Chapter Eight
Clarissa and Katy let their laughter be heard as they entered Live in Heaven, Katy's work heels in her hands as Clarissa let her smile turn into laughter.
The two woman had become close friends, almost to the point that everyone believed there was something intimate happening between the two. When in reality Clarissa had answered a post about Katy needing a female flatmate three years ago, since then Katy had helped Clarissa get a job at Live in Heaven, as well as help Clarissa prepare herself with trying to join the police academy.
When Katy found out Clarissa's father was a cop, things almost went downhill until Katy realised that she could say that she knew a cop when she was in sticky situations.
"Well isn't it the giggle girls." Spoke a woman in a tight fitted suit.
Katy and Clarissa instantly stopped laughing as they stood in the dressing room.
"Morning, Nina." Clarissa brightly smiled.
"Clarissa, sweetie." Nina was the house mother of the strippers; she took in all the girls that worked in the club regardless of if they were on stage or not. Nina had her time in the stage light many years ago, now at sixty-five she felt that she was better off the stage then on it. "I heard that Stacy tried to get you have a few drinks with him."
Clarissa shrugged it off as she placed her bag into her locker "It's no big deal. I said no."
Katy side eye glanced Nina as Katy dumped her duffle bag on a chair.
Nina held back her sigh "That's great that you said no." Everyone knew Stacy's reputation; Nina wasn't trying to protect Stacy but there was something the two of them had between them that knew both could ruin each other's lives. "Did you get the message that it's a private tonight?"
Katy groaned in annoyance as she dumped her work heels on the bench.
Nina smirked a little as she looked at Katy "And of course, it's your favourite man."
Katy shivered in disgust.
Clarissa held back her laughter at Katy's reaction "Don't worry, I'll keep him liquored up."
"I didn't hear that." Nina joked.
"I said, don't worry I'll keep him liquored up." Clarissa playfully repeated.
Nina playfully glared at Clarissa "What I want from you sweetie is to play the nice girl."
Clarissa's face dropped.
Katy knew what they meant, so did Clarissa.
"I have to dress down, don't I?" Clarissa sighed.
"No. But I do want you to show what you've got." Nina hinted at Clarissa's covered by layers of clothing body.
Clarissa lowered her head.
"You shouldn't have repeated yourself." Nina playfully smirked. "That's yours." She pointed to the deep v cut barely thigh high halter dress, a clip under the cups of the dress acting as if it's holding a fabric belt together while sparkles gently glistened in the lighting of the dressing room. "Don't worry, you won't be wearing heels."
"That's something." Clarissa sighed.
