Chapter Four
Clarissa ignored the cold air as she stepped through the door, she ignored the sound of the door closing as her dad stepped out "Why are you here?"
"To protect you." Mario quickly glanced over to his car than back at his daughter.
"I don't need protecting."
"Clearly you do, what would've happened if I didn't show up."
Clarissa glanced over at her dad's car, she noticed Katy sitting in the passenger seat "Nothing." She looked at her dad "I could've handled it."
"I know you could've." Mario started as he sighed.
"But of course you don't trust Stacy, I know. I've heard your stories and everyone else's stories. It's not like I'm a cops daughter or anything."
"Clarissa." Mario let the sound of defeat fill the tone of his voice.
"No, dad. I don't care. I have a job; you have a job. I don't want you involved in mine."
Mario pursed his lips together; his job was always going to involve Stacy Moonzee.
Without a second word, Clarissa gave a short jog to her dad's car.
Mario didn't argue as he followed Clarissa across the road, he didn't argue as she stepped into the backseat of his car.
"Sorry, Clarissa. He was already here when I walked out."
Clarissa didn't say anything as she buckled herself into the car.
Mario opened his door before sitting into the driver's seat, he pulled his seatbelt on "Warm enough, girls?"
Katy nodded; Clarissa didn't respond.
Mario started the engine before pulling away from LIVE IN HEAVEN.
Clarissa watched as the heaven inspired posters of dancers disappeared from her view.
