Rabbit
*Ok... so this is where consistency ends... mainly because I still didn't wrote the next chapter... Only these two... Sooo.... yeeaah
BUT BELIEVE ME! I'm now writing title names... because that gives me ideas about what to write, and where to put a cut to the flowing of a story throughout a chapter
(In case my grammar is gonna be weird... english is not my main language... yet I still manage to suck at my own language :'D)*
You were sitting down in the living room and were a little bit nervous.
Looking next to you, you saw a yellow rabbit sipping tea to help him ease his nerves. While on the other side of you, Lance was giving him glances of disapproval.
You might wonder how you even had your chance at this event. Well, for that, we must look back for a couple of hours.
-*-
"Huh... guess my intuition was wrong." You said to Lance as you looked at him confused.
"Maybe it was a rascal that hit the bell as a prank?" he asked you showing the same confused expression that you did, if you can say a frog's and a person's face look similar, which was, obviously not true, but for the sake of the story, we're just going to say it was... a close one.
"Up here? I don't think any kid would have the determination to just prank someone that lives up here, in the mountains." You said as you were about to close the door, only to hear a high-pitched voice.
"H-hey!" You looked out once more, trying to find the source of the voice. "D-down here!" You heard the voice say it again.
Upon request, you looked down.
"Well, what do I see? It seems I was correct, Lance, you jinxed it."
Looking down you noticed a yellow, or maybe blonde colored bunny in a box. Tilting your head, you smiled at him in a confused state. You then crouched down being closer to his height to show respect to him.
"Are you perhaps the one who called up to me, little bunny?" You asked him smiling at him to not make him nervous.
"I-I'm not a little b-bunny!" He said to you as he hopped out of the box. "And y-yes. Are you perhaps the one who made that weird water?" He -since you assumed his gender was male- asked you, nervously. You felt the uneasiness come around your back, as you didn't want to hear this question.
"Which water to be specific?" You asked him as you looked at him nervously.
"O-oh! This one." Said the rabbit as he handed you the empty water bottle.
If it being empty wasn't concerning enough, then what made you more aware, was that it was the bottle design that they sent you for the water you gave away.
"Oh, for fucks sake..." You tiredly murmured, before looking down at him. "Yeah, it was me who made it. I can recognize the water bottle design from everywhere." You said as you looked irritated.
"Really? I'm sorry to tell you this... but their design is rather..." He was about to say something but you immediately cut him off.
"Shitty?" You said as you looked at the bottle once more. "I know, and I would have asked for something more... pleasing to the eye as well, but they rather kept it like that." You said before walking inside while still looking at the water bottle.
From your back you obviously didn't notice the fact that Lance started giving glares to the newcomer, which made him nervous.
"You can come in, you know." You said without looking back. The bunny looked relieved while Lance looked at you, with betrayal shown in his expression.
"But... Y/n..." Lance said bewildered. His way of tone reminded you from an animated movie sequel, but you can't remember from which.
"What?" You asked as you finally looked at him, wanting to know if he was ok.
"...Never mind." He said as he hopped off your shoulder and skipped towards the living room. You still looked where he went before turning to your guest.
"So?" You looked expectantly at the rabbit. He, still a little nervous hopped inside.
As you closed the door behind him, you noticed how nervous he was. You looked at him before asking. "Would you like some tea?"
-*-
And that wrapped it up. Lance continued looking at the bunny boy angrily while you were and weren't making tea.
An awkward lack of conversation filled the room as the bunny continued to try drinking tea, even with the little paws of his. You, not really wanting to have this tension in the room started to ignore it and decided to ask him questions.
"So, Mr. ...?" You looked at him as he perked his gaze up, his ears cutely twitching.
"O-oh! Just Nimh is fine!" You smiled as he answered to you, his expression as if he tried to excuse himself, it looked adorable.
"So, Nimh." You started as you tried to not make him nervous. "Can you tell me what exactly happened? I may have made the water, but if it's not a big problem, I need to know a little more about your situation." You said as you looked at him.
You brushed off Lance's look of disbelief as you waited for him to start talking.
Nimh looked at you as he took a deep breath and started telling the story. He talked about how he got interested in going to the zoo that just opened, to how he suddenly got thirsty. As he continued his story, you slowly started to feel irritated about one particular part.
"So... After you got turned into a bunny you wanted to ask help from the person who handed out the bottles." You started as you saw him nod to it. "And they just left you for a brief minute only to give you, my address?"
"That's basically it, yeah." He assured as he looked at you confused.
You looked down for a brief minute, worrying both the bunny boy and froggy guy before you stood up and yelled at the nothing.
"YOU IRRESPONSIBLE CUNT!"
Nimh looked at you surprised as Lance quickly hopped to your shoulder.
