Bonds Forged

Smaug's patience was wearing thin, pushed to the brink by this relentless villain, Ulysses Klaue. She knew that unleashing her true form now could result in cataclysmic destruction, tearing the very heart of the palace asunder. With a frustrated snort that emerged as a billow of smoke, the resolute black-haired girl took matters into her own hands and confronted Klaue head-on. He proved to be a formidable adversary, a tough nut to crack, but, in the end, their collective strength prevailed, and Black Panther reclaimed his Vibranium.

T'Challa extended his gratitude to the Avengers, acknowledging the haste of his initial judgment. A smile graced his regal countenance as he looked upon the assembled team. Smaug breathed a sigh of relief, finally finding some resolution to the intense conflict that had gripped the palace. She nodded in acknowledgment of the king's words, offering her own, "Na lû e-govaded 'wîn. Have a good day, your highness." With those parting words, she turned and began her journey back to the Avenjet, her fellow Avengers following in her wake.

As Smaug and her companions departed, they left Panther and his guards behind, their expressions marred by confusion and intrigue. Questions swirled in the Wakandans' minds, unanswered.

Once aboard the jet, Hawkeye couldn't help but inquire about the phrase Smaug had uttered. "What does that mean?" he asked. Smaug paused for a moment, her gaze distant. "It means 'bowman: Until next we meet.' It's something those in my homeland often say to each other in Elvish." Hawkeye nodded in understanding.

Thor, ever inquisitive, seized the opportunity to explore Smaug's origins further. "You've been with us for some time now, and yet, you've said little about your homeland. How is it?" he queried. Smaug's face lit up with a subtle smile as she contemplated her distant homeland. "Why not show you?" she proposed. With a few deft movements, she shared images of her homeland, offering her teammates a glimpse of the majestic sights she had beheld while soaring over Erebor and other wondrous places. Beauty that transcended words, revealed through the tapestry of images.

"I've seen the wonders of my world, and yet I have to see yours. Show me this place. Show me the home I will have here for as long as I'm here." With those words, Smaug expressed her curiosity and desire to explore the world beyond her own, to experience the beauty and complexity of the lands her fellow Avengers called home. The team nodded in agreement, their smiles reflecting the warmth of their camaraderie.

And thus, their journey with Smaug began, a dragon-shaped puzzle piece fitting into their eclectic team. Smaug, in her own unique way, would contribute significantly, making a difference that extended far beyond the battlefield. It was not every day that a dragon chose to ally with mortals and offer her kindness and assistance. Such rare moments were to be cherished and savored, and in their shared odyssey, the Avengers would discover the beauty of forging alliances across realms and the powerful bonds that transcended even the most extraordinary of origins.

The Avengers had been invited to the set of a film, supervised by none other than Ant-Man himself. The actors weren't exactly top-tier, and some of them seemed to lack the depth of character that the heroes had come to embody. As if the mediocre actors weren't enough to sour the experience, Scott Lang, Ant-Man, decided to show a video of an alternate universe where the Avengers existed, with a few notable absences. Smaug couldn't bear to watch actors portray her and her teammates; it felt almost disrespectful to see others attempting to embody their larger-than-life personas.

Soon, issues began to arise on set, with props intended to be harmless taking on a life of their own. The Avengers, with their years of experience, quickly resolved these minor threats. But then, Thor, of all people, chose to stay with an actor named Tad McDodd, who was portraying a Viking King. He wanted to experience what it was like to be the God of Thunder. Smaug found the idea utterly absurd, believing that no actor could authentically capture the essence of Thor's character. Ant-Man argued that nobody was perfect, which irked Smaug, though she managed to keep her composure.

Their next mission quickly took precedence as they ventured to find the puppet master behind the sentient Lava Men. They encountered a disgruntled prop master known as "Egghead," a name he'd grown to despise, used derisively by those around him. Resentment had festered, and he sought vengeance for his perceived mistreatment. With a sinister flourish, he summoned the sentient Lava Men to attack the Avengers.

Smaug, never one to back down, let the fire in her hand blaze to life. If battle was the course of action, she would fight fire with fire, for her flames were unrivaled. "Hah, pathetic. I slay trolls in my sleep," she taunted, launching an attack on the nearest Lava Man.

The battle for Los Angeles raged on, with Egghead displaying his expertise by creating robot eggs and chickens. It was bizarre and disconcerting, but the Avengers, in their unity, ultimately triumphed, sending the disgruntled puppet master to jail.

Thor returned from his adventure with Tad, who had been thoroughly spooked by the sights of Asgard. Smaug raised a brow at the man's terrified reaction, but Thor explained with a chuckle, revealing that he had shown Tad the grandeur and power of their realm. Smaug playfully nudged Thor and commended him, "Good work, Asgardian."

The team, fatigued but content, returned home. They had gained a new member in Scott, who had left behind his life in movie-making to rejoin the Avengers. Smaug was relieved; Scott seemed like a good-hearted individual, though she couldn't help but feel unsettled by his connection to ants. Her aversion to insects ran deep, and she hoped Ant-Man could keep his tiny companions at bay.

In the Avengers tower, Smaug had found her sanctuary, her own space adorned with images of her home, Erebor, and her dragon friends from Alagaesia, such as Saphira, Glader, and Shurikan. These images were precious reminders of a time before she was transported to this unfamiliar world, guided by unknown forces.

Observing her team members as they laughed and interacted, Smaug felt a sense of belonging that warmed her heart. This unlikely assembly of mortals had become her family, kind, loyal, and unyielding. They had embraced her, needed her, and together, they formed an unbreakable bond. As a team, they ensured that nobody would be left alone, to face their fate or meet their end in isolation. Smaug had her kingdom to rule, but it was in capable hands with the dwarves, and perhaps, someday, she would return to her own throne.

Maybe.
