Chapter 4
*October 23rd*
"Happy Birthday!" Michael's voice ran through my laptop speakers as he let off a mini part popper, causing Ashton beside him to jump slightly.
Ellen and I were having a Skype double date with the boys for our birthdays. Cause you know, what's what normal 19 year olds do.
"We wish you were here," Ellen said to the boys, and I nodded in agreement, blowing a small, almost unnoticed kiss to Michael who was quick to return it.
"And we wish you were here," Ashton replied with a sigh and everything went quiet for a bit.
I took one of the chocolate cupcakes Ellen had made from the plate, looking at the icing suspiciously before looking at my friend as she chatted away to her boyfriend on the screen. I continued to shift my gaze between the two before I finally plucked up the courage to mush the cake onto her nose.
"Oh you tit!" She screamed, doing the same to me and I grinned at her and then the boys on the screen who were in hysterics.
"How's the album launch so far?" I asked the boys through giggles, licking what icing I could from my face.
"Really good," Ashton answered with a grin and I nodded, listening as he went on to mention the different reactions fans had been posting on Twitter.
As if by coincidence, my phone lit up, showing me I had a notification from the trolling group chat. I hadn't left yet simply because I wanted as much evidence about what they were saying about me as possible. I never replied, just merely watched.
This time it was a comment about my cheeks, how puffy and red they always looked.
"Everything ok?" Michael's voice crackled on the other side of the screen and broke me from my thoughts. I nodded, looking up at him with a watery smile.
"We'll leave you to your chat," Michael said as he looked to Ashton beside him then Ellen beside me.
"Expect a FaceTime in a minute," Michael told me and I nodded, waving goodbye to Ashton and hugging Ellen goodnight before going to my bunk of the tour bus.
When the ringtone went off and Michael's smiling face popped up onto my screen, I couldn't stop the tears that began to fall as I hiccuped and gasped for air.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Michael's concerned voice came through the screen and it only caused more tears to fall as I tried to wipe them away fiercely, looking to him.
"Just hate and missing my family and you and tour stress is all just building up on me," I mumble, stumbling on my words every now and again.
"Shhh, it will all be ok," he tried to reassure. "Do you want to talk about it?"
I simply nodded, going to send him screen shots of the Twitter chat, mentioning to him how I had been added to this chat.
"And this has been going on for months?" He asked through gritted teeth and I could see the heat of anger begin to build in his cheeks.
"Yes," I croaked out, looking down at the MnMs World blanket on my lap.
"Why didn't you tell me?" His voice softened and I looked up to see he had slight tear tracks running down his cheeks.
"I didn't want to worry you, we have both been so busy recently," I reasoned and he sighed from the other side of the screen. "I don't like living this relationship through a screen."
"Neither do I," he agreed with a nod. "But there will be a day when we don't have to worry about all of this. We'll wake up every morning beside each other, and I'll turn to you and say "Good morning, Mrs Clifford." At least that's what I'm hoping for anyway," He said with a deep blush on his cheeks causing me to giggle.
"Me too," I sighed, astounded that he could turn my mood from sad to happy almost instantaneously.
"I love you," I said after a few moments of silence, looking up at him with a smile.
"I love you too, all the way to the moon and back," He grinned, and I heard shouting from in front of him where I couldn't see.
"Mikeyyy!" Luke's drunk voice called and I held my breath.
Despite the multiple text messages and FaceTime requests I had sent to Luke since we left, he had never made any attempt to contact me and it hurt. I felt like I'd lost my best friend, like he didn't want my friendship anymore.
"I'm talking to Meg, want to join?" Michael asked his drunk friend with a smile, and I smiled too, getting my hopes up that I'd get to talk to my best friend again for the first time in months.
"Nope, I can't, I'm not allowed," Luke's giggle in contrast to his words made my heart ache and I forced myself not to let more tears fall.
"What do you mean?" Michael asked him in confusion, looking back down to his phone at me and shrugging.
"You know what I mean Mike," Luke was so giggly as the door shut once more and Michael told me that he had left.
"He doesn't want to be my friend anymore Mike," I sighed, looking up at him.
"He's being a right idiot recently," Michael sighed with a shake of his head.
"Hopefully he bucks up his ideas soon," I tried to say optimistically and he nodded in agreement with a small smile.
"Megan, we have Soundcheck," Tamara's small voice called from the front of the bus and I quickly told Michael I loved him and goodbye before hopping out my bunk and following the girls into the smaller arena.

"Thank you Malaysia! We've been The Rockettes and we can't wait to see you next time!" Tamara shouted into her microphone as we bowed to the crowd of screaming fans before running off the stage.
We had to get straight onto the bus because we were finally flying back home for Christmas and New Years after a hard two months establishing ourselves in Asia.
I couldn't wait to just spend the time with my family, especially Alyssa since it felt like I was missing out on the majority of her childhood.
I had opened a fund for her so that no matter what happened in the future, she wouldn't have to worry about not being able to go to Uni or anything.
Soon enough we were already at the airport and the three of us were coming down from our stage high.
"I'm ready to go home and sleep for a week," Ellen stated as she stretched her arms and yawned and I chuckled at her.
"Guys, I have something to tell you," Tamara seemed nervous as we all wheeled our suitcases into the quiet airport.
"It's ok, you can go ahead Tam," Ellen reassured and I patted her back in agreement.
"Well, um, so, before we left," She was doing her nervous look around before a grin spred across her face.
"Yes?" I encouraged.
"Calum kind of proposed." There was no stopping the shining smile on her face now as Ellen and I looked on at her wide eyed and open mouthed
"That's amazing Tam!" I cried happily, breaking the silence as I engulfed her in a hug, Ellen joining too.
"And before the two of you go on about being too young, we've already decided we won't be getting married until way way into the future," She giggled and Ellen and I both nodded in agreement.
"Still, we're both so so happy for you!" I said, doing the happy dance. Tamara and Calum were rock solid and it made me extremely happy that they made each other happy.
"Anyways, let's get on this flight before we miss it and spend Christmas here," Tamara chuckled and the three of us walked with linked arms to the terminal.
~~~
YOU KNOW YOU'RE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE END WHEN THE PROPOSALS BEGIN!
Love, M x
(P.S I wrote the last half of this while I was on the toilet so yup)
