Chapter 21

I'm super tired... but this is important. A young woman with long raven hair and blue dyed tips at the end of it thought, walking down the hall of the certain white haired male's apartment complex in the Poor District.

Okay. I made it. Now, time for the real deal. Mae thought before knocking on the door multiple times.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." The male said before opening the door. "Hey Mae- wow, you've seen better days."

"Thanks...That's something a girl always wants to hear." The dark haired girl said sarcastically with a roll of her eyes.

"Sorry, sorry, come in." Lloyd said, getting out of the doorway.

"Actually, I have something I want to ask you..." Mae said, holding her purse a bit closer to her, and gripping her purse strap tightly.

"Huh? What's up?" The white haired male asked, a bit confused.

"Is it true...?" Mae started and Lloyd raised an eyebrow. "When we first met you wanted to kill me just to steal money?"

Lloyd felt his heart rate speed up, sweat creased his brow. How does she know that...? I was the only one that- wait a sec... That blonde BITCH!

"Lloyd, that's not true... right...?" She asked.

The green eyed male let out a sigh of annoyance. "Yes... I don't want to say it... but... it's true... at first... I wanted to kill you, or at least knock you out and rob you-" the young woman was about to cut him off, yet the male was too fast. "-BUT now I realize what a great person you are and don't!-" this time she cut him off.

"However when you didn't kill me, you decided to play around with me." Mae folded her arms. "Lloyd... you lied to me. You've led me on for more than a year."

The male gulped. "Mae, it's not like that-"

"THEN WHAT IT IS LIKE?!" The raven haired girl yelled, cutting him off. "You wanted to harm me just to take a few dollars... Now you've just been humiliating me! I... can't believe you...!" The blue eyed female said before getting away from the doorway and down the hall as fast as she could.

"A wise, incredible killer who I won't ever want to run away from..." Wait a sec... Lloyd's thoughts were going a mile a minute before he chased her down the hall. "Hold on...!" The male mumbled.

Mae was right now pinned to the hall floor by Lloyd, her purse and everything inside it scattered everywhere. "H-Huh?! What's going on?! GET OFF OF ME!" She yelled, trying to thrash away from him. "STOP!"

"P-PLEASE CALM DOWN!" The white haired male yelled.

"NO!" The dark haired female replied, still trying to hit him off. "LET GO OF ME!"

"Listen to me... just for a second!" The green eyed male said, pulling his black face mask down. The raven haired girl gulped but nodded as she carefully sat up.

Lloyd then explained his situation, when they first met. "I know I'm a horrible, terrible person... I'm sorry. You can hate me." The male said, looking ashamed.

"I... honestly don't know what to think now." The young woman said. "I already said I trusted you..." she then shrugged.

"But that's gone, huh?" The green eyed male asked.

"I don't know... then I already said 'I liked you, I liked you a lot... Now, I don't know what to think... I just feel like an embarrassment..." The young woman said, slamming her face into her hands.

"Please don't say that Mae... you're not an embarrassment." The male replied. "It was my fault..."

The green eyed male let out a sigh. "What do you think of me now?" He asked, staring at her.

"Simple. You're a mess." Mae answered nonchalantly before looking up at him.

"That was rude." The white haired male replied. ...But not wrong...

"That was the intended purpose." The blue eyed female sighed. "Why the hell did you just pin me down in the hall?" The young woman asked.

"...You said you wouldn't run from me..." Lloyd said, running his hand through his hair. "...It's stupid I know... you're allowed to live your own life-" The male got cut off.

"Lloyd... what are you trying to say?" Mae asked, tilting her head.

The green eyed male blushed a little, not expecting to ever say this to a person ever. "I love you, and I at least just want you in my life, even if it's only a little bit. That's what I'm trying to say." The male explained. "If you couldn't tell from all those things I did!"

"Oh." Was all the blue eyed girl could respond with a surprised look on her face. "That... wasn't an act...?" The female inquired.

"'Oh?!'" The white haired male repeated "And NO that wasn't an act! You really thought me going to the whole organization was an act?!" The male asked, annoyed.

"Sorry, sorry," The raven haired girl said, waving her hands in an apologetic form. "I just wasn't expecting that... from you especially."

Lloyd bit his lip, unsure of what to say to that. Yes, this has happened before where she wasn't expecting something nice coming from him. The male just gave an internal sigh, not wanting to cause any more trouble than he already has in the past few moments.

"Well... it's not like I'm not entirely 'un-messy' myself." Mae tried to make him feel better, as well as change the topic. The female brought her knees up to her chest. "After all... that whole gun situation..."

Lloyd let out a small laugh. "Well we got that figured out." He smiled.