"I would have been more normal about it if they went with you along to help you Nimh. But noooo. What did they do instead? They fucking left you on your own! No responsibility taken from it!" You continued yelling as Nimh just looked awkward.
Lance went to put one of his hands to your cheek. "First, let's just calm down ok." He started, looking at you. "What happened, happened."
"What happened, happened?!? WHAT I SEE IS NOT ONLY DID THEY IRRESPONSIBELY SWITCH A NORMAL WATER BOTTLE WITH THE ONE I MADE, which by the way, it's not that hard to distinguish, THEY ALSO JUST SIMPLY PUT THE RESPONSIBILITY TO ANOTHER PERSON!" You continued, before you felt something slimy touch your lips. You looked to your shoulder to see Lance putting his feet to your mouth.
"I GET IT!" He looked at you seriously, before you turned to look at Nihm who was speechless.
You coughed a little before sitting back down excusing yourself of your behavior. "Oh, I totally g-get why you are like this." Nimh reassured you. "To be honest, I would also give them my opinion, with... A-a 0 starred review f-for their customer s-service!" He tried to sound brave in front of you.
You blinked at him, before chuckling lightly at him. The fact that they understood your anger was already appreciative enough for your part. You gave him an earnest smile, which made him gave a shy smile toward you.
Lance coughed as you immediately looked at him, wondering what was that about, only to soon realize what Nihm was doing here. "Oh right! You should probably know a bit about your situation." You looked at him before you walked out on him.
He watched you go, before looking around. Nimh never had the chance to look around, but now that you went out for a little bit, he couldn't help, but be amazed over how everything is so neatly organized and decorated.
What Nimh saw around him was quite nice; some plants here and there, some nice curtains near the windowed door. As he moved a bit, he could feel himself sink on the sofa, which was comfortable enough. He noticed that everything looked hand made. Even the cup that he held looked like it was made by someone. Maybe this person knew an artisan, thought Nihm as he continued to be amazed by everything.
As you returned, you had brought up a book with you. Flipping through the pages you looked at Nihm, as you sat next to him, much to Lance's distrust.
"So," You started as you put down the book on the desk so you can show the contexts of it.
It looked like an old book, which was kept in pristine condition, though it didn't show signs that somebody never used it before. It's edges sure were a bit rounded, but it gave them the cozy feeling of what you'd expect when you want to read a book that you for sure would love to read more times.
Inside the pages, people were able to notice some characters, or scriptures, that was unrecognizable to Nihm. The characters twirling around, almost hypnotizing him before you speak up.
"To start off with the obvious, it would be clear to state, that the water that you drank wasn't a water. I just simply call it that, mainly because of the similarities between water in both looks as much as similar reactions." You explained as you looked at the book, pointing at a drawing of a clear liquid being poured into a glass. It indeed looked like water... However, the book clearly managed to showcase the difference from it, mainly with easily understandable sparkles around it, which wasn't the case in real life.
"It's main function of this beverage, or whatever we should refer to it, is to turn any people who drink it into an animal that mainly resembles them personality wise." You finished as you closed your book.
"B-but... this doesn't sound like it has any benefit to whoever drinks it!" Nihm points out the part which you weren't really proud of. You smiled awkwardly at him as he looked at you determined. "I-it is a really freaky thing!" he stated.
"Oh, I know more than anyone in this room." You murmured to yourself, but loud enough to let Lance hear it to which he looked at you unimpressed.
"A-and is there anything that you can do about it? L-like I-I don't know... we going to a quest in order to break this weird... c-curse? C-can we even call this a curse?" Nihm looked at you hopefully.
Looking at him surprised, you slowly started to feel bad for what you are about to say.
"A-although that might be surreal, since curses are only part of fiction, not real. Like magic, fairies and things like that... T-though... I am also in a situation close to that..." Nihm continued to ramble as you and Lance watched him.
"I-if magic would be real though, I would have wanted to be presented to it in a different situation not so... O-out of my own body, well in my changed body, one... P-plus if it were indeed true that magic could exist... t-that would put you in a situation in which you sound like a witch who curses people..." Your breath hitched as you heard him say that, but you needed to be clear with some things as well.
"Well... your theorizing isn't as far fetched as it may sound..." You started off as you tilted your head, and looked at him, him finally looking at your way after talking a lot.
"How so?" He asked you oh so innocently.
"Well... for starters, magic does exist. It's actually a fluent source around you, mainly in things portraying a strong essence of some main elements, in which magic and alchemy blend in together." You stated as you looked at him.
Nihm only looked at you with surprised eyes as he just processed all that information. "A-and how do you know all that? Are you perhaps some kind of magical creature or something? It would be funny if you were indeed that... like some kind of witch/wizard." He laughed to himself.
"That's because I am."
"...E-excuse me?" Nihm looked at you blankly as it looked like the information didn't reach him clear enough.
"I said that I'm a witch/wizard."
