Linda
Hannah was pulled out of the dark room she had been kept in, her hands were tied behind her back making it harder for her to fight the person who was pulling her. She was tugged unceremoniously to the front of ToyZone where people stood in a sort of semicircle. She was shoved into the middle of the semicircle, she tried to run but one of the men grabbed her and held her in place. She soon realised that the woman who had tried to take her earlier at the play place was also here. She was being held up by two people and seemed to be knocked out, her head limply hanging down and her eyes closed. After standing there for a few moments a blonde haired woman came down a set of stairs.
'Yes, Gerald, I'm about to get the doll. Yes, they found the child. No, I'm not going to put you on speaker, Gerald. No one wants to talk to you.' The woman shut the phone she had been talking on and turned to face the group that were stood at the bottom of the stairs.
'Yes, bring the heretics to me!' She started going down the stairs. 'Ho ho! Becky Barnes, why am I not surprised? Of course I'd find you here clinging to your antiquated sense of justice. Thrown out by your ex boyfriend who you had just started to love again. I would have hoped you had learned by now that no one loves you! Becky, wake up, belittling you isn't fun if you're not upset. Huh, she's drunk, again. The only man that'll have her now is Jack Daniels. Ha, get her out of my sight!' The woman then went down the stairs completely as the other woman, Becky, was taken away. She then turned to Hannah.
'And you, you little shit.' Hannah was pushed forward and pushed to the ground. 'For too long you have kept the shepherd from his flock.' Hannah curled into a ball as this was said, rocking back and forth her fear felt crippling, she didn't know why she was in this situation. Through the fear she remembered the hat Ethan gave her. He said it would protect her.
'Uh, magic hat, nothing can hurt me.' Hannah whimpered as she held the hat to her head. She felt slightly safer knowing it was there, she knew that it was likely the hat did nothing but she also knew Ethan wouldn't lie to her so it must be magic.
'Haha you little fool. You think this is going to protect you, a magic hat? That's ridiculous, only dolls are magic! And I'll be taking mine thank you very much.' The woman yanked the hat off of Hannah's grab and handed it to another woman is a cat sweater, the other woman looked kind, if only she hadn't been put under the doll's spell. The blonde woman grabbed the bag from Hannah and forced it open, only to find it empty.
'What, is this some kind of a joke? Where is he, answer me! Or I'll open your mouth with my fucking knife!' Linda gripped a knife and moved toward Hannah. A yell suddenly echoed through the store.
'Hey!' There stood Lex, holding a Wiggly into the light. One of Linda's servants pointed toward Lex.
'Prophet, there!'
'The God!' Another of the minions yelled. Everyone who had been gathered around Hannah reached out their hands toward the doll.
'Is this what you're lookin' for?' Lex yelled to the masses, though she felt slightly overwhelmed with everyone looking at her.
'He's radiant.' Someone said from the crowd.
'He's beautiful!' Another yelled. Meanwhile Linda was climbing the stairs so she could tower over everyone else.
'I haven't changed my mind, little girl. I still want you dead. HAHA and I thought your sister was stupid. Coming into the lions den, completely outnumbered, with a doll?
Your a fucking moron!' Linda seemed completely deranged by now, spit coming from her mouth with every word. Out of nowhere Tom is at Linda's side holding a gun to her head.
'Then you've been out-foxed by a fuckin' moron.' Tom says. 'Back off, let the kid go.'
'The prophet!'
'Blasphemer!'
'You have no idea what you're doing.' Linda mutters, looking down toward her minions.
'Everyone listen to me, this doll is not your god. It's not gonna fix your miserable lives! This cult of comfort is bullshit! If Wiggly is your god, then let him try and stop me from doing this.' Lex stepped up a few steps and held a lighter up to the doll.
'No!' The crowd yelled as a high pitched scream was heard. The scream was coming from Linda. As she screamed she grabbed Tom's wrist and twisted as hard as she could. He yelled in pain and was shoved to the side by Linda. Linda continued to scream as she descended down the stairs toward Lex and Wiggly. Wiggly was wrenched from Lex's hand by Linda and then Lex was shoved down the stairs. Linda held the Wiggly doll up.
'Oh.' The crowd breathed at their god was raised above their heads, the all fell to the ground and bowed. Linda began to sing and everyone else joined in, somehow knowing all the lyrics and choreography. As the song came to an end they were interrupted.
'Hey!' Becky Barnes stood holding a gun, her hands shaking. Linda looked up into her eyes.
'Hahahaha Becky Barnes, you pathetic worm! You think you can stop the birth of a God? You couldn't even stand up to your disgusting husband! Look at you, you're paralysed with fear.'
'No. I'm just lining up my shot.' A single shot rang through the mall as the prophet fell.
'The prophet!' The crowd cried.
'Oh mother!'
'Oh God.' The crowd was absolutely distraught. One of the men who had caught Linda got his phone and dialled a number.
'Gerald, yeah, it's Gary, yeah. We gotta talk about the will. Goldstein!' The crowd wails in sorrow of the loss of their prophet. Becky rushes over to where Tom, Lex and Hannah are standing.
'Tom, are you alright, girls?' Becky puts her hand on Hannah's shoulder, as she does a memory flashes in her head.
'All right, let's get the hell outta here.' Tom said, gathering everyone together.
'Hannah, do you know where Ethan is?' Lex leaned back from the tight hug that she had wrapped Hannah in to hear her answer.
'I think I heard them mention they had him in the store next door.' Lex looked at the others, wondering whether they would be willing to go save him.
'I guess we're heading there then!' Becky said immediately, a smile somehow on her face. Lex turned to the mourning cultists.
'You have two choices, abandon your god or burn here with him.' Lex lit Wiggly on fire and threw him into the ground. They all rushed toward it.
'No!'
'No he's burning!' They all cried out, none moving to leave, choosing instead to be caught by the flames. The fire was spreading quicker than Lex had expected.
'We better hurry.'
