"Faster, they're catching up" Will says. "I'm coming, hurry up Kaleb " I say. "Ngh Im trying but my feet are killing me and the heat isn't helping" Kaleb says.

"Feet killing you or not this isn't the time to be slacking" I hear Mason say. "Mason is right, right now it's staying alive or be dead" Will says. Are they being really going to start right now. I better stop this before it gets out of hand I thought. "Guys, less chit chatting and more running. Remember why we are in the first place" I said.

I swear these idiots don't know when to behave but if I'm honest I don't really blame them. It's like we are on a time bomb and if we don't get as far as way as we can, we die. Right now we are running from a mob of zombies that we encountered on our way out to get supplies.

"Guys! Kaleb fell and we have to go back and get him" I heard Will say. That snapped me back to reality and out of my train of thought. "Damn it Kaleb, I'm on it guys" I tell Will and Mason. Thanks a lot Kaleb now I have to run back for you I thought.

I heard Mason say to leave him there because it's not just him that they are going to loose but me too. I ignored what he said and ran as fast as I can to Kaleb. I finally reached him and find out that he's bleeding.

"Come one Kaleb, I'll give you a piggy back ride to the shelter" I say. "But that's only going to slow you down just go on without me" Kaleb says. "As much as I'd like to give you a long speech about you being family and how much I care about you, I'm not going to leave you behind. Just get on my back because there isn't much time and I'm not arguing with you." I said.

He finally complies to what I asked and hops onto my back. "Hold on I'm going to get you out of here" I tell him. I ran as fast as I can and I see the shelter in the distance.

I can tell the guys already arrived because they are holding the doors open for us but not for long. My feet are starting to hurt but I can't give up yet. I keep telling myself that I'm almost there.

I'm a few feet away when suddenly a zombie comes out of no where and jumps on us. It makes me loose my balance and I end up dropping Kaleb. I feel like the air has been knocked out of my lungs but I still manage to get the zombie off of me.

With my peripheral vision I see that Mason and Will went to help Kaleb. Even though Mason was against me going back, I'm glad that he helped him out. Now I don't have to worry about getting to him after I fight the zombie off.

I see that they took him inside and now it's just me and the zombie. Once I'm on my feet and regain stability, I see that the zombie charges towards me. I have to think fast, so I look around until I see some boulders in the distance.

I make sure to fight it off as much as I can until we are both close enough, so I can throw it in that direction. To my luck, we were only a good two feet away and I took my chance to push it toward the boulders.

I saw that it got stuck in between the bigger boulders. That saves me some time to finally leave. I see that the zombie tries to free itself but it can't because it's lower body is stuck.

Good I thought and ran as fast as I could towards the shelter. Once I finally made it inside, I drop to the floor. After I got in, Will made sure to close the doors and lock it with a chain. I can now breathe peacefully I thought and that's when darkness finally took over.