The dark haired young woman let out a small laugh as well. "Yes... I guess we did..." she mumbled, leaning against the back wall, her laugh changing to a frown "but still we can't change what you did or wanted to do to me in the past."

"I know. I'm sorry." Lloyd said, looking at the floor.

"I'm just glad you didn't kill me... or at least knock me out." The blue eyed female said with a relieved sigh.

"Hey..." The white haired male said, which caused her to raise an eyebrow.

"Yes?" Mae asked.

"Why the hell did you bring me with you that day? When I could've killed you... or knocked you out and stolen from you." The young male asked.

She had a startled look on her face, the girl was trying to remember herself. Huh? That's right...? Why did I do that...? It was because... he forgot his birthday and his age... and because he said one word... what was it... it was...

The raven haired young woman brought her pale hand to her chin, trying to recall that day and that one word. Was it 'intriguing'...No! Something similar though... and he said it in a positive way...

It was... it was...! INTERESTING! I REMEMBER! OH MY GOSH! "I REMEMBER NOW!" Her expression was very ecstatic. The male looked up from the floor and glanced at her.

"Alright... why?" Lloyd asked.

"After I felt bad about bumping into you, we went to the vending machine... You... didn't know your own birthday or your age...! And you called me interesting... in a positive way!" Mae said. "Then I guess we continued to run into each other from then on there..."

"Wait? Wait, wait. Step back a sec, a reason was because I called you 'interesting'?" The green eyed male asked, and the female nodded. "In a positive way?" The girl nodded again. The whisper white haired male stared blankly at her. "...You're an idiot..."

"Look, I don't have high self esteem... and you could see why from when you met those girls." The blue eyed female replied, and the young male sighed, scratching the back of his head.

"Ah, geez... well if you still have some trust in me... I guess we should work on that too." He smiled. "As well as your muscles."

Huh? She then just smiled before laughing a little. "Okay... I'm fine with that..."

Mae then yawned. "...I want to go home... I've been tired all morning."

"Alright, I'll take you back." Lloyd said, pulling up his black face mask, and standing up. He helped her pick up all the things that were spilled from her purse and then helped her stand up.

"Thank you..." Mae said.

"Are you too tired to walk or...?" Lloyd asked and she shook her head.

"I'm okay." The raven haired female answered.

"Do you not trust me enough to carry you?" The green eyed male asked as they started to walk.

She waved her hands to show no offense. "N-No! It's not that! It's-" The blue eyed young woman got cut off.

"Calm down, I was kidding." The man shrugged.

Mae gave him a pout. "You're smirking behind that mask again, aren't you?" The female asked.

"Yes, yes I am." Lloyd said, flicking her forehead.

"I'm going to get you back one of these days, and that day will be soon." She said, angered.

"What, all I am doing is flicking you, nothing harmful like knocking you out." The green eyed male said.

"I'm worried because I'll most likely start doing it a lot to my sister and brothers." She explained.

"Have you?" He asked, looking at her as they walked.

"..." the blue eyed female stayed quiet.

"Well there's my answer-" The young male said with a sigh.

"Shush!" She said, cutting him off.

And just like that they continued their walk, it wasn't entirely awkward, just quiet. However, Lloyd had a question on his mind.

"Um hey?" The green eyed male started.

"Yes?" The blue eyed female replied.

"You found out that information from that woman, correct?" He asked.

"Makayla? ...Yeah, I did." She answered.

"Do you mind me asking... where did she find you?" Lloyd asked, nervously.

Huh? Why? Mae raised an eyebrow, looking up at the white haired male. "Last night at my house. She came into my room..." She told him, kind of getting anxious herself.

"Shit... I was worried about that. We need to go!" The male grabbed her arm and started running.

"L-Lloyd?! W-What's wrong?! You're worrying me!" The young woman asked.

"Just follow me!" He told her. Shit! This is my fault! The male thought as he ran, her behind him. If I had told her to just go away that day! Or if I walked away and just ignored her like I planned to do! Fuck...!

"Lloyd!" Mae yelled, finally pulling her arm out of his grasp.

"Gah!" The male's attention turned to the raven haired young woman behind him.

"Please! Tell me what's going on!" The raven haired female yelled, her blue eyes had panic in them, unsure of what was happening.

"Mh... fine... but you might not like what I'm about to tell you..." Lloyd said, his light green eyes had a look of disappointment in them, so she knew it couldn't be good.

Both young adults were short of breath as they finally made it to the Evans house. "M-My front door is open...?" Mae said nervously to Lloyd. "This doesn't usually happen."

"I'll go upstairs, just in case, okay?" The whisper white haired male said and the raven haired female nodded.

The dark blue eyed young woman carefully walked up to the doorway, she closed her eyes and gulped a bit, preparing for the worst. She walked into the entryway and what she saw she didn't like.
