Katy dropped herself down at the kitchen table, her hot chocolate by her empty plate. She stared down at her phone as she let her tired body rest.

Clarissa placed her bowl of cereal down on the table, she sat across from Katy.

The two woman were used to their awkward routine every morning, they were used to rarely talking as they dealt with the exhaustion from the night before.

Clarissa twisted her spoon around the milk of her cereal before using her spoon to break up her weetbix.

"You okay?" Katy glanced up at Clarissa.

Clarissa nodded as she lifted a mouthful of weetbix into her mouth.

"Is it about last night?" Katy shifted her glance back down to her phone.

Clarissa shrugged a little.

Katy shifted her glance up to her friend; the woman had lived together for almost three years by now they had understood each other's routines and signs.

"You know your dad's right, right?" Katy wasn't sure if that sentence sounded okay.

Clarissa ignored her friend's sentence as she scooped another spoonful of cereal into her mouth.

"Come on, you know Stacy's a creep." Katy admitted the truth "How many times has the club been raided because of some stupid tip?"

Clarissa attempted to enjoy another mouthful of cereal.

"I love your dad, Clarissa. I love that his there almost every night when we finish, even when it's just me and it's your night off. I don't feel safe walking home at night, I don't feel safe when it's just me and Stacy." Katy sighed a little.

Clarissa studied Katy's face; she knew her friend wasn't wrong.

"I hope something does happen to Stacy; I hope whatever hold he has with the cops disappears." Katy sadly admitted.

"Shouldn't say that to a cop's daughter." Clarissa attempted a joke even though her tone almost sounded serious.

Katy rolled her eyes as she attempted a hint of laughter "Your lame, Clarissa."

Clarissa laughed a little.
