Prologue
The concept of Fate, Destiny, The Balance, and Error being the forced destroyer of Au's belongs to the writer harrish6 . They have given me permission to use their idea in my story. That being said, there will be some parts in the prologue that are directly copied from their story called 'Healing What Has Been Broken'. Keep in mind I was given permission to use it and in no way, shape or form am I claiming their work as my own.
-Chapter Start-
In the beginning, before any Au's were created in the Multiverse there was just empty, black nothingness. And in that empty, black nothingness lived two goddesses who went by the name of Fate and Destiny. Fate was the one who created the first world. Fate was the one who brought life to that Multiverse.
After Undertale was created, all alone and empty sitting in its place in this Multiverse, Fate created Ink Sans, the one who would become the creator of all the other AU's.
As he was created, Fate whispered the words of his fate, his job. To create more universes and to keep them safe. But there was only so much room, so he had to make them last, make sure the universes never touch another or else they would destroy one another.
But there was a problem. Ink did not hear the words of Fate, he did not know of his job and duty to the Multiverse. All Ink knew was that he had the power to create, something he loved doing more than ever. He felt so lonely he never stopped creating more and more. He created so much, never stopping. And although he loved each one like his children, Ink never stopped to think about what would happen if he created too much or what would happen if too many AU's were created. Fate could not let this go on as it soon looked like the AU's would touch and crumble, or worse the original universe would soon be lost destroying everything else with it.
Destiny found out about Fate's dilemma and offered to assist them. Fate gladly accepted Destiny's offer, together the two of them would figure out a way to save this Multiverse. Destiny suggested Fate create another being like Ink except his purpose was to destroy, this way they could keep each other in check. Although it was a great idea it was too risky to create another being like Ink. What if they could not hear Fate's words like Ink? That new being could end up using their power recklessly just as Ink had. This would only speed up the destruction of the Multiverse. Their problem was greater than Destiny anticipated. They were back to square one with no ideas. Countless days passed and yet Fate and Destiny did not have a solution. With each day the Multiverse was brought closer and closer to its destruction. One day Fate claimed she had an idea that would save the Multiverse. Fate told Destiny if they could not create a destroyer then they would simply have to form one. Destiny did not understand. What did Fate mean by form? Fate explained her idea in detail to help Destiny understand. When Destiny finally understood she was horrified. She couldn't believe Fate had actually considered doing something so horrible. Fate wanted to rip a Sans from their home and force them to destroy for the sake of humanity. Destiny rejected the idea, they could not take an innocent person and force them to do something they had not wished to do. Fate and Destiny argued over what to do for hours. In the end, Destiny got Fate to drop the idea or so she thought. Fate went behind Destiny's back and did her plan anyway. Fate went to a random Au, took a Sans and put him in a place called the Anti-Void.
The Sans has no idea what was happening as he was torn from his home, and could only watch as everything he loved and wanted was ripped from his hands and erased. He tried everything to get out of the Anti-Void; running, walking, teleportation, using his gaster blasters, and finally calling for help. But as he cried, he knew no one would save him.
He screamed until the screams started to scream back.
Fate screamed with the other voices. Whispering did nothing for Ink as he was created, as he never heard her words, so screaming had to work. Fate could not let this one do what he wanted like Fate let, and continued to let, Ink do. This one could not run free.
Fate screamed about his fate, his job. He was to destroy so others could grow, destroy so that there was room. Fate never stopped screaming at him, the voices never stopped screaming at him so that he would not get out of line.
Soon the Sans changed. His bones turned darker, his tears staining his face to show his internal cries never stopped, he became corrupted. Soon he became nothing but a glitch in the system, nothing but an error.
Error felt so angry, so hateful at what Fate has done to him, even as his memories started to leave him. He forgot what it was like to eat, forgot what his brother looked like, he forgot how to love and be loved in return, he even forgot what it was like to feel. The Anti-Void and Fate made sure of that.
When Destiny found out what Fate had done she was enraged. Destiny was disgusted with Fate. She could clearly see Fate did not care for Error. Fate only cared for Ink and the Multiverse, everything else meant nothing to her.
When Destiny saw Error in the Anti-Void he looked so helpless, so broken. He did not deserve this. He did not deserve this fate that was bestowed upon him. If anything he deserved to be loved, he deserved to be happy. Destiny decided she was going to help him. She wouldn't be able to help much, but she would do what she could. Destiny was going to help Error meet someone that would make him happy and give him the love he deserved.
