Rescue

Ethan awoke, confused at first to why he was lying behind a plant. He soon came to his senses, including his sense of how much pain he was in, and with an aching stomach got to his feet. He only had one thought in his mind; Hannah. He remembered telling her to go to the tunnel in the play-place by Marshalls and he hoped to God that she had gotten there safely. He started making his way to Marshalls and was about half way there when he was stopped just as he was about to round a corner. He heard voices coming from around the corner, an almost chanting that sounded like "Wiggly". Then he reminded himself that ToyZone must be just around the corner, maybe the chanting was coming from there. He wondered whether Lex was still there, what if she was trapped? Or had already been killed in one of the brawls over that stupid doll? He had no way of knowing where she was or what she was doing. He knew now that he had to make a decision; should he rescue Hannah, or Lex? On the one hand, Hannah would be a lot easier to get to, since she wasn't in the middle of the action, and she was a child, she must be so scared all alone. On the other hand Hannah was in a safe place, and Lex was in a lot more danger, plus Lex probably also didn't know what was going on or if either of them were safe. It was a tough decision, but he knew that Hannah could wait for a little while longer, and that Lex was in much more imminent danger. So Lex it is.

Hannah woke still in the tunnel. She had slept longer than she wanted to but at least she was still safe, that was until she saw a green light shining from her bag. She felt her blood run cold as she slowly unzipped the backpack. The green light got brighter the more she opened the bag, she took out the Wiggly, the light coming from it almost blinding her. All of a sudden the light dimmed, leaving only a faint glow. But in replacement of the light there came a voice.
'Hello, Hannah, let's be Paly-wals. Don't you want to tickle my tumsywumsy?'
'No! Webby says you're bad! She said you'd try to trick me!' Hannah's mind was racing, she was so scared she could hardly breathe. She began to cry out of pure and utter terror.
'Well Webby is a stupid bitch. You could have served me willingly, but you're being a rotten little banana. I'm going to have to peel you. I'm going to split you in two. I'm going to eat you, Hannah. I'm going to eat you right the fuck up!'
'No!' Hannah screamed, she regretted it immediately after she did, knowing that it could have drawn attention to her. She began sobbing hysterically. She soon heard voices, close enough that she could hear their breathing.
'Careful Tom, those maniacs could be anywhere.'
'Look, Becky, about what we just did-'
'Tom, look, it's a little girl!' Oh no, they had spotted her. She couldn't help it, she let out another sob, one that wracked her whole body.
'And she's got a Wiggly doll.' Hannah knew that she should run. That she should run and find a new place to hide. But she felt so bad for these people, they were under the spell, the spell that Webby had warned her about. Now was her turn to warn them.
'Don't listen to him, he's bad, he'll trick you!'
'Aw, don't worry kid, we don't get tricked. We're grownups.' That was exactly why they would get tricked. Grownups have the need for adoration and acception much more than children do, and they also feel that they have to work a lot harder to get it. Hannah wanted to tell them this, but she knew that it was no use. They were blinded by their need for approval.
'You can trust us, we're good people.' Yeah like hell you are. Hannah started to walk away, knowing that the longer she stayed the more dangerous it became.
'Whoa, whoa, wait, where you goin' sweetheart?'
'California.'
'Did you hear that, Becky? She's goin' to California!'
'Land of Hollywood and movie stars!'
'But that's an awful long way to go, and that doll looks really heavy. Why don't you hand it over.' Of course they also want the doll. What is it with adults and this doll? She knew for a fact that none of her friends wanted one, and she definitely didn't. But Webby had told her that she shouldn't let anyone have the doll. Plus, Ethan would have wanted her to keep it, for Lex.
'Uh-uh.' The man started to walk toward her, she began to back away.
'Why are you backin' away from me, kid? I'm not gonna hurt you.' Hannah remembered what happened to Ethan. She knew what people would do for this doll.
'Listen, I've been through hell today tryin' to get one of those dolls for my son. He's about your age.' Great, now he's trying to guilt trip me, well it won't work. His son probably doesn't even want the doll.
'And I'd do anything for him, any goddamn thing. Even if it means pounding the guts outta some little twerp, now give me that fuckin' doll!'
'No, no, no, no!' Hannah knew that she should have run immediately, that she shouldn't have stayed and listened. And now it might be too late to save herself. She ran as fast as she could, hearing the voices yelling behind her. She planned to get as far away as possible but everywhere there were people, searching. So instead she tried to hide somewhere, although there weren't many good hiding places. Soon she was found again, by some other crazed shoppers, so she had no other choice than to run. She ran back in the direction of the man and woman, hoping to sneak past them. The closer she got she heard eerie sounds, almost liking singing. It sounded like they were asking whether she wanted to play. Of course she didn't want to play with them, they were going to pound her to a pulp and take the doll off her. Yet she found herself getting drawn to the music, not being able to ignore it. She soon was close enough to see them, she was planning to sneak past but she tripped, drawing their attention.
'Becky.'
They continued to sing their song, asking her to play. But now they were slowly walking toward her, and the woman had one of her hands behind her back. Hannah races up the stairs to Marshalls, hoping that she would be safe there, at least for a little while. Soon one of them started following her up the stairs. She ran through Marshalls and left through the other side, getting immediately lost in the middle of the mall. She soon ran through a door way and found herself out the front of Marshalls again right in front of the people she had been trying to escape. She looked around trying to find a way to escape, when she was grabbed from behind.
'Hahaha, I got her, Becky, I've got her!'
'Hold her still.' Hannah could see that the lady was holding a syringe. The lady was about to stab the needle into her when there was a loud BANG!

Sorry for the cliffhanger, I couldn't resist;)
Hope you all have a good day!
Love Y'all!
