Meeting the Author
Saturday rolled around and I met with Iori-sensei at a local cafe. She was a pretty redhead and she had "New Mangaka" written all over her. I said, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Iori-sensei."
We bowed to each other and she said, "It's a pleasure to meet you too."
We sat down and we ordered some food and drinks. She started talking, "Well, the story that I have in mind is a romance between a rebellious girl and a nice, meek guy. I plan on making this a series."
I nodded, "That's nice. That story is actually becoming more common as of late and I find it more appealing that the bad boy and good girl anyway."
She chuckled. We continued talking about the story. I said, "This was very productive. Just work on the storyboard and we'll continue from there."
We left the cafe and I went back home. Then my cell phone rang. It was Onodera, "Moshi moshi."
"Sayuri-chan, I need you help with something. When a girl wants to be with a guy, but is too shy to say anything to the said guy, how does she usually act?" Onodera asked.
I laughed, "Onodera-kun, the majority of the time when that happens, she'll blush whenever she's around him and she'll think about him for days."
"I just wanted to be sure. Thank you, Sayuri-chan." Onodera told me.
"You're welcome." I answered. We hung up and I went to sleep.
-The Next Morning-
I walked inside the office and sat down. Mino-san walked in later and said, "Good morning."
I looked at him, "Good morning, Mino-san."
Kisa walked in afterward, "Ready to tackle this day?"
I chuckled, "Indeed I am. I had a good talk with my mangaka, so I'm pretty sure everything will be fine."
Onodera-kun came in running, "Am I late?"
I laughed, "No, you're on time."
"Which means he's late." Takano-san said, passing by.
I chuckled, then Onodera-kun went to me, "Sayuri-chan, thanks for the advice last night."
I smiled, "You're welcome, Onodera-kun."
Takano said, "You two can socialize when you leave work. For now, Midori, can you copy this for me?"
I stood up, "Sure."
I picked up the papers he gave me and I went to the copier. While I was making copies, Mino-san walked behind me and said, "Do you like it here?"
I looked up at him, "So far, yes. I don't really miss Sani to say the least."
Mino-san smiled, "That's good to know."
As he walked away, I couldn't help but notice the air of mystery around him. He smiles a lot, but one would think he was protecting a dark secret. Before I could ponder anymore on the topic, the copier was done. I picked up the original and the copies and handed them to Takano-san. He nodded and I went to my seat. Then a man with black hair and blue eyes walked in, "Takano! What is going on here?!"
It got quiet in the office real quick. While Takano and the other man argued, I asked Mino-san, "What's going on?"
"Another book of ours sold out too quick." he replied.
"Who is he and what's his job here?" I wondered.
"Yokozawa-san. He's in the Financial Department." Mino-san answered.
"Is it always like this?" I asked.
"Pretty much." Mino-san said.
Then Yokozawa-san turned his attention to me, "Who are you?"
I stood up and bowed, "I'm Sayuri Midori. I just started working here. I look forward to working with you."
Yokozawa-san looked at me, then said, "Alright. Takano-san, remember what I told you."
I felt weird. What was that look for?
