like I'm gonna be sick, I'm so excited," Ellen chuckled as we walked outside and I locked up my front door before following my two friends to Ellen's car.
"Me too," I smiled as we pulled away, nervously twiddling my thumbs.
We listened to random songs on the radio as El drove, occasionally stopping at the red lights to have intense singing sessions.
Within an hour we were at the airport and my heart was in my stomach as I got out, pulling the blue flannel Michael had left around me tighter.
We still had half an hour until the boy's flight got in but we were all too nervous to do anything.
We were currently standing in our small cluster at the arrival gates for their flight, as a tannoy announced their flight had landed.
This meant they were less than 20 minutes from being with us once more. I tried to suppress the smile on my face as I felt the excitement bubble up within me.
"They're coming, they're actually coming," Tamara was turning the small ring on her finger, looking wide eyed but still smiley.
There were a few fans standing to the side who were also eagerly waiting and we made some small chat.
But all talking stopped when I saw the four familiar figures within the crowd exiting the plane.
Before anyone could stop me I was launching myself at Michael, hands running through his fluffy blonde hair as I buried my face into his shoulder taking in his scent and feeling him lift me up slightly.
"Hi," I cried into his shoulder, unable to stop my ecstatic tears as we swayed back and fourth, ignoring all the looks we were getting.
I glanced over his shoulder at El and Tam, seeing each of them also wrapped up in their lovers' arms and my smile grew wider.
"Hi," Michael relied raspily and I buried my head back into his neck, kissing the soft white skin.
"I've fucking missed you so much," I said through my tears as he set me back down on my feet, peppering kisses all over my face.
"I know, me too," He whispered into my lips before attaching them to his own in a sweet yet passionate kiss. It felt like time had stopped as we stood there wrapped up into each other, ignoring the world around us.
"Management...agreed....that...you...guys....can...finish....the last....of the tour...with us," He said in between small pecks to my lips and I smiled up at him, intertwining their hands.
"You're tired, let's go home," I suggested as Michael struggled to keep back his yawn, giving me a lazy smile and a nod. I'd missed his kitten like characteristics over this last year.
"Guys," we're just gonna get a cab back," I informed the other two couples who were desperately holding each other, while Luke stood at the edge of the group, staring down at his phone screen.
He hadn't made any effort in maintaining our friendship like I had over this last year and it really hurt. I loved him like my brother and he couldn't even reply to a text, so why should I bother trying to talk to him when he would just blow me off for his phone anyway.
I helped Michael by taking his backpack from him as we walked hand in hand out of the airport, stopping occasionally to let fans get photos with him here and there.
Soon enough we were in the quiet serenity of the taxi and I told the driver my address, buckling up in the backseat as Michael lay down on his side, head resting in my lap.
It wasn't an entirely legal set up but I didn't complain as Michael smiled tiredly up at me, fingers tracing patterns on his temple.
"I really fucking love you, you know that right?" He asked seriously and I nodded, smiling down at him before leaning to place a kiss to his forehead.
"I really fucking love you too," I giggled, my eyes never leaving his as we made quiet conversation, eventually reaching my flat.
I thanked and paid the driver as we got out, taking Michael's bag as he got his suitcase and we made our way inside.

The next morning I was up before Michael so I decided to make some breakfast for the two of us. I had a plan and I needed it to run like clockwork.
As I fried the bacon and scrambled the egg, I hummed the tune of Heathens to myself, dishing up the food onto plates.
With uncharacteristic gracefulness I managed to actually carry both the plates upstairs without dropping any, for which I was quite proud of myself.
As I opened my bedroom door, I walked in to find Michael just beginning to wake up, yawning like a lion as he rubbed at his eyes, reminding me of a small child.
"Morning Mikey," I smiled as he sat up and returned my smile, wishing me a good morning as I sat next to him.
"What's this for?" He asked with a wide smile as he took his plate and kissed my cheek, mumbling thank you into my ear.
"Just a little something," I smiled as we ate, only making light conversation here and there.
As we finished, I felt the nervousness bubble up inside me as I set our plates on the ground for temporary sake and stood up from the bed, walking over to Michael's side and kneeling down so I was looking up at him.
"Now, I know this may look misleading but hear me out," I said to him as his eyes widened.
"Michael Clifford I love you to fucking pieces, and I just want you to never have to not be near me when we can be together, if that makes sense," I said as I began to pull the object that I had been hiding in my pocket.
It was a small key to my front door, and on it was a keyring with an 'M' on it.
"I was wondering if you'd do me the honour of officially moving in with me. Like permanently. Forever," I asked with blushing cheeks. I was such an idiot.
But my embarrassment faded as Michael nodded his head and I slipped the ring of the keyring onto his pointer finger, placing the sweetest of kisses to his lips as I stood up.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too, to the moon and back."
