Year: 2027 (Two hundred years before the main story takes place.) "Kai! Run! You need to leave me behind and get out of here, before the Boysur Wolves track the scent of my blood here."

"Soyer No. I will stay with you until the end. I will kill those wolves with my hands if i have too. But i will NOT let them near you." He hands me a set of pressure bandages. "Put those on. We will need to disinfect that gash later." His steely expression shows no signs of listening to reason. " *Sigh* You always were too stubborn for your own good weren't you..." "Well that stubbornness is saving your life is in't it?" "Yeah you got me beat there." I laugh lightly at the end of that and i stand up. Our small campfire is starting to burn out and i look at the quickly darkening woods around us. "We need more wood. WOULD you mind grabbing some?" I laugh at his crappy attempt at humor. Sure." "You know tomorrow's the last day. If we survive tomorrow we win this challenge. We can go home." I walk slowly into the woods making sure im careful so i don't re-open that gash. I start snapping branches off of the trees and bundling them up. I tie two bundles to my backpack and carry one of them. When i get back Kai is sitting on a log looking at something metal. "Kai? What is that?" I ask him warily. Its something to stop the pain. He hold it up to his head and laughs. "Even if we win... Do you really think what we saw here will just... Go away? Everything is seared into my brain. Alex's screams when the acid fog enveloped him. Alice's dead eyes staring up at me with her blood pouring out of her neck!? You really think we will just forget that!?" "Kai! Calm the hell down! I know it hurts but if you kill yourself here, the Gamemasters win. Alice, Sam, Alex, All of them will all have died for NOTHING!!" "So fucking what!? If its not me who dies then who will!?" Kai screams at me. never before in my life have i heard so much pain in his voice. "What if it's my sister!? Or your brother!?" "We will cross that bridge when we come to it." I then leap forward with my arms outstretched and hit him in the side of the head with a stone knocking him unconscious. I look around. There must be a gas vent that's triggering this. Or a venomous insect bite. I pull of his shirt and pants leaving him with nothing but his trousers on. I start checking his body for anything obviously wrong. Im not a medic so i don't entirely know what to look for but then i see a big purple and black bite on the side of his neck. It must have bitten him in his sleep because that looks painful. I grab a pair of tweezers from is med pack and pull out a Twister hornet. That would be why he went so ballistic i thought to myself. Twister hornets hurt so much they make you go insane. I look around in fear that there may be a nest near by. When i hear an arrow whiz through the air strait for me. I crouch and look for the person who did that. "Where are you! Get out here you bastard!" "I know your out there!" Using some old metal sheets i put together a poorly made body shield. i hear another arrow and this time face that direction so it glances off my shield. "Last warning!" I rummage around in my bag and find what im looking for. A Mk 2 frag grenade. I found this bad boy in a supply drop that came from an unknown sponsor. I wait for the sound of the next arrow and i throw. i hear a Sssssssss sound and i duck behind a thick tree. I hear the boom and i know the other guy is dead. After Kai woke up form the boom i put the antidote for the twister hornet on the sting. "Why would you use that grenade to protect me... i tried to kill you with my gun..." "Because in order to survive, you need a team."
