Emptiness.

This is all the little kitten felt.

Longing, depression, and dead.

The emotions of loss that were coursing through her were crashing down like a tsunami every time she closed her eyes.

She longed to see her family again; to feel their fur, their everlasting love for her. She needed them close again.

He loved her for who she was, from her tail to her whiskers.

He didn't want to see her go.

He was her only chance of living.

As she was about to leap off the miraculously tall building, he stopped her.

"Don't do this," he mewed. "I will be your family, I will love you and cherish you forever. Don't be afraid."

He was beside of her now.

She carelessly flung herself out of the window, tumbling down, down, down. She died not even ten seconds later.

He was heartbroken.

He couldn't live without her.

So he flung himself out the window, too.

They would meet again in heaven, the one that got away.
