Chapter Three

Edited

~Kaylee

Great! Just freaking great!

I banged my fist on the steering wheel in frustration and it gave a loud honk in response.

Oh shut up! Stupid car.

I got down from the car shutting the door a little harder than necessary but what the heck. I was frustrated at this point. The damn car deserved it after suddenly breaking down, and I was only halfway home! Which meant I had to walk all the way back home.

My phone battery died down because I forgot to charge it and now I couldn't call my uncle.

Not that I would even call my uncle if my phone hadn't died anyway, an Uber would have been nice.

I just had the best luck today. Note the heavy sarcasm there.

Sighing in annoyance, I started walking back home. The stupid headache I had been feeling all day only getting worse by the minute, all I wanted to do was go home, fall on my bed and sleep.

According to the doctors, I wasn't supposed to do any strenuous activities that would make me exhausted which included walking long distance. I was going to use this chance to prove them wrong. To show them I can do it!

I can't do it!

I take back what I said earlier.

The ground swayed beneath me and I had to stop walking and stand still so I wouldn't fall over. I needed to rest or find some place to sit if I didn't want to pass out.

Stupid ground! Stop swaying! Hold still!

I was just about to give up on the battle with the floor when a car pulled up beside me. When I looked up I saw him. You don't need to think twice before you know who 'him' was. My eyes narrowed but I didn't say a word, just waited for him to go.

"Need a ride?" Christian asked, the tinted window of his Benz rolling down.

Trying to show off! Sure you have a working, expensive, good car and I don't. Who cares!

I shook my head and did my best to stand up straight and pretend like nothing happened. OK, maybe I was being a little stupid but everything about him annoyed me for some reason and I just wanted him gone.

"Are you sure? You looked like you were going to fall" he said raising an eyebrow at me.

In your dreams! I was perfectly fine!

Well the floor seemed to disagree with me as it suddenly swayed again and the next second, I found myself on the floor. I muttered a curse under my breath as I sat up, my cheeks heating up in embarrassment as I glared at the floor.

Great! Just great! Of all times, why in front of him!

The car door opened and the next moment Christian was kneeling on the floor next to me. A groan escaped my mouth as I felt a sharp pain shoot through my head.

''Are you Ok?'' he asked offering me a hand but I pushed it away.

''Pitch Perfect'' I mumbled sarcastically as I managed to get up.

He either didn't hear that or he just chose to leave it or ignore it. Hopefully, it was the first or I have a feeling he won't rest Knowing that I could actually talk.

He moved to open the passenger door for me and looked at me expectantly. I let out sigh and moved towards the car where he was. Guess I really don't have much of a choice, do I? I could be stubborn but I wasn't trying to die.

Yet anyway or at least not on the road, that would be so embarrassing. He was useful for now.

I got into the car and shut the door before he could, I'm not some weak little princess that couldn't do anything for herself.

He got into the driver's seat and drove off.

''I'll drop you at your house, you live two streets away, last house on the right'' he turned to look at me.

I frowned turning my gaze towards him.

How the hell did he know that? I'm sensing creepy stalker vibes here!

He laughed a bit before focusing his gaze back to the road.

''You don't go out much or even notice anything much going on outside right? Maybe you would have noticed when my family moved recently on your streets, we live just two houses away.'' he explained. ''I saw you on your way to school this morning, maybe it was fate that brought us together.''

Fate my ass! And who the hell is together. Once again he was useless, I knew it wouldn't last for long. I just ignored him and turned my face to the window as I looked at the houses passing by.

My eyebrows furrowed as I realised the road wasn't familiar and he must have taken a turn somewhere when I wasn't looking.

''Where the hell are you taking me?'' I exclaimed turning to face him with a frown on my face. ''If you're trying to kidnap me then you made a big mistake! I swear to-''

He interrupted me with the sound of his laughter making me frown even more if that was even possible.

''Am I amusing you?'' I asked starting to get pissed off the more.

''Kind off'' he replied, an amused smile playing on his lips as he looked at me. I clenched my fists trying to resist the urge of strangling him.

I narrowed my eyes at him and the smile on his face just got bigger.

Killing is a crime, I chanted in my head.

Killing is a crime.

Killing is a crime.

But it's not all too bad.....if it's worth it....

''I just took another route, I'll get you back home'' he said. ''I just wanted to hear your voice''

Killing is not a crime if you're not caught!

''That was dumb.'' I rolled my eyes at his stupid antics.

''But it worked, didn't it?'' he smirked.

''Whatever'' I grumbled feeling annoyed that he managed to trick me. ''You could have just...asked me.''

''And how do you think that would work out?'' he raised an eyebrow.

''Yeah so? What's so special about me talking?'' I couldn't help but ask.

''Nothing'' he answered plainly.

I stared at him for a few seconds wondering how someone you just met could be so infuriating.

"Ok, you're crazy and there's really no use talking to you anymore." I deadpanned.

''I was just determined to make the mute girl talk'' he said after a while. "And I succeeded."

So they added another one? The mute girl.

''Congratulations'' I said dryly. ''This will be the last time.''

''Trust me it won't'' he said with a smug grin on his face. ''And besides I know you already saved my digits''

''Then you really are dumb'' I said.

''So how come you didn't throw it away immediately, I saw you keeping it back in the textbook'' he smirked as my face heated up.

I knew I should have just thrown it away!

''I-I was going to g-give it back to you'' I said feeling my cheeks heat up more as I realized I stuttered.

''Yeah right keep telling yourself that Princess'' he said feeling satisfied and happy with himself as I just glared at him.

''Don't call me that'' I said narrowing my eyes at him.

''Sweetheart?'' he said.

''No.''

''Cupcake?''

''No.''

''Honey?''

''No.''

''Angel?''

''No.''

''Yes! Got it. How aboutttttttt'' he dragged drumming his hands on the steering. ''Gatita!''

''Dude what the heck? What does that even mean?'' I asked. "Is that even English?"

''Nope, it's Spanish and I'm not telling you but it's perfect for you.''

''No! Just call me by my name'' I huffed.

''And what is your name?'' he asked.

''Like I would tell you'' I scoffed.

''See? So I'm going to call you Gatita'' he said, another self-satisfied grin resting on his face.

How I would love to wipe that grin off his face.

''How about you don't call me at all, drop me in my house and never speak or look at me again?'' I asked in a sweet voice.

''How about.... No?'' he replied mimicking my voice and I groaned.

''It's hopeless with you'' I said and he laughed.

The car started slowing down till it stopped in front of my house.

''Finally!'' I exclaimed as I got down from the car.

''I'll see you tomorrow Gatita!'' he yelled as he drove off.

I stifled a groan and went into the house. The first thing or rather, person, I saw was my uncle peeping through the window.

''Who was that boy Kaylee?'' He asked raising his brow up.

"Someone of no importance to me" I stated dryly going upstairs.
