June 16, 2017: Today? Today was the final day of school! I barely did it, but I survived the year! Oh? Were you wondering about the money? Well, we made just under 50,000 dollars, actually, we raised 44,853 dollars and 93 cents. To be exact. It was pretty disappointing, but we tried really hard. That counts for something, right?
At least I know I can get through school now and accomplish a really big goal. Plus; I have Savannah at my side. Even Alex was a big help, so I guess we can give him kudos. I stared out the window at the field covered in the summer sun. I can't believe it's the last day. I sighed quietly.
"Hey, Maxy?" Alex asked, using a kind tone for once. I still despised that stupid nickname he gave me. I looked over.
"Sup?"
"Will you, uh, sign my yearbook?" He asked sheepishly. I snatched up his pen and book.
"Sure, why not?" I went to sign when he stopped me.
"There's a specific page you have to sign on..." His voice trailed off as he flipped through a few pages. I raised a brow at him.
"You better hurry up, or I'm not signing!" I teased while grinning slyly. He shoved the book in my face and looked away quickly. I read over the page 'sorry i was such a jerk.' "Your handwriting is impeccable." I joked with slight annoyance.
"Just read the rest..." He grumbled back. 'your actually pretty decent maybe we can be friends?' My eye twitched.
"You know you used the wrong you're right?" I whined, dropping my head. I wrote out my reply; 'Sure bro, just don't be stupid, like you normally are. Catch ya later. Have a nice summer. Oh, by the way; your spelling and handwriting are impeccable.' He read over my reply after I gave him his stuff back. He scoffed but gave me a thumbs up. "Catch ya later, bro." I agreed. He walked off. Amazing how fast an enemy can become a friend, isn't it?
The gentle bell chimed throughout the school, signaling freedom for the summer. I waved at Alex as I left. Then I waved at Dr. Pepper. I walked towards the meeting spot with Savannah. She's coming to my house today.
"Ready to go?" I grinned with the question. She held up her bag and nodded. I chuckled and we walked off towards the parking lot. I glanced back at the school, smiling slightly. I tried really hard, so maybe this school will actually be paid attention to now. Thanks, random voice! I smiled slightly to myself. You're welcome. The voice replied. My eyes widened with surprise. And that was that.
